A Mostly Center-Right Place For Those With Irritable Obama Syndrome and Diversity Fatigue

Diversity Fatigue Friday: The Unknown Historic Moment Quantity May 21, 2010

From I own the world

Barack Obama campaigned for his presidency during a time that the majority of Americans wanted anything that was the antithesis of George Bush. Couple that desire with the juxtaposition of the Obama persona with such African-American icons as Martin Luther King Jr. and Malcolm X, one can surely understand how the combination was a winning David Axelrod formula.

The climate wave was change, hope and the promise of a historic moment.   My PUMA counterparts did not buy into it. They had found a suitable candidate in Hillary Clinton.  Hillary offered the promise of brains, experience, substance and of course- a historic moment.  Hillary offered something in different forms . She was the best man for the job and she would have be the first female President of the United States of America.   It was clear that Hillary was more qualified than Barack Obama. Yes there was baggage but I can argue that one can expect baggage with experience.  I can tolerate some baggage depending on what kind it is.  Okay so, Hillary voted for the war on Iraq.  For me, that was a moot point.  We were already in it so let’s finish it.  I can accept that over a vote for TARP.  It was not like Obama really cared about foreign policy. Besides, Barack Obama was not in the U.S. Senate  when the vote on Iraq was taken.  How did we know what he would have done?  He was an unknown quantity.  Yes there was some information out there. The kind that was only broadcast on Fox News. The kind that Obama supporters did not want to hear about.

How were we supposed to know how Obama would have handled 9/11 or Hurricane Katrina? An economic crisis?  A major oil spill?

How did we know that he was not the same ol’ Washington Politics? Business as usual?

Now we do.

Over the Rainbows

by Jonah Goldberg
May 21, 2010

…He came into office promising rainbows and puppies for everyone and has, like Pizza Hut during a blizzard, failed to deliver. Now, before some intern at a left-wing media watchdog outfit spits Diet Snapple out his nose in outrage over my “fabrications” and “distortions,” and fires off some canned protest e-mail, I do not literally mean to suggest that Obama promised voters rainbows and puppies. Rather, I mean it figuratively. He did literally promise to change the way Washington works, unify the country, govern from the center, work with Republicans and operate the government in a fiscally responsible way. That hasn’t happened. You could look it up.

The White House desperately wants the story to be “Voters Mad at Washington,” not “Voters Mad at Democrats” or, heaven forbid, “Voters Mad at Obama.” But the simple truth is that all three things are true, and Obama deserves much of the blame.

Jay Cost, an indispensable election analyst at RealClearPolitics.com, has it exactly right: ” ‘Change that you can believe in’ has gone from an over-worked campaign slogan to an unfalsifiable hypothesis. Vote for a Dem, you support the President’s agenda for change. Vote for a GOPer, you support the President’s agenda for change.”

This spin has been a long time in coming. After the Scott Brown victory, the White House claimed that the Republican’s win was a manifestation of the same political forces that brought Obama to power, even though Brown opposed Obama’s agenda, and despite the fact that Obama lustily endorsed Brown’s opponent, Martha Coakley. Who, by the way, wasn’t an incumbent. She promised to advance Obama’s “change” agenda, and she lost. But Obama’s just so awesome that what would be political losses for lesser mortals must be more winning proof of his supercalifragilisticexpialidociousness. Because as far as this White House is concerned, nothing is ever Obama’s fault and everything is proof of how much we need him.
It’s an odd position given how the people who need him least are candidates from his own party
.

For those of you who claimed to have voted for Obama because he was a fresh, unfettered, unknown quantity – a historic moment… Tell me.  how do you feel about your choice now?

Ghosts Of Hope n’ Change Past: Haunted Houses October 31, 2009

halloween_catDamn it feels good to be a renter. I may not have equity but every month I write one check that takes care of my rent, cable and electric bill. No assessments, no real estate taxes.

Halloween Eve I was all comfy, sitting by my light switch ready fireplace, bowl of microwave popcorn and dalmatian puppy in hand. The darkness of Lake Michigan could be seen from the window of my hi-rise apartment.  The original Amityville Horror was on television. Poor things, sinking all of that money into a house only to find that it harbors an invisible pig named Jodi and leaks blood just when you were planning the house warming to end all house warmings.

A homeowner is something I have never been. Afrocity moves around too much. When I have thought of it, watching the headaches that my condo owning friends had to endure was enough to scare me into being a lifetime renter.

