Catty Corner: How Liberal Women Get Skin In The Game November 17, 2010

Can someone please tell me why Tina Fey cannot seem to keep Sarah Palin’s name out of her mouth?  Could it be because she is desperately in need of attention despite having 30 Rock be a hit?  Could it be that she needs a personality?

After all if you Google “Tina Fey” and look for images, all you will mostly find is Tina’s bony ass posing in provocative tiny leg showing outfits.  Obviously, Tina really wants you to dog ear every page of a magazine she appears in. ” Wow, that Tina Fey is funny and sexy” she wants you to say.   However, we seem to have an epic fail here because all I see when

I look at Tina Fey is a confident-less woman who feels physically unattractive and uninteresting so she needs to bare as much skin as she can in every magazine and attempt to ridicule a woman (Sarah Palin)  over and over and over and over and over and over and over again, so she be the cool girl on the block.

It is also an amusing irony that Ms. Fey authored the screenplay Mean Girls.  Obviously something she knows a lot about.  We all remember mean girls in our lives.  One of mine was named “Ronetta”.  She was a heartless bitch who lived most of her high school life in the principals office.  She dressed well, wore too much make-up but didn’t we all at that age???

Some were more forgiving of Ronetta slathering deep red lipstick on her huge square shaped lips than she was forgiving of myself and other girls doing nothing besides going to class and breathing.   A rare exception it was indeed for Ronetta to pass me in the hallway and not roll her eyes.  This girl was a junior mind you and I was  a peasant freshman- why did she care about me?   The worse day came during 8th period study hall which was held in the school lunchroom.    Innocently, I was sitting with a friend talking about boys, Duran Duran- not studying- who did in study hall?

You could hear Ronetta and her band of assholes in the background- loud cackling- sitting on the lunch tables – not at them.

“Why are they so loud?”  my friend asked.

“You mean why are black people so loud?”  I asked back jokingly.

Nodding, my friend replied “I so wanted to say that.”

Further Example of Catty Liberal

I just shrugged my shoulders and shook my head.   Somehow Ronetta’s evil radar picked up on us and she started in on me.

“Look at that bitch over there with the purple eyeshadow.”

Suddenly everything was quiet as Ronetta’s lackeys obeyed the queen bee and hum buzzed to my table.

I would be lying if I said I was not afraid.  I would be lying even more if I said I did not want to be invisible.

“This heifer looks like Nancy Reagan with the eyeshadow.”

Laughter erupted throughout the lunchroom, rivaling the sound of Mount Saint Helen.

“Look at her fizzy wuzzy nappy ass hair.”

By now you are asking Afrocity “what did you do?”.

The answer is – nothing.

Because my mother always taught me to ignore bullies, I usually just walked away from threatening situations .  In this case, I could not. I sat there without a hall pass to escape.   The bell literally saved me as the bitch crew scurried off to their next adventure of  wreaking  torment.

That day would go down as one of the worst in my high school history.  Today, I would not handle it that way.   A transformation came over me in college.  I developed a “back off gene”.   What happened to my mean girl?   I have only seen a picture of her but she still slathers red lipstick over her ugly square lips and looks FAT.

Mean girls may turn into mean women but inside there is still a whiny person screaming for attention at the expense of someone else.

Not all women follow the path of liberalism.  To Tina Fey and other liberal loudmouths like Rosie O’Donnell and Joy Behar, that is a sin against women.   Gee Rosie and Joy,  what disconnected names for two women who are so obnoxious.

Sadly, Tina actually got slight applause before she ruined her gratitude to Sarah with her further comments. What a missed opportunity of true grace and class.  Tina could have stood up for all women.

But I suppose she feels that Jerry Brown beating Meg Whitman was good for all women because Meg was a whore.  Or that Sarah Palin losing in 2008 was good for all women because she was a cunt.  Obama is good for all women because he calls us “sweetie”.

From I own the World

Much has been made of PBS cutting some of her speech, which I find ironic because had she been a conservative woman, Anderson Cooper would have no problem with cutting off her head let alone a speech  How dare you deprive everyone of the full experience of Tina’s anti-Palin rant?  Palin is like Marilyn Monroe to these women but what makes them hate her more is that Sarah ain’t no candle in the wind.

This is all pretty pathetic but not as pathetic as Tina Fey.  Her behavior actually further dumbs her down and really only makes her look like someone who owes her fame to a woman that she agrees on nothing with.  Hmmm,  now if I disliked a person so much why would I give them so much importance in my life?

Tina was your career nothing before Sarah Palin came along?

Sarah and her 5 million viewers want to know, and like you Tina- your material is getting OLD.  Time to find another target- one who gives a damn.  Wasn’t there a moment when Tina said that she was glad McCain lost the election so she would not have to “play” Sarah again???

