A Mostly Center-Right Place For Those With Irritable Obama Syndrome and Diversity Fatigue

Tweety Alert: Who Ever Knew Obama Was Black ? January 28, 2010

I wanted to quickly post this You Tube video of Chris Matthews commenting on Obama’s State of the Union address last night. I do not know what is more creep, his words or seeing Keith Olbermann and Rachel Maddow in split screen with him. It was just too much.

Afrocity’s Political Holiday Wish List: An Intervention Fairy For MSNBC December 2, 2009

Now that the season of giving is finally upon us,  I am introducing a new series- Afrocity’s Political Holiday Wish List.  With the liberals on the hill running a muck, there is plenty for a newly minted Republican to wish for in terms of America’s political sanity. Of course my wish list will imitate the holiday wish list  I keep in “real time”. About one or two items out of the many that I requested will actually show up under my Christmas tree. However, in allowing myself to have this list I can give myself a sense of true hope for real change. For starters, I could wish for “world mainstream media peace” or at the very least the disappearance of Chris Matthews from all of television. On the campaign trail,  Obama promised to be tough on Afghanistan then dithered and apologized as our president.  Let’s face it, Democrats are lousy at foreign policy. Liberals simply don’t care who is threatening to kiss America’s ass. In fact some even believe that we deserved what we got on September 11th, 2001. When I was a liberal, this was an aspect of the Democrats that troubled me. The final chapter of Carter’s presidency was characterized by the Iranian hostage situation. I was about 9 years old and even I knew that Carter looked like a rubber chicken. Still, Obama reluctantly will send an additional 30,000 men to Afghanistan. In true Obama fashion, he must be dramatic about this by giving what is I am sure just another of the thousand peaking at West Point last night was admittedly a clever move on the part of Obama’s team.  At West Point, there would be no outbursts from anti-war liberals who felt betrayed by Obama. The cadets would be respectful and contemplative.   As Obama was reading from the teleprompter, I watched the reactions of the military brains of tomorrow. I saw black faces, white faces, Asians, and the most wonderful of all…I saw female faces. After Obama was done speaking, I saw looks of joy on the faces of youths as they stumbled over one another to get a handshake or at the very least an iPhone picture of our Commander in Chief.

Leave it to Chris Mathews to tarnish the evening as he provided his richly detailed opinions of the students at West Point.

Dear God, please send a bolt of lightening across the Upper Westside of Manhattan that will some how find the ass of Chris Matthews. I pray that it will send testicle rattling tingles of journalistic integrity up his leg. Amen.

Diversity Fatigue Alert: Your RACE CARD HAS BEEN DECLINED November 20, 2009

Readers may have noticed that Afrocity has been on the hibernation tour. Burned out/fed up on all of the bullshit.

Obviously I need a pick me up. A shot in the arm from some conservative comrades.  Alas, I am in Chicago. There are none. Only murders, cover-ups, cold weather, exorbitant taxes and Obama heads.

Even-so in this topsy-turvy political world called Chicago, there was one highlight. Mike Huckabee was coming to a nearby suburban Borders book store.  I was craving a conservative fix and Fox News just not cutting it.  Ironically, Al Gore was appearing the very next day in Chicago. No 35 mile drive to the burbs.

In the end, I saw neither man.  Which one tempted me the most? Mike Huckabee of course. There is nothing worse than having to face your formerly liberal conscience  to say that you do not give a rat’s ass about seeing the “goracle”. A man that you once voted for because you thought he would have made a great president but now you find him to be truly stomach turning.  I can hear him screaming that I am not green therefore I am racist.

Replace “green” with “supporting the health care bill”  and according to the honorable Jesse Jackson that makes Afrocity a racist too.

From this article in The Hill

Hat tip Bald Man Moody:

Jesse Jackson: ‘You can’t vote against healthcare and call yourself a black man’

By Mike Soraghan - 11/18/09

The Rev. Jesse Jackson on Wednesday night criticized Rep. Artur Davis (D-Ala.) for voting against the Democrats’ signature healthcare bill.

“We even have blacks voting against the healthcare bill from Alabama,” Jackson said at a reception Wednesday night. “You can’t vote against healthcare and call yourself a black man.”

Rep. Artur Davis (D-Ala). According To Jesse Jackson, he cannot call himself a black man because he voted against the health care reform bill.

Not a black man because he voted against the health care reform bill.

The remark stirred a murmur at the reception, held by the Congressional Black Caucus (CBC) Foundation as part of a series of events revolving around the 25th anniversary of Jackson’s run for president. Several CBC members were in attendance, including Chairwoman Barbara Lee (D-Calif.), who’d introduced Jackson.

Davis, who is running for governor, is the only black member of Congress from Alabama.

He is also the only member of the CBC to have voted against the healthcare bill earlier this month.

Davis referred to Jackson’s 1988 run for president in a statement, issued through his office, that said he would not engage Jackson on his criticism.

“One of the reasons that I like and admire Rev. Jesse Jackson is that 21 years ago he inspired the idea that a black politician would not be judged simply as a black leader,” Davis’s statement said. “The best way to honor Rev. Jackson’s legacy is to decline to engage in an argument with him that begins and ends with race.”