Let’s just consider my failure to own as a Peter Pan/Wendy complex of sorts.  I can’t commit to a piece of property no matter how beautiful she is.

Perhaps my complex is a result of the trauma that follows homelessness. If I don’t own one I can’t lose it.

Chicagoans taxes up 9 percent, Obama’s taxes up 1 percent

Obama’s bill barely edges up — but he still pays more than $22,000

October 30, 2009

BY Tim Novak

Many Chicago homeowners will see their property taxes rise sharply in the tax bills going out this week. But not President Obama. His taxes on his Kenwood mansion are up just 1 percent, records show.

Obama owes $22,456.43 in real estate taxes this year on his Kenwood mansion — $223.09 more than he paid last year, when he was running for president.

The median tax bill for city homeowners is up 9.6 percent.

That’s largely because the 7 percent exemption given to homeowners is being phased out.

But the president didn’t take that exemption during the last two years. So he’s not experiencing the pain of losing it, like most other Chicago homeowners.

Obama does pay more in property taxes than most politicians in Chicago and Cook County do, the Chicago Sun-Times found by examining online copies of the tax bills that Cook County Treasurer Maria Pappas mailed out this week. But Obama’s seeing one of the smallest increases among Cook County politicians.

witcheshalloween

Sounds like the Obamas are on the treat side of the Chicago real estate tax trick.  I am posting a comments found at the article by a Chicagoans that obviously represents the “trick” side of things:

My property taxes went up 63%!!!! An extra $2600 a year!!!!”
Of course, you are not part of the elite……You are receiving…..”change.”

“Obama and all other politicians whose only answer is to raise fees and taxes should automatically pay the max. This is the same president who wants to fund health care off the backs of those who make the most money. They should follow their own logic and have to pay the most when they claim that they need more.”

“…maybe if Pres O had bought it for full market value instead of the Tony Rezko bargain basement price he would be paying his fair share,,,, And ya gotta wonder how many haven’t paid …”

“I am not a happy camper. My taxes went up a little over 30% – an additional $700 for the second installment. My house is upside-down and I can’t get refinancing, yet someone thinks it’s okay that I pay more tax for a house that’s gone down in value. People already in dire straits are only going to go deeper in the hole. I have to think hard about whether or not it’s worth it for me to keep this house.”

President Obama's Chicago Home. President Obama paid $1.65 million for the Kenwood mansion he and his family moved into in 2005. His real estate tax bill this year is $22,456.43 -- a 1 percent increase from last year. (Sun-Times file)

Maybe the treat part of “Change You Can Believe In” is coming a little later for those of you who were tricked into voting for the Great Pumpkinhead.

Welcome To Co-Dependants Anonymous…For Obama Supporters October 23, 2009

obama-marieantoinette2Last night an acquaintance of mine says to me ” I voted for Barack Obama because he had a plan. With John McCain I did not see a plan.”

While I do not agree with his statement, I have come to terms with the idea that many people saw something in Barack Obama that apparently I and 46% of other voters did not. I am still trying to understand what they saw exactly.

Obama vs. The President He Said He’d Be

By Tom Bevan

During the campaign Barack Obama vowed he would be a different kind of leader who would move America beyond the “smallness of our politics.” That inspired promise was not an insignificant part of why he was elected last November.

In his inaugural address Obama told us that “the time has come to set aside childish things.” He promised to bring “an end to the petty grievances and false promises, the recriminations and worn out dogmas, that for far too long have strangled our politics.”

Not only has President Obama failed to live up to those promises so far, it appears that on more than a number of occasions he’s made a conscious decision to break them.

In the first nine months in office President Obama and/or members of his administration have accused doctors of performing unnecessary medical procedures for profit; demonized bond holders as “speculators;” produced a report suggesting military veterans are prone to becoming right wing extremists; attacked insurance companies and threatened them with legislative retribution; ridiculed talk show hosts and political commentators by name from the White House podium; dismissed and demeaned protesters and town hall attendees as either unauthentic or fringe characters; maligned a white police officer for arresting a black man without knowing the facts of the case; launched an orchestrated campaign to marginalize the country’s biggest pro-business group; and publicly declared war on a news organization.

Twice in the last week, perhaps carried away by the campaign atmosphere, President Obama ramped up the use of the kind of partisan rhetoric that will drive Americans further apart; once in San Francisco at a DNC fundraiser and once last night at a rally for Jon Corzine.