Well Tina, America helped you “be done playing this woman”…Now what is your excuse.

Just pathetic mean girl with nothing else to do with her life?

Medical Misogyny: A Cut Above The Rest September 28, 2010

Georgia Cattle Queen, elected by the Georgia Cattlemen's Association, talking with Democratic members of the Georgia House of Representatives in the House chambers.

As if it wasn’t bad enough that I had endured the morning without deodorant,  Chicago was boasting an unseasonable 86 degree temperature in of all times the middle of September.

I crawled from my traffic stuck Moroccan chauffeured  taxicab, and struggled past a group of anti-Bush protesters. Yes anti-Bush.

Now that Obama is president and George W.  is back in Texas,  the IMPEACH BUSH signs have insanely transformed  into INDICT BUSH signs . Tie Dyed tunics and White people with dreadlocks are always a sign of moonbats for me- I had to move fast,  running late for a medical appointment.

Once I arrived sweaty and  frazzled at my destination, I was greeted with a smile, some insurance forms and an offer of wrapped Ghirardelli chocolate squares or Nespresso coffees. Politely, I declined, the pleasantries of the peach and sage green wallpapered office failed to mask the austerity of my situation. As I pumped from the hand sanitizer on the receptionist desk, I had no idea what I would be in store for that day as a woman.

Political party affiliation aside, one ritual all women seem to share is the face grimacing and “God please let this be over” prayers whispered during a mammogram.

My first which I am describing in this post, was two weeks ago. I was a year overdue.
My gynecologist scolded me verbally “self exams are not enough,” she warned. “You are two months past 41 – time to do it annually now.”

“But…but there is no history of breast cancer in my family.” I protested. “Can’t I wait until 45. I eat lots of soy.“
“…and you want to stay breast cancer free don’t you???”

All of the preparative girl talk mammogram horror stories in the world could not describe my true feeling as the nice but relentless four foot eleven-ish medical assistant plopped my left breast on a cold metal slab like a piece of meat and I watched a closing wall and increasing digital numbers squeeeeeeeeeezeeeeee until my brown face turned blue.

“Tell me if it hurts,” she chimed. She was too damn happy for me. Smiling while inflicting pain should be illegal.

It does hurt, but let me guess,  if I told you the truth  you will keep doing it anyway, I thought.

Instead I smiled back and lied, ” No, it’s fine.”  THANK YOU MA’AM CARE TO CRANK IT UP SOME MORE???

That piercing sound the machine made when the picture was being taken – like music to my ears.

“Turn to the side dear,” she instructed. “Bend your knees some.”

Turn to left, right, gee all we needed was me holding some board with my name on it and we have a mug shot.

Every year for the rest of my life I will have to do this because I am woman.

I wondered if men have to go through something similar? Yes prostate gland checks they endure, but do men have to submit to a machine that squeezes their testicles sideways and top to bottom in a way that make them feel like pancakes?

Speaking of which, my breasts could have used a pat of butter and some whipped cream, and maple syrup by the end of the procedure. I re-gowned and slowly walked to the locker room.
“Don’t put your clothes on yet, honey,” the technician said. “The doctor will review your results and if I made a mistake you may have to have it done again.”
Great !!! More torture in the name of cancer prevention.  I bet a man invented that boob presser machine.

Take a wrench and twist my nipples off why don’t you? Saute me, make a patty melt!

Peta ad- which while it promotes kindness to animals, does not look very kind to women.

The waiting room had two more patients awaiting slaughter when I sat back down.  Each woman  had this look of dread as they flipped through the predictable periodical selections. Good Housekeeping, Parent Magazine, In Style, People, US.

Who buys this stuff?

Of course every woman wants to read the latest on Lindsey Lohan  and know exactly how to make the perfect autumn wreath made of cloves before she gets sliced and diced.

You never go to a waiting room for women and see Money magazine, Fortune, Wired or the Economist.

I just had a mammogram and damn-it I need to read a magazine to forget what just happened to me in that torture chamber they call a doctor’s office…Is there a recipe in that magazine for pressed Afrocity breast with braised leeks?

Oops my name was called, the doctor wanted to see me.  Ah, great it was a he.

“Your breasts look great!”  the doctor said with this big smile that I wanted to slap off his face. ” …No lumps, you obviously work out…” He went on about the digital technology of the photographs, and on, and on….and on.

