A Mostly Center-Right Place For Those With Irritable Obama Syndrome and Diversity Fatigue

Diversity Fatigue Alert: Your RACE CARD HAS BEEN DECLINED November 20, 2009

Readers may have noticed that Afrocity has been on the hibernation tour. Burned out/fed up on all of the bullshit.

Obviously I need a pick me up. A shot in the arm from some conservative comrades.  Alas, I am in Chicago. There are none. Only murders, cover-ups, cold weather, exorbitant taxes and Obama heads.

Even-so in this topsy-turvy political world called Chicago, there was one highlight. Mike Huckabee was coming to a nearby suburban Borders book store.  I was craving a conservative fix and Fox News just not cutting it.  Ironically, Al Gore was appearing the very next day in Chicago. No 35 mile drive to the burbs.

In the end, I saw neither man.  Which one tempted me the most? Mike Huckabee of course. There is nothing worse than having to face your formerly liberal conscience  to say that you do not give a rat’s ass about seeing the “goracle”. A man that you once voted for because you thought he would have made a great president but now you find him to be truly stomach turning.  I can hear him screaming that I am not green therefore I am racist.

Replace “green” with “supporting the health care bill”  and according to the honorable Jesse Jackson that makes Afrocity a racist too.

From this article in The Hill

Hat tip Bald Man Moody:

Jesse Jackson: ‘You can’t vote against healthcare and call yourself a black man’

By Mike Soraghan – 11/18/09

The Rev. Jesse Jackson on Wednesday night criticized Rep. Artur Davis (D-Ala.) for voting against the Democrats’ signature healthcare bill.

“We even have blacks voting against the healthcare bill from Alabama,” Jackson said at a reception Wednesday night. “You can’t vote against healthcare and call yourself a black man.”

Rep. Artur Davis (D-Ala). According To Jesse Jackson, he cannot call himself a black man because he voted against the health care reform bill.

Not a black man because he voted against the health care reform bill.

The remark stirred a murmur at the reception, held by the Congressional Black Caucus (CBC) Foundation as part of a series of events revolving around the 25th anniversary of Jackson’s run for president. Several CBC members were in attendance, including Chairwoman Barbara Lee (D-Calif.), who’d introduced Jackson.

Davis, who is running for governor, is the only black member of Congress from Alabama.

He is also the only member of the CBC to have voted against the healthcare bill earlier this month.

Davis referred to Jackson’s 1988 run for president in a statement, issued through his office, that said he would not engage Jackson on his criticism.

“One of the reasons that I like and admire Rev. Jesse Jackson is that 21 years ago he inspired the idea that a black politician would not be judged simply as a black leader,” Davis’s statement said. “The best way to honor Rev. Jackson’s legacy is to decline to engage in an argument with him that begins and ends with race.”

Jackson said later that he “didn’t call anybody by name and I won’t.”

He added that he wasn’t saying that black lawmakers must vote a certain way. Instead, they should vote the interests of the people in their districts, and he said the healthcare bill would help Alabama because it’s one of the poorest states in the country.

“The poorest people need healthcare protection,” Jackson said. “They have the highest infant mortality and the lowest life expectancy. They’re dying from lack of access.”

Other members of the CBC found no fault in Jackson’s words. Rep. Emanuel Cleaver (D-Mo.) was in the audience. He called Jackson’s criticism of Davis “accurate,” but said he did not hear Jackson say “You can’t vote against healthcare and call yourself a black man.”

Now you know what Afrocity would say: Country before race, gender or party!!!

What gives Rev. Jesse Jackson the right to say who is and isn’t black? Look Jesse…Thank you for your contributions to African American history but you of all people, the man who stood by Martin Luther King Jr.’s side as he was assassinated should know that no man worth his salt will be intimated by the hateful words and deeds of others.

I suppose you voted for Obama while secretly wanting to cut off his nuts because ….he was black?

Jesse are you OK? Are we talking about the same man who fought for the civil rights of others? Now you have the audacity to take away someone’s “black card” (As if there should even be such an idiotic thing) because they voted against the health care bill?