As a result of this strategy, President Obama’s approval rating has fallen consistently since taking office while Americans’ disapproval of the way he’s handled his job has more than doubled and is now at an all time high of 44 percent. On Wednesday Gallup reported that the 9-point drop in Obama’s approval rating between July and September was the third most precipitous decline in Presidential history and the worst since 1953.

Words are just words. Promises fall hollow for me when one does not have the experience or record to back it up.

At an early an early age, I learned to judge people by their actions and not by their words. I mention this because there was a time when I was like my mother and did not. As a girl, I felt sick at the prospect of watching her get screwed over again and again by the same people who promised a lot but delivered nothing.

The lesson: If they stood you up three times last year, they will probably stand you six more times this year.

Unfortunately, I had to apply my own rule to my mother. Her fatal character flaw was laziness and a lack of motivation, coupled ironically with a sense of entitlement. The government was there to take care of us. That was our right as African Americans. We deserved it and besides the government gets oodles of money from the taxes of rich folks like Republicans.  Her philosophy of course was quite evident in her record. Years knowing my mother– 38. Years she held a job during that time 8.2,  and I am being generous. Based on that record of 30 years without working, I gave up hoping she would become gainfully employed by my 26th year. It was just not in her. When did she finally get a job? In 1994 when she lived in the state of Texas, a state that is as red as they come… A state that does not bullshit when it comes to lazy people on government assistance.

Texas saw my mother for what she was an able-bodied lazy person, fat off years of government aid from Illinois.

On a weaned government diet, they afforded her a stipend of $69 dollars a month in food stamps with zero cash money. Within several months, she fell homeless and came to live with me in my college dorm. Luckily, I had no roommate and would sneak her in. I tolerated her for an entire summer while I went to school taking Japanese, Constitutional Law and several other ass kicking classes. I also worked two jobs at Houston law firms making $10 an hour at each, far above the minimum wage. Mother’s initial refusal to look for work angered me but I hoped she would “change”.

michelle shorts

Drowning quickly, my grades began to suffer as well as my friendships. I did not date for fear of letting out ‘”the secret”. How could I bring a potential paramour to my dorm room when my mother lived there with me in a 100 square foot space and a single bed with extra long sheets? I dropped my sorority which was my only source of leadership opportunity and networking.  Afrocity was dying. Mother loved me and wanted me to go to law school but failed to see that she was destroying me with her dependency.

missbarackomericaWas I helping my mother by helping her?

Not really.

In fact she became more dependent upon me. She refused to leave my room for fresh air or to give me space and time with friends my own age. This was obviously a turning point in our relationship for me. I was an enabler and mother needed tough love. Taking my savings, I began to look for an apartment for her. Two weeks later, I put her in a taxicab and sent her on her way. She had a one bedroom apartment, a fridge full of food, and two months rent paid in advance.

For three peaceful months, I heard not a peep from mother. The new fall semester of my senior year in college was upon me. I had dreams of moving to Japan in order to hone my language skills, possibly grad school afterward. My over-taxed exhausting summer was over, or so it seemed.  I got a phone call one night. It was mom.

“I lost the apartment and now I am in a homeless shelter,” she sounded pitiful, defeated, helpless…again.

Frozen with fear, I hung up the phone on her and ignored her calls for 4 months. Each abandoned call made me shudder with guilt. How could I do this to my mother?

The next time I spoke with her she had another apartment and a job in a retail stock room. For the first time in nearly 15 years my mother was working and not drawing a government or “Bank of Afrocity” check.

In those years, I was upset with myself for not seeing my mother as she was. Would she lose the job again? Yes in three years when she transferred to my brother’s bank of kindness and Social Security. After all she was who she was.

And Barack Hussein Obama is who he is.

As you read my words, you may have noticed that there are images of our dear leader in some of his “glorious moments” as seen through the lens of a skeptic. Are we negative? Are we failing to come up with solutions?

Perhaps. However I would say that the questions you really should be asking are of him. You voted for him.

Accepting a person unconditionally requires that you recognize that person’s faults and learn how to tolerate them. How many times have you witnessed a friend with a cheating spouse, a child who has a drug addiction, or a friend who is unreliable? What happens? They continue to see the best in that person while getting taken advantage of.

You may say “Afrocity, that is love.”

And I will answer “That is not love, that is just plain stupid.”

You are not doing that person any favors by viewing them with rose colored glasses (extra strength prescription, bifocals). You see them as they are so they can see themselves in an honest and clear manner

People will often say things to you in life that you want to believe however, your faith in them means nothing unless they are committed to keeping their word.

