This Memorial Day weekend also means the INDY 500 race. I don’t know about the rest of you but I am pulling for 27 year old Danica Patrick who could soon become the first female to win the race. She has already won the coveted Japan 300 race and is now poised to take her historic moment by the steering wheel.
Women were not allowed to race in the Indianapolis Speedway until 1971. Janet Guthrie was the first woman to enter the Indy 500 in 1976

February 1976–Arlene Hiss becomes the first female granted a competition license by the U.S. Auto Club
If you get a chance please watch the race. This is a video of Danica’s recent interview on Fox Business News. Go Danica Go.