Getting serious for a moment, I thought of my mother.  She only had one mammogram in her entire life and that was after she fell on her breast at the age of 54.  Later bloody discharge was noticed and she went for two months in fear until a neighbor took her to a free clinic.  All was well, she had just injured some tissue.  Her mammogram should no signs of cancer. She never went back again, lived to be 68- cancer free but killed by another misogynistic woman claiming disease- high blood pressure- breast cancer’s silent relative.

Explaining to the doctor that I once had a benign cyst, found by ultrasound some years ago,  I began to let go of the sarcasm and grasp the reality my good fortune.  My career allows me to have health insurance- reliable health insurance.  This doctor was of my own choosing. The medical technology is state of the art.  My hospital ranks among the best in the nation according to U.S. News and World Reports.

“No sign of any cysts now.” he assured.

Looking at the cloud like  images of  my breasts,  I could see no imperfections but I needed to be sure- really sure. “Are you positive because at the time it was rather large about 2 centimeters and they never aspirated it-”

“No you are fine,” he again assured me.” Keep doing your self exams…see you next year.”

I nodded “See you next year. Thank you.”

My soft clothes were so much more comfortable that that Japanese styled wrap gown. I had even brought my own deodorant and even though the med-tech told me they would supply me with some, I was glad to have my own.   Ah, clothes on, no more perspiration, my dignity as a woman was restored or so I thought.
My mammogram was over but the pesky anti-Bush protest was not. Patience Afrocity, your breasts just survived a medical industry made steamroller, you can do it. Moonbat screeching surrounded me. Come on Afrocity there is only about 100 of them …
“Tax the rich motherfuckers”
“IRAQ WAS A FUCKING LIE”
“INDICT BUSH, FUCK SARAH PALIN, FUCK MICHELLE BACHMAN, FUCK MEG WHITMAN”

Gee that’s a lot of fucking. For an anti-Bush rally this was shaping up to be more of an anti-conservative women rally. Bush was just a front for women bashing and many of the protesters were taking part in it… Sad.

Before I went home, the pain from the mammogram worsened.  A big contributor was the large bag of groceries I had picked up along my way.  Not a good idea Afrocity.  Wobbling down the sidewalk, two men in front of me were oblivious of my swift walking breast hurting self.  Seeing that they would not move for me, I slowed behind them and listened to their conversation.

It was about a typical male subject- women and sex.   One man was younger than the older who was about 50- something.

“I tell you,”  the older man said to the younger. “there is nothing better than a pretty woman who cannot speak English.”

My feet stopped walking, I needed a rest from the grocery bag and the sexism. No longer wanting to share aura space with someone who would make such a cruel comment, I let the two men walk a half block in front of me.

His moronic implication was simple:  A non English speaking woman is nothing.  Only there for his consumption. Just use her and like meat she would not be able to talk back in way that her needs would be understood or met.

Those words almost hurt more than my mammogram.

My arms rested, I began to carry on. The men were not  too far ahead of me. Every thought of his misogyny made me want to catch up to them even more.

Hmmm,  a bag full of groceries, painful breasts,  and two meat-heads in plain sight.   Dr. Afrocity Lecter was in the mood for a nice bottle of Chianti and some fava beans.  She walked ever so slowly and quietly…little were they aware of her cannibalistic presence. …

“Palinator”: The Sarah – O’Donnell Chronicles September 16, 2010

If anything has been invented by a politically involved woman during the last two years it has been the secret to truly derailing the most vile and senseless criticism.

Criticism that would make most of us crawl in bed with some Essie nail polish and a flashlight.

What is that secret you ask?

One simple  little word that would make a terrific  name for a MAC lipstick color…Success!

Kill em with kindness is the old girl’s way of dealing with adversaries.

Murder them with success is the new and improved way.

No one tromped the critics on the left or right better than Sarah the RINO killing Palinator.  One endorsement from Palin Power could put you on the political map- especially if you are a true conservative woman.

Just ask Christine O’Donnell (R-DE) or Nikki Haley (R-SC).

The Palinator takes a main stream media beating and keeps on ticking. But only very recently would everyone come to respect and possibly fear the woman they once referred to as a pig with lipstick.

On November 4th, 2008,  the entire nation including yours truly  did not exactly know what would happen to the woman who almost was the United States Vice President.

Well some of us did not know but others….

“Take your all of your whores back home John Mc-lame- especially Sarah Palin!”  yelled a young twenty-something man, lacking in couth and deodorant . The setting was a medium north side café in Chicago.  I was eating a corned beef and Swiss sandwich which was normally my favorite but the memory of the night before were still plaguing my brain.

The Obamabots were dancing in the streets and judging from the number of “walk of shamers ”  I espied  Wednesday morning, they had been dancing in the sheets as well. Nothing like Kool Aid  filled diaphragms to quench your political thirst.  Please do not pro-create Obamabots, please after Obama gets done with us, there won’t be enough of other people’s money for you liberals to spend.