Who died and made you the melanin fairy?

At precisely the point where we are in a so called “post racial America”, the weak Uncle Tom vs. the symbolic black Patriarchal Mandingo leadership meme once again attempts to strip power and virility from any person of color that dares to cut the cord with Democrats. Sounds like a plantation to me.

It is hard to imagine such idiocy but while we are speaking of race baiting morons, Chris Mathews was in rare form while describing a Sarah Palin book signing tour stop in Michigan:

I agree with Goldberg and while we are on the subject…Hey Chris Mathews how many black people live in your Upper Westside posh apartment complex in NYC?

Saturday Toons: I Just Love Michele…Bachmann That Is November 14, 2009

obama-real-500x625Liberal Jon Stewart lovers are not letting up on their only hope that conservative media (aka Fox News) and the most hated conservative politician besides Sarah Palin, – Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-MN) are immoral scumbags like most of the mainstream media and Democratic politicians he fails to cover.

Several times this week, I have been met with ” Hey Afrocity, did you hear how Jon Stewart busted Sean Hannity and Michelle Bachman?”

If you have not already heard about it, then allow me to fill you in on what the firestorm of controversy is all about.

From this article in the San Francisco Chronicle:

Hannity & Bachmann lie about rally numbers | Hannity apologizes to Jon Stewart

By Yobie Benjamin

November 11, 2009

On his Fox News show, Sean Hannity misleadingly aired video from the 9-12 March on Washington while discussing Rep. Michele Bachmann’s (R-MN) much smaller November 5 anti-health care reform rally to claim that 20,000 – 45,000 plus people showed up to Bachmann’s protest.

Ha!!!  “Reliable sources like MSNBC..” ? Is he kidding?

From "I Own The"

I will say again if you have not heard about this then consider yourself lucky to have escaped the desperate gloating of a liberal who clings to the notion that Keith Olberman is actually a good journalist. Afrocity just smiles and acknowledges that it was wrong. The liberal goes skipping down the hallway. Poor thing, it must feel good. Every squirrel needs a nut. The sun must shine on a donkey’s ass sometime.

To be fair, what Sean Hannity and Fox News did was wrong. Do you hear that gloating liberals waiting for bone?  Afrocity agrees with you that it was unethical for Sean to use video footage from another rally in order to mislead the viewers. Personally,  attendance numbers do not matter to me. What does matter is that Rep. Bachmann was doing her part to make sure that Obamacare was not passed.

Unlike Keith Olberman who continues to lie and exaggerate on the daily basis,  at least Sean Hannity apologized:

exorcist Bachman

From I Own The World, Hat Tip- Cowgirl Conservative

Should I be angry about this? Sorry but I am not.

Will I switch back to MSNBC, CNN…read the Washington Post?  No.

I will continue to watch FOX News. I really do not care about the videotape. I still love Michele Bachmann.  My only criticism of her is that she not care about the number of people who show up to see her. Leave that to the Obama worshiping Kool Aid gang such as Robert Gibbs and David Axelrod. Numbers do not equate substance.  How many people attended Obama rallies during the presidential campaign, yet left just as clueless about his agenda as they were before they attended? Sadly, they did not care about the words flowing from Obama’s mouth. Michele, I am sure your attendees were present because they actually gave a damn about the future of health care in America. They were angry and wanted to be heard.

Michele keep doing what you do best. Who cares about the perception? Who cares about the popularity contests?

Moonbat Monday: The FOX Hunters October 26, 2009

For little more than a year I have been in a wonderful relationship…with FOX News.

Other’s seem to agree as FOX news makes a killing every night in the ratings.  Yes, I love Bill-O, Sean, Shep, Greta, Glenn, Megyn, Charles Krauthhammer, Tammy Bruce, and even Juan.  Am I fair and balanced in my choice of news sources?  Hell no! Frankly, I do not care.

3596619837_b090aab6ceDuring a frustrating August day in 2008, I became increasingly dissatisfied with the media coverage surrounding then presidential candidate Barack Obama, especially on cable networks CNN and MSNBC.