When it comes to elected officials, rather than falling susceptible to campaign slogans and charismatic speeches. Speeches are a dime a dozen. I liken them to rice bowls.  A clever speech can arouse your emotions and fill you up pretty quickly, yet you are left running out for a hamburger later—you need more substance, more beef.

Learn to stop being an enabler. Criticize them, listen to the arguments of the opposing side. Ask questions, look at their record, call them out for the change they promised but did not deliver on. I do not care what political party they are affiliated with.  Republican, Independent, Green Party, or Democrat– a liar is a liar.

barack-obama-liar

By the year 2012, President Obama’s record should present a pretty accurate picture of what he will and will not do.

Will you enable him by falling yet again for the same empty slogans? The same promises he will not keep? He will tell you that he did not have enough time.  I say but you promised “change” from day one, not year four.

drink upThere are two kinds of voters. The smart voters who know that candidates will say and do anything to get you into the sack. The smart voters scrutinize the notches on the candidates bedpost. The smart voters make decisions based on the present while being informed of the past. The smart voters know the difference between an albatross and an unfortunate acquaintance.

You disliked the policies of George W. Bush? Great so did I.

Does that mean I am voting against John McCain because of it? No. McCain is not Bush. In fact Barack Obama and George W, Bush have more in common.

Are you disappointed in Bill Clinton because he slept with Monica Lewinsky?  Great so am I.  Did I vote for Al Gore in 2000? Yes.

Which voter are you?

Saturday Toons: The Hope and Change All You Can’t Eat Buffet September 5, 2009

obama grannyHave you ever gone to an “all you can eat buffet” ?

If you have, more than likely you were met at the restaurant door by a beaming hostess willing to give you a nice clean white dinner plate and plastic tumbler for your iced tea.

A smorgasbord of nutritional wealth awaits you.

Depending upon the cuisine, you may have a hanker for those crab rangoons and pad thai chicken; you may go ga ga over the pancakes and sticky buns; graze at the salad offerings.

So many vertically aligned food choices, so little time. Gee this is fun, buffets with bottomless deficits are the stuff liberals are made of.

It is estimated that over 50 million people have passed through the Obama “hope and change” buffet.

Mouthing “Yes we Can” to themselves as they grab that white plate and wait in line for the refreshing leadership they so craved and deserved.  They were getting hungry out there in “Bush Country”. Life was so terrible out there.

With all of the romance of yesteryear’s Camelot, Obama’s supporters want that piece of the pie they were promised.  However, amid all the shining happy liberals holding hands there is a cloud hovering over the hope and change buffet.  Famous for not keeping his promises, President Barack Obama has remarkably made the meal selection process less painstaking.

Nothing truly appetizing lies in the stainless steel food chambers. I see some grease filmed cream of arugula soup, crusty vegetable medley casserole straight from Michelle Obama’s White House garden. The menu shows an abundance of crow. It is safe to assume that the food must be good, the flies seem to think so but why is everyone just standing here?  Suddenly press secretary Robert Gibbs voice is piped in through a loud speaker, interrupting a beautiful rendition of “At Last” by house speaker Nancy Pelosi.

“Ahem, idio- I mean people please walk, don’t run to the buffet. In response to the great demand on President Obama by corporate hacks and lobbyists that he said would have no part in his administration, there may be a few minor delays in the food getting out to you. For ease of selection you all will be getting served a whopping huge plate of nothing.”

Food is getting so low at the hope and change buffet that Obama supporters have resorted to cannibalism. A finger was bit off the hand of a conservative this week and savagely devoured by a rabid moonbat.

Wow, a huge plate of nothing. Now there’s a palate pleaser. Certainly, the road to recovery will be long and hard for the millions crowded ’round the hope and change buffet.  I must say from the looks of complacency, they are all taking this pretty well. Come Oscar time, we are sure to see accolades delved out to the liberals for playing the “patience is a virtue, even tho’ it sucks”  role with such convincing authenticity.

Hey, someone better get Rosie some food she looks pretty hungry.

From the Wall Street Journal:

The Jobless Stimulus

It’s still not too late to redirect $400 billion to business tax cuts.

SEPTEMBER 5, 2009

The recession may be over on Wall Street and Silicon Valley, but on Working Family Avenue it still has a ways to run. That’s the lesson of yesterday’s August jobs report that showed losses of 216,000, which believe it or not is the slowest monthly decline in a year and caused the White House to praise with the faint damn that the “trajectory is in the right direction.” That’s the good news.