Jackson said later that he “didn’t call anybody by name and I won’t.”

He added that he wasn’t saying that black lawmakers must vote a certain way. Instead, they should vote the interests of the people in their districts, and he said the healthcare bill would help Alabama because it’s one of the poorest states in the country.

“The poorest people need healthcare protection,” Jackson said. “They have the highest infant mortality and the lowest life expectancy. They’re dying from lack of access.”

Other members of the CBC found no fault in Jackson’s words. Rep. Emanuel Cleaver (D-Mo.) was in the audience. He called Jackson’s criticism of Davis “accurate,” but said he did not hear Jackson say “You can’t vote against healthcare and call yourself a black man.”

Now you know what Afrocity would say: Country before race, gender or party!!!

What gives Rev. Jesse Jackson the right to say who is and isn’t black? Look Jesse…Thank you for your contributions to African American history but you of all people, the man who stood by Martin Luther King Jr.’s side as he was assassinated should know that no man worth his salt will be intimated by the hateful words and deeds of others.

I suppose you voted for Obama while secretly wanting to cut off his nuts because ….he was black?

Jesse are you OK? Are we talking about the same man who fought for the civil rights of others? Now you have the audacity to take away someone’s “black card” (As if there should even be such an idiotic thing) because they voted against the health care bill?

Who died and made you the melanin fairy?

At precisely the point where we are in a so called “post racial America”, the weak Uncle Tom vs. the symbolic black Patriarchal Mandingo leadership meme once again attempts to strip power and virility from any person of color that dares to cut the cord with Democrats. Sounds like a plantation to me.

It is hard to imagine such idiocy but while we are speaking of race baiting morons, Chris Mathews was in rare form while describing a Sarah Palin book signing tour stop in Michigan:

I agree with Goldberg and while we are on the subject…Hey Chris Mathews how many black people live in your Upper Westside posh apartment complex in NYC?

Obama the sphinxBy now you may have caught wind of the fodder surrounding Newsweek editor, Evan Thomas and his comparison to President Barack Obama as God. Last Friday, Thomas was speaking on MSNBC’s Hardball with Chris Matthews (surprise, surprise) about Obama’s speech in Cairo when he began to verbally elevate the 44th president to the status of creator and chief.

Newsweek’s Evan Thomas: Obama Is ‘Sort of God’

By Kyle Drennen
June 5, 2009

Newsweek editor Evan Thomas brought adulation over President Obama’s Cairo speech to a whole new level on Friday, declaring on MSNBC: “I mean in a way Obama’s standing above the country, above – above the world, he’s sort of God.”

Thomas, appearing on Hardball with Chris Matthews, was reacting to a preceding monologue in which Matthews praised Obama’s speech: “I think the President’s speech yesterday was the reason we Americans elected him. It was grand. It was positive. Hopeful…But what I liked about the President’s speech in Cairo was that it showed a complete humility…The question now is whether the President we elected and spoke for us so grandly yesterday can carry out the great vision he gave us and to the world.

Matthews discussed Obama’s upcoming speech marking the 65th anniversary of D-Day and compared it to that of Ronald Reagan. He then turned to Thomas and asked: “Reagan and World War II and the sense of us as the good guys in the world, how are we doing?” Thomas replied: “Well, we were the good guys in 1984, it felt that way. It hasn’t felt that way in recent years. So Obama’s had, really, a different task We’re seen too often as the bad guys. And he – he has a very different job from – Reagan was all about America, and you talked about it. Obama is ‘we are above that now.’ We’re not just parochial, we’re not just chauvinistic, we’re not just provincial.”

Here is a video clip of the Thomas statement. Notice how Chris Matthews only says “yeah” like a starstruck schoolkid.

Do  people understand how pathetic they seem?  Fawning all over the Obama and tingles going up ones legs. Evan Thomas erroneously believes the Obama hype.  Obama can heal, and part Lake Michigan. (The Green Sea during St. Patty’s day).  How can we expect Obama to fix the world when he could not fix Chicago or Illinois?  Taking a look at the background of Mr. Thomas, you will find an interesting bit of information on Wikipedia:

Evan Thomas (born 25 April 1951 at Huntington, New York) is an American journalist and author.

A graduate of Phillips Andover, Harvard University, and the University of Virginia School of Law, since 1991 he has been the assistant managing editor at Newsweek. He formerly worked for TIME. Thomas began his reporting career at The Bergen Record in New Jersey. He won his numerous journalism awards, including the National Magazine Award in 1998 for Newsweek’s coverage of the Monica Lewinsky scandal. ..He is the grandson of the late Norman Thomas, a six-time Presidential candidate for the Socialist Party of America

ChrisObama

Evan Thomas is the grandson of a presidential candidate of the Socialist Party of America. No disrespect intended but perhaps Evan is channeling Norman Thomas and he is the one who told him that Obama is God. Too bad there was not an exorcist having a two for one deal around. We could have used one for Mr.Thomas and Chris Mathews.