To be fair, my mind was already made up against Obama.   He could not have given me 1 million dollars for my vote.  All that I needed to see of him and his lack of presidential qualities I admired had been locked in since his bid for the Democratic nomination against Hillary Clinton.

However, it seemed clear to me that the good folks of CNN and MSNBC also were firm in their decision about the upcoming election. Campbell Brown -all bull…so biased. Keith Olberman (blech). It was all about Barry. Barry could do no wrong.  GOP VP-nominee Sarah Palin was an idiot. John McCain was a racist and so were his gun toting supporters.

Distanced logic and a commitment to telling the truth seemed to be the last thing on the minds of reporters getting tingles up their legs over THE CHOSEN ONE. That is when I chose FOX.

At first, I delighted in the absence of Obama worship. That is what brought me to FOX.   With time, it was the network’s no frills commentators, tenacity for getting at the heart of the matter and commitment  to balanced reporting that kept me with Fox.  I also appreciate the feminine aspect of the network. Beauty and brains rule, every woman with a law degree, sweet smile and the bite of a pit bull.

Remember this little tiff between Megyn Kelly and Obama Campaign guy Bill Burton?

Okay, so FOX News and Obama seem to have a bit of history. However, now that the 2008 presidential campaign is in the history books and Obama is our president, some feuds never die.

White House: Fox Pushed Team Obama Over the Brink

A senior Obama adviser says White House staffers realized they’d never get a fair shake from Fox

Posted October 23, 2009

The White House’s feud with Fox News has caused an irresistible buzz in Washington, but many are wondering precisely what prompted President Obama and his advisers to go ballistic against the network.

Here’s the answer: Team Obama was pushed over the brink by a growing list of what it considered outrageous anti-Obama conduct by Fox that showed no sign of stopping. Obama’s advisers say that they seethed while Fox commentators used their shows to encourage protests against Obama’s healthcare proposals last summer. Team Obama fumed as Fox personalities tried to pressure some controversial Obama advisers to resign. White House officials

say that Fox has continued to stir the pot against Obama in a regular pattern—raising a criticism, having Republican congressional leaders comment on it, and then using those comments to keep the criticism alive.

A break point came when Fox tried to create the impression that angry anti-Obama protesters at congressional town hall meetings last summer signaled that Obama’s healthcare proposals were dying, a story line that other news organization picked up. White House officials say this was untrue, that those proposals were not dying at all.

Another break point came when Fox commentator Chris Wallace called White House officials “crybabies.” A senior Obama adviser tells U.S. News that White House staffers developed “a growing realization” that the president would never get a fair shake from Fox.

White House insiders say that, at some point, White House officials will appear again on Fox, but they will do so expecting an antagonistic atmosphere, as if they were appearing on conservative talk radio. Asked what White House insiders hope to accomplish with the feud, the adviser says, “We are not spending much time here at the White House thinking about Fox” but are focusing instead on the president’s agenda, including health care legislation, the economy, regulatory reform, Afghanistan

, and Iran. “Fox is using this to promote themselves,” the adviser says. “Our hope is simply that responsible journalists will not go chasing after Fox stories” as if these stories were legitimate.

Image from Contra

Hmmm, if the Obama administration is so “not worried about FOX news can someone explain why they are trying so hard to lock out the news station that they claim is “not a legitimate news source”?

Again the Obamabots seek to crush and destroy rather than lead by example thus giving the world precious pearls of beer sud wisdom and “teachable moments”

Desperate to stay in the game weasel Democrats who normally shy away from FOX have been cropping up on the network. This morning Florida congress woman Deb Wasserman Schultz popped up on the morning show –cheery and full of liberal bias as always.

Sunday Lanny Davis got his ass handed to him on a platter by Mike Huckabee.

I do not agree with everything Mike Huckabee stands for but I love the way he handles himself with liberals.

I love it. Mike was honest. Yes we are fair and balanced but that does not mean we drink the Kool Aid and it certainly does not mean we hide what we believe in.