On the other hand, the jobless rate popped up to 9.7%, the highest rate in 26 years, from 9.4%, reflecting an increase in the size of the labor force. The main concern we see going forward is the slow pace of new job creation to soak up the 7.4 million workers who have lost jobs since 2007.

There are now 26 million Americans who can’t find a full-time job. Average weekly hours remained at an abysmally low 33.1—which is putting a strain on family budgets. And the jobless rate including so-called discouraged workers, or those who have stopped looking, leapt to 16.8% from 16.3% in July. Meanwhile, the number of Americans working part-time who want full-time work increased by 278,000 to 9.1 million, which as a share of the workforce is larger than at any time since the recession of 1982. These are the workers that employers will tend to hire first as a recovery unfolds, so it is worrisome that this cohort remains so large.

None of this does much for the credibility of the Obama Administration’s stimulus spending plan, which was sold with the promise of a jobless rate this year of “below 8%” if the stimulus were passed. That was off by some three million jobs in a mere seven months. The same economists who fretted in February that $780 billion in stimulus was too small now claim that the $300 billion or so that has been spent has somehow ignited the recovery.

But a tax-cutting stimulus would have provided much more job and economic growth for the buck, and it could even now too. If the Administration really wants to fire up private job creation, how about taking the remaining $400 billion or more and using it to lower business taxes? The unspent stimulus is enough for a two-year down payment on repealing the U.S. corporate income tax, which studies show is a job and wage-increase killer.

Congress could also reconsider its July minimum-wage increase of 70 cents an hour, which almost certainly contributed to the leap in teenage unemployment to 25.5% in August. The rate was 24% in June and 23.8% in July, before the wage hike started to price low-skilled teens looking for jobs out of the workplace. Congress would be wise to suspend the increase until the overall jobless rate falls below 7%.

Of course neither of our proposals is going to happen given the current policy views in Washington, but someone has to speak up for workers who want a job, as opposed to those lucky enough to still have them.

Global Plate Warming buffet while Referencing the "Holy Goran" is a sure way to keep your mind off watching the door for the waiters to bring more food. Hey how did he get that tiurkey leg when you have nothing????

Global Plate Warming buffet while the legendary man bear pig, references the "Holy Goran" is a sure way to keep your mind off watching the door for the waiters to bring more food. Hey how did he get that turkey leg when you have nothing????

At the beginning, I knew that the hope and change buffet was a bunch of baloney. There was a huge amount of illusion going on in the Obama campaign. Illusion leads to disillusionment which hopefully leads to no reelection in 2012. This is a sensitive subject for Obama’s supporters. Afraid to admit they were taken in by the pied piper, they create distractions by charging racism. There is no racism at the hope and change buffet. None of you are being served. You can sit wherever you want, as long as you realize that all will equally get nothing in return for your support. Botch and whine stew is a perennial favorite among liberals. Your dear leader has seen to it that you have plenty of opportunities to enjoy your hoped cooked culinary concoction while pussyfooting around what really matters to you and your family at the same time. President Doubtfire will promise you an eclipse on Christmas day, but I doubt you will ever need to get out your safety glasses.

Curator’s Corner: Barack Obama and the History of Kool Aid July 29, 2009

ka23Which came first sweetened or unsweetened Kool Aid? I am not sure because my mother always bought the sweetened kind in the canister. Sugar, being the precious commodity that it was in my home, was far too expensive to use on a powdered drink mix. In fact, I think the Kool Aid in my household was actually Wylers drink mix or Tang.  Regardless, during those days nearly every household on my block was filling up tall plastic tumblers with the green, blue or purple liquid.  Sure we loved it, couldn’t get enough of it. Was it healthy for us? Hell no but who cared? It was sweet, refreshing, cheap, easy to make in an instant and filled our tummies…Just like our 6 month old President Barack Obama.

Did you know that the history behind the Kool Aid and its inventor shares many commonalities with Barack Obama’s ascension to power?

I can just hear my readers murmuring that Afrocity has gone tinfoil on everyone.  I assure you that this is not the case.   Yesterday, I received an email from an Obama supporter who happened to be a Republican for most of his life. I will call him Carl.