Moonbat Monday: “Wee-Weed” and Other Great Speeches of Our Time August 24, 2009

DNC Brain“There’s something about August going into September — (hee ha ha lol) — where everybody in Washington gets all wee-weed up.

-President Barack Obama, August 20, 2009

Can moonbats (family liberalis) develop the dreaded donkey hoof in mouth disease? You betcha.

Have you ever been to a library and thumbed through a copy of The Public Papers of the Presidents?  Most libraries own a complete set.

The Public Papers of the Presidents series is published by the Office of the Federal Register (OFR) and is the official publication of United States Presidents’ public writings, addresses, and remarks. The series has been in existence since the Hoover administration.

Most presidents such as Dwight Eisenhower have eight volumes , while others like John F. Kennedy have only three due to his untimely demise.  Usually there is a volume for each year of a president’s term. The longer the presidency, the more volumes he and hopefully someday she will have.

The exterior of each volume is cloth bound and rather stately. The name of each president is printed in gold leaf.

Ronald Reagan having a good solid eight year presidency 1981-1989 has many volumes which should contain every speech and address he ever made.  The same goes for Richard Milhous Nixon. His resignation speech is contained in the final volume of his published papers:

Published Presidential Papers of Harry S. Truman. 8 volumes.

Published Presidential Papers of Harry S. Truman. 8 volumes.

…I shall leave this office with regret at not completing my term, but with gratitude for the privilege of serving as your President for the past 51/2 years. These years have been a momentous time in the history of our Nation and the world. They have been a time of achievement in which we can all be proud, achievements that represent the shared efforts of the Administration, the Congress, and the people. But the challenges ahead are equally great, and they, too, will require the support and the efforts of the Congress and the people working in cooperation with the new Administration.

We have ended America’s longest war, but in the work of securing a lasting peace in the world, the goals ahead are even more far-reaching and more difficult. We must complete a structure of peace so that it will be said of this generation, our generation of Americans, by the people of all nations, not only that we ended one war but that we prevented future wars…

-President Richard Milhous Nixon ( August 8, 1974)

As an object in itself, each volume tells a story. In the photograph of the Truman papers above, notice how some volumes are larger than others. What does that mean? It is as if each volume is haunted by the events. Was Truman too busy plotting the destruction of Japan to speak that year? Did he have a tonsillectomy? What was going on? Could be nothing at all. Perhaps one during one year a president was a more prolific speaker than others.

Now fast forward to the year 2009 and President Barack H. Obama. I cannot wait to see this particular gem in volume one of his official papers:

“I think it’s fair to say, number one, any of us would be pretty angry. Number two, that the Cambridge police acted stupidly in arresting somebody when there was already proof that they were in their own home. And number three – what I think we know separate and apart from this incident – is that there is a long history in this country of African-Americans and Latinos being stopped by law enforcement disproportionately, and that’s just a fact.”  –President Barack Obama (July 2009)

Scientific Proof That MoonbatsHave Suffered From Foot in Mouth Disease Since Ancient Times

Scientific Proof That Moonbats Have Suffered From Foot in Mouth Disease Since Ancient Times.

Many Obamabots claim to have admired Barack Obama because he was an eloquent speaker. He was consistently praised as  an “articulate and gifted orator”.  His election to POTUS meant that Americans would not be subjected to the embarrassment we suffered as country under the obvious illiteracy of President George W.Bush. Bush II was born in New Haven, Connecticut at Yale University Hospital but make no mistake- he was a Texan through and through. The problem for many liberals was that he sounded like one. Obama being more polished and armed with an arsenal of teleprompters should not have the same problem right? Wrong. The words may uh, uh, uh, sound pretty but whether or not they actually offer Americans the intellectual stimulation they crave is highly debatable.

teleprompterThe White House press secretary is responsible for providing the materials contained in the “public papers” for his administration. For President Obama that would be the blundering Robert Gibbs who in my opinion will without question go down in history as the worse press secretary EVER. I say this not as a Republican but as an American. Why President Obama hired and continues to retain Gibbs in his administration is beyond me. Gibbs makes a mockery out of the office of press secretary. Makes one wonder if Gibbs has something over Obama’s head and that is why he has the job. If the Obama administration’s goal is to make the White House appear glaringly inexperienced but also as transparent as a barrel of crude oil, they have succeeded.