Carl is a devout Mormon, a cancer survivor and also a retired military officer. His son also served in the military.  What possessed Carl to vote for Obama is beyond me. Perhaps it was due to the fact that Carl lives in Los Angeles and he was upset with Republican Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger. There is a slight possibility that Carl’s recent cancer diagnoses made him fearful of not being able to afford health care- so he turned to the Democrats.  It is true that Carl despises Sen.  John McCain (R-AZ)  and supported Mitt Romney in the 2008 GOP presidential primary.  Okay, I can buy that.

images64koolaidLet’s say that Carl’s  reason for voting Democrat was that he hated John McCain. He felt that McCain was a RINO and did not represent the true conservative movement.  But why then vote for Mitt Romney in the GOP primary and vote for Barack Obama in the general election? BarackObama? It is like he was snorting the same stuff as Colin Powell.

To be fair to Carl, I can attest to the fact that crazier things have happened during the 2008 election season. I voted for Hillary Rodham Clinton in the Democratic presidential primary, only to support John McCain in the general election.   Yes, there is history that in terms of political candidates, voters have switched parties between the primaries and presidential election.

So Carl really is not that different from myself. However, my feelings toward my vote for John McCain today, when contrasted with Carl’s feelings for his Obama vote, are quite opposite.  I would not change my McCain vote if you gave me a million pairs of designer shoes.  In light of events of the past six months, I am proud to say “Don’t blame me. I voted for McCain.”   There is no smell of regret on my person. No purple tinged tongue or jackass hoof prints on my back. No muscle strain from my leg being pulled.  My nose is free of ACORN pollutants.   I made the right choice and I am confident that McCain would have been better for our country than Barack Obama.

This brings me back to Carl’s email. I wish I could post it here but I won’t. Instead, lets just say that Carl is wishing he had cleaned his glasses before he married his Kenyan American, Chicago way, eloquent talking bride.  Carl’s tongue has that purple tinge to it that no amount of brushing will get rid of.  His home smells like regret.

Poor Carl. What did he ever see in Barack Obama that indicated he would have made a great president? You cannot trust a man that makes so much Kool Aid.   Did you know these facts about Edwin Perkins the maker of Kool Aid?  I learned about him through this web page of the Hastings Museum of Natural and Cultural History in Nebraska.
ad

1. Kool Aid  was invented in 1927 by Nebraskan, Edwin Perkins  who was always fascinated by chemistry and enjoyed inventing things.  (Afrocity says: Barack Obama likes to invent things too. Such as phony stories about his mother and father meeting in Selma, Alabama)

2. In high school, Perkins “…sent away for a kit called “How to Become a Manufacturer.” During the following years, Perkins graduated from high school, published a weekly newspaper, did job printing, served as postmaster and set up a mail order business called “Perkins Products Co” to market the numerous products he had invented.” ( Afrocity says: Sounds like a community organizer to me.)

3.  Perkins also developed a remedy to kick the tobacco habit called “Nix-O-Tine.”  (Afrocity says: Hmmm, so he most likley was a smoker…like Obama)

4.  Before Kool Aid was distributed in powdered packets in 1927, it was first sold as a liquid concentrate and called Fruit Smack.  When shipping of the glass bottles became a problem, Perkins developed a way to extract the liquid from Fruit Smack leaving only the powder. (Afrocity says: This is similar to Obama extracting the good stuff from the DNC and leaving the powdery garbage that liberals are smoking now.)

5. “By 1931, the demand for Kool-Aid® was so strong, other items were dropped so Perkins could concentrate solely on Kool-Aid®. He moved the entire production to Chicago for more efficient distribution, to be closer to supplies and to be able to expand even further if necessary.” (Afrocity says: Interesting how Kool Aid and Obama both moved to Chicago to be closer to resources in order to expand)

6. “During the Great Depression, Perkins cut the price in half to just 5¢ a packet, a “luxury” most families could afford. Young entrepreneurs sprung up across the country setting up Kool-Aid® stands. While most of the profits were consumed by the youngsters, it was something most children enjoyed.”  (Afrocity says: A-ha!!! Setting up stands…sounds like ACORN)

7.  “Perkins introduced off-shoots of Kool-Aid® including pie fillings and ice cream mixes. These products never really took off with the public. During World War II, fruit acid and dextrose rationing prevented any expansion“  (Afrocity says: Very similar to Obamacare and the stimulus package)

suckaGet my point? When we told Carl not to drink the Kool Aid, there was solid history behind it.  Now Carl looks and sounds like this female police officer in Cambridge, MA. After Obama’s foot in mouth disease over ” Gates Gate”, now she feels Obama has played her for a fool.