The Washington Examiner

“The thrill is gone for Obama and the media”

By: Chris Stirewalt
August 24, 2009

There’s nothing like a summer vacation to rekindle a romance. So maybe a week on Martha’s Vineyard can bring back some of the magic between the Obama administration and the media.

Before White House press secretary Robert Gibbs left town, he tried to clarify President Barack Obama’s comment that “everybody in Washington gets all wee-weed up.” Gibbs explained to reporters that what the president meant was that they were a bunch of bed wetters who made too much out of the implosion of the White House health care strategy.

Gibbs has grown more sardonic and patronizing as the summer wears on and Obama’s poll numbers wilt.

The press secretary has lectured reporters on the nature of their jobs — apparently to defend the administration against “misinformation” rather than asking impertinent questions like “How will you pay for it?”

When asked recently about the administration’s endless evasions on the public option, Gibbs instead opted to define a monopoly.
“If you had one place to eat lunch before you came to the briefing, do you think it would be cheap?” Gibbs demanded of CNN’s Ed Henry.

Henry should have asked Gibbs to define monopsony: a market in which one buyer is so large that it can control suppliers and ruin competitors. Henry could then explain he’d rather pay too much for the sandwich he wanted than have to eat at a government chow line opened across the street to encourage “competition.”

Gibbs is so crabby because, incredibly, the administration blames the media for the president’s problems.

It tried blaming Republicans, but the GOP is too far out of power. When the leader of the free world is complaining about a posting on the former governor of Alaska’s Facebook page, he’s got problems.

Now listen to Press Secretary Robert Gibbs explanation of what President Obama meant by “wee weed up”

Yes, indeed I cannot wait to include those 4 volumes of the Presidential Papers of Barack H. Obama in my personal library. I will shelve them lovingly next to my moonbat taxonomy resources.

It Is Time To Turn On FOX News June 11, 2009

Olbermann dummy2

It was around the time of the 2008 DNC convention that I began to watch FOX News religiously. Midway through the election cycle I became fed up with the ObamaMSNBC since. There are others who claim that all media channels, including FOX should be turned off. I cannot do that. I am far too addicted to television and news programs. Virtually every news channel has adopted Barack Obama as their native son- except Fox News and frankly I do not know what I would do without them. Yes they are decidedly conservative, they swing from the right, but at the same time they at least offer different perspectives in terms of commentators. All of this is illustrated by the network’s new advertisement FOX NATION Praise Fest and switched. I have not looked back at CNN or :

Yesterday the New York Post published remarks by Charles Krauthamer during his acceptance speech for the 2009 Eric Breindel Award for Excellence in Opinion Journalism:

Charles Krauthammer

June 9, 2009

obama MSNBCAT a time when awards in the humanities are a near-monopoly of the left — Nobel peace prizes awarded to those, from Yasir Arafat to Jimmy Carter, who give the most succor to the forces of terror and tyranny; Pulitzers given to whichever newspaper can expose the more damaging national-security secrets — it is important for there to be an award to recognize and encourage journalism and, more generally, political thinking of a different kind.

In that respect, there should be a special award for Fox News. Fox has done a great service to the American polity — single-handedly breaking up the intellectual and ideological monopoly that for decades exerted hegemony (to use a favorite lefty cliché) over the broadcast media.

I said some years ago that the genius of Rupert Murdoch and Roger Ailes was to have discovered a niche market in American broadcasting — half the American people. The reason Fox News has thrived and grown is because it offers a vibrant and honest alternative to those who could not abide yet another day of the news delivered to them beneath layer after layer of often undisguised liberalism.

What Fox did is not just create a venue for alternative opinion. It created an alternate reality…

That’s why Fox News is so resented. It altered the intellectual and ideological landscape of America. It gave not only voice but also legitimacy to a worldview that had been utterly excluded from the mainstream media. I’m proud to be part of this televised apostasy. And particularly proud to be part of the single best news program on American television, the six-o’clock news — first with Brit Hume, now with Bret Baier. How good is “Special Report”? So good that even if I weren’t on it, my mother would watch it — and she spent 50 years as a Democrat.

Chris blondieThank you,  Charles Krauthammer for summing up my feelings exactly. It is nice to know that there is a network out there for people like me who become weary of the WTF moments and leg tingles. I believe that Fox News gives a unique opportunity for viewers to see constructive and sometimes lively debates between liberals and conservatives. Who wants to listen to a bunch of liberal network blockheads like Keith Olberman and Chris Mathews bloviate about how much they hate republicans and Fox News? Thank you Fox Nation for giving this former Democrat a place to watch current events unfold without extreme misogyny and Daily Kos talking points.

I will leave you with this laughable clip from Keith Olbermann about Tuesday’s shooting at the Holocaust Museum . According to Olbermann Nazis are right wing extremist and Janet Napolitano “Queen of Homeland Security “was justified in her remarks about domestic terrorists.  Be warned, after seeing his clip my gut reaction was to grab a wastebasket and empty the contents of every meal I have ever consumed in my entire life.

LAP DOG: The Palin Hunter June 7, 2009

Huff Po poster

After a few moments of reading, I do not see how anyone in their right mind could seriously consider the Huffington Post as a credible news source. Throughout the day I will browse the net and see some laughable story that is pro-Obama Kool Aid regurgitation which is the only way it comes with these guys. During last year’s election a criticism that I found completely unwarranted and quite nasty was the “Governor Sarah Palin (R-AK) is as dumb as rocks” narrative. “Huff Poop” as I affectionately call it, was one of the main internet newspapers combing through Sarah Palin’s life and interviews for zingers. At the core of this criticism was the charge that Sarah Palin could not speak well. This was meant to be juxtaposed with the ever so eloquent Barack Obama. Obama crushed all competition with his well paced words and perfect diction. Obama is such a great speaker that even Rush Limbaugh could not stop praising the guy. Ahem.

RUSH: Grab audio sound bite number 26 first, Mike. I didn’t know we’d get to this this early. I asked Cookie to put together a little montage here of all the stuttering around that Obama did in his press conference today and I want you to hear this because — and we didn’t repeat anything here. It goes 46 seconds, and we’re doing this because we hear constantly, “What a great orator and a great communicator! Ohhhh, this man is smooth!” Just listen. This is a great illustration here of what happened when you take the teleprompter and your prepared remarks away from the dude.

OBAMA: Uh, uh, are, uh, uh, uh, um. That’s — that’s a bunch — so — so let me tick these off. Deh… Uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, um, uh. So the issue is not a perception that, uh… Weh, weh, let me put it this way. Uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, We’re — we’re trying to — you know, we’ve got a bipartisan group here and — and — and, uh, uh, uh, uh, um, uh, uh, uh.

Wow. Martin Luther King has nothing on Obama and his teleprompter and obviously neither does Sarah Palin. Our good friends at the Huffington Post are here once again to make sure that you do not forget that. And guess what? Now not only is Sarah Palin not a great speaker according to Geoffrey Dunn at Huff Poop, she is also guilty of plagiarizing:

Palin Lifts From Gingrich in Anchorage Speech
Huffington Post
Geoffrey Dunn
June 6, 2009

Sarah Palin’s speech delivered in Anchorage on Wednesday — the one in which she declared “screw political correctness” and wondered why “we have to pussyfoot around our troublesome foes” — repeatedly lifted from an article written four years ago by Newt Gingrich and Craig Shirley without attribution.

While Palin twice mentioned Gingrich in the speech (she never acknowledged Shirley), she frequently mixed her own remarks about Reagan with passages that appear to be pulled directly from the Gingrich-Shirley article.

Now Dunn just said that Palin mentioned Newt Gingrich in the speech then he goes on to write this:

During her speech in Anchorage, Palin went through her standard introductions, including the “First Dude,” Todd Palin. You can now view it at HuffPo. This first excerpt appears to echo the Gingrich/Shirley article but doesn’t lift from it directly.

Palin: First, I think what we’re going to learn tonight via Michael is that Ronald Reagan’s ideas were the right ideas and all we have to do is look back at his record, his economic record and his national security record to know that his ideas were right.

Gingrich/Shirley: What should Americans learn from this remarkable man and his remarkable Presidency?…The “right” ideas really matter (the left was wrong and Reagan was right about virtually every major public policy issue and the historic record is clear for those willing to look at it).

After that, Palin acknowledged that, “Recently, Newt Gingrich, he had written a good article about Reagan….” (Recently? It was four years ago.) Without mentioning Shirley, she quotes and paraphrases from the article at length:

So Sarah Palin “acknowledged” that Newt Gingrich wrote the article? Then it is not plagiarism. Had she not mentioned Newt at all it would have been plagiarism. While she is guilty of not mentioning the co-author, what the governor did is not out and out plagiarism. Dunn continues by spending the rest of the article parsing Palin’s speech and comparing it to the “Gingrich/Shirley” work. Yawn. More Palinius Haterus moonbattery.

If Sarah Palin is indeed guilty of plagiarizing, isn’t it possible that she “lifted” the bad habit from Vice President Joe Biden? You know, the guy with ‘foot in mouth” disease.

Biden is not the only member of the plagiarism club, his hamburger helper Obama is also an initiate:

A Day without Media Bias. Will it Ever Exist? Truthfully Not May 18, 2009

Mock WSJ drawing of conservative Ann Coulter by the Huffington Post, an employer of Obamabuttics philius medialis

Mock Wall Street Journal style drawing of Conservative writer Ann Coulter published in 2008 by the Huffington Post, a major employer of Obamabuttics philius medialis moonbats.

Will the media bias ever end?

Back in the 70’s when my grandmother was alive, she would faithfully watch the 5 o’clock news, then world news, then the 6 o’clock news. “Why do adults watch so much news?” I would ask her. “It is just the same stuff over and over again.” Most of the time she ignored me as I rolled back on forth on the carpet whining and sighing in an effort to get her to change the channel to a Three Stoodges rerun. It would have been relatively easy for her to just give in to her charming granddaughter but there was no getting that woman to turn down her standing date with Walter Cronkite.

Grandmother also insisted that anything was true…if it was on the news.
“Oh, it must be true I saw it on the news last night.”
And so it was, the gospel according to Channel 7 Eyewitness News.

I spent many evenings pouting in grandma’s damp and musty closet. News is for adults and I would never be that kind of adult when I grew up.
Who wants to watch stupid news all day long?

This would change of course but perhaps earlier than one would expect. By the time I was 10, I understood that someday I would be an adult and I needed to get a job. But what would I do? I had no role models except my grandmother the maid. My brother was in the army- ick. I need to do something where I carry a briefcase. White men carry briefcases…it means that they are important. One Saturday morning I was left alone to my own devices. Yay mommy is gone, I have a fridge full of Kool Aid and Ore Ida frozen krinkle fries…I was rockin’. I turned the television to Channel 11 WTTW Chicago PBS. Mr. Rogers was on, Zoom. Remember Zoom??? We’re gonna zoom, zoom, zooma zoom. By 2pm the kid stuff was winding down and the serious adult stuff started to air. Quick Afrocity turn the channel but I was stopped in my tracks by the intro to this program:

It was Wall $treet Week with Louis Rukeyser. I stood in front of the television paralyzed, unable to switch the channel. It was the height of professionalism, white people walking around with briefcases. To turn away would mean I was rejecting any future chance of success as a businesswoman. Turning away would also mean I was stupid and unable to understand. I sat down and listened to Mr. Rukeyser, not that I understood a damn thing he was talking about. Questions about stocks and the market came up in strange conservations about trick or treating. Mr. Rukeyser had an ongoing affair for several years. He was my media Svengali, but at the same time I was scared to death of him. How could I ever be this great without being white, and named after a king? Mother once thought I was ill because there Mr. Rukeyser was going on about the stock market and here is her 11 year old daughter starring at the screen. My refusal of her request to change the channel made her place a hand on my forehead.

By teenage years, I had dumped Mr. Rukeyser for Dick Clark but the homespun emphasis on the media as truth and power is still remembered by a now grown up Afrocity. During 9/11, I became increasingly dependent on cable news channels, a habit which remains nearly eight years later. Except now I only watch Fox News. This is a switch I made during the 2008 election. As much as I like Anderson Cooper (he is cute), I cannot stand watching Obamabuttics philius medialis moonbats salivate over Barack Obama and malign conservatives like Sarah Palin.

I am not saying that Fox news is perfect but I do find them to be a helluva lot more “fair and balanced” then oh say MSNBC. For me the process of formalizing and establishing a relationship with a news channel is one I that I take rather seriously. After all these journalists, these individuals will be guests in your living every evening. Whatever your political leanings you have to agree with them somewhat, otherwise is like a love affair complete with rough patches and strained conversation over Thai food. In my case the people in my living Keith Olbermann, Chris Mathews, Rachel Maddow, Campbell Brown- all irritated the shit out of me. On top of that, their antics and Obama love was just nauseating.

See what I mean? I think the real WTF? moment is watching this grown man use W-T-F as any sort of plausible news segment. And that music he plays! In my eyes, the rusty organ pipe music kills any shred of journalistic integrity that Countdown may have ever possessed. It  reminds me of old Frankenstein and werewolf  movies from WGN Creature Features. It scares me now just as much as it did then.  Talk about ” Phantom of the Media”. Geeze.

Retro 1970's Creature Features TV ad from WGN- Channel 9 Chicago

Retro 1970's Creature Features TV ad from WGN- Channel 9 Chicago

By mid-august 2008, I could not stand it anymore. I need my news and this was not working. Then something came to me, I vaguely recalled my liberal friends accusing Fox News of being very conservative. Fox news eek. How could I? But I did, I swallowed my pride and switched the channel. Needless to say my stress level decreased considerably. If my transition to conservatism goes hand in hand with my watching Fox News then so be it. I will take Bill O’Reilly and Megyn Kelly over Olbermann and Maddow any day. The last thing I want to watch after a long day is indentured Obamabutt servants from Kool Aid Mountain. Their use of misogyny (Olbermann) and condescending descriptions of the female 2008 election candidates could have well served as a model for “how not to report an election”.

No matter where you decide to get your news be it CNN, a blog, the Wall Street Journal, the Huffington Post (barf), you must be interested in the facts. Find out what the truth means to you by familiarizing yourself with various media biases. Ask yourself : why are they reporting this? What is their spin? Is it fair reporting? What is not being said?

I am not a complete Fox head. I know that Fox News news steers towards the right. However, when Bill O’Reilly runs stories that are suggestive of media corruption, such as the story about the New York Times squashing a report about Barack Obama and his ties to the well known voter fraud factory ACORN before the election day last fall, I notice that the story is NOT being covered by other networks. I ask myself why are other networks hesitant to cover any story that casts Obama in an unflattering light?

Do the Obamabutts ever seem to understand that it is a highly contingent ethical decision to not run a story because it would hurt a political candidate? In fact why would you not run the story? This is about voter fraud and the man that was about to be crowned as President of the United States. Wouldn’t you want to know the truth about him. Or am I the only one? Wanting to know the truth is not being a racist or a right wing nut. I expected to know the truth when Bill Clinton was president and I voted for him. We should all insist that our journalists tell us the truth. If we limit ourselves to this charade of unconvincing fluff- post modernist Obama culture news that is more suitable for lining a Maine Coon’s litter box than it is for reading, how do we refocus our quest for the truth? The consequenses are  embedded in the videos above which lead me to believe only and scarily so, myself and myself alone.