Yes, Afrocity was a bitter little pill. Correction-  Afrocity was a entire bottle of bitter little pills.

How could America be sooooo stupid?

Numb. Just numb.  That is the only way I can describe my feelings on that day. Let’s not even get into the whole Afrocity eight years previous to that day would have been dancing over a Democrat presidential win.  Oh, God this means at least four years with the Hope and Change BS and historic moment hype.

How will I get through this…I am too old to teach English in Japan.

Pinch me please.

Is it just my imagination or was the DNC just hijacked by Jolt Cola sucking millennials, women–oops I am sorry- feminists– who love being kicked in the butt by donkeys,  nutty bomb making professors and aging hippies suffering from white guilt?

Is this a nightmare?

No.

Obama won fair and…  well nevermind.

The night before was a blur but it did happen.

Hazy images of  John McCain saying he lost came to my recall center.   I remembered Sarah that night too.

As she stood next to her older and battered running mate,  Sarah seemed sad and  compassionate.  McCain was about to be done- at least on the executive branch front.   He gave his concession speech- which was one of the best and most gracious presidential election concession speeches I have ever heard in my lifetime.  There was no doubt that Sarah’s  eyes had that glassy fighting back tears appearance- something had quieted her spirit – but it was to be only for a moment.

Then John McCain gave the pitbull with lipstick a well deserved bone:

From John McCain’s Concession Speech – November 4, 2008

I am also — I am also, of course, very thankful to Gov. Sarah Palin, one of the best campaigners I’ve ever seen … one of the best campaigners I have ever seen, and an impressive new voice in our party for reform and the principles that have always been our greatest strength … her husband, Todd, and their five beautiful children … for their tireless dedication to our cause, and the courage and grace they showed in the rough and tumble of a presidential campaign.

We can all look forward with great interest to her future service to Alaska, the Republican Party and our country.

After several more paragraphs, McCain concluded his speech. I watched Sarah Palin wave her hand at the Arizona crowd and disappear.  Where is she going ?  She made politics exciting again- now she is leaving.  Was McCain correct in his assessment of  the woman from Alaska?  Would she really want to come back after what the media did to her?  Maybe a better question would be would they let Sarah come back?

“God I was so sick of hearing Palin’s annoying voice,”  said one woman watching the cafe television. “She was so…provincial…and stupid. What a dumb woman.”

Laughter from her booth mates.  They were annoying me on so many punishable by death levels.  Mustard on fries, greasy hair and leftover Obama paraphernalia on their coats.   And very near the end when they went to the cashier to pay for their food, one enlightened idiot declared: “Power to the socialists. Obama rules Fuck yeah!”

It was gonna be a long, long four years.

But I was being selfish.  If it was bad for me, what was Sarah Palin going through? As if having to give up a killer RNC paid for wardrobe was agonizing enough for any woman (Oh those red peep-toe  Biden debate shoes- be merciful and let her keep those.)

…Sarah was accused of  serving as spare parts Hillary Clinton- estrogen substitute- RNC ticket fluff who was not intellectually grounded enough to read magazines like Ms. and Mother Jones (snicker). Palin’s family was also overwhelmingly scrutinized and skewered with no mercy.  She would have to be crazy to want to ever leave Alaska again.

But really I could not tell what Sarah Palin was thinking.

Now, nearly two years later…I know exactly what Sarah was thinking.

The Palinator within her, was struck by the limitations of her running mate and the Republican establishment.

She took meticulous mental notes on the inside of her mind’s palm.

Like a digital screen words were darting across her field of vision.   Before she walked off the stage with John McCain, she scanned the crowd and said to herself in true Palinator fashion:

I’LL BE BACK.

From this article in the NY Daily News:

Sarah Palin becomes GOP power broker, endorses winning Tea Party candidate Christine O’Donnell

BY Aliyah ShahidSeptember 15th, 2010

One thing has become abundantly clear from Tuesday night’s primaries: Sarah Palin’s endorsements matter.

Palin and Tea Party-backed conservative Christine O’Donnell pulled off a stunning upset over nine-term Rep. Mike Castle in the Republican Senate primary in Delaware 53% to 47%.

O’Donnell gave a nod to the former Alaska governor during her victory speech on Tuesday night.

“Thank you, Gov. Palin, for your endorsement,” the Tea Party candidate said. “Because she got behind us war-weary folks, and gave us a boost of encouragement when we needed it.”

O’Donnell wasn’t Palin’s only win on Tuesday. In Wisconsin, Palin-backed Sean Duffy — an ex-district attorney and castmate in MTV’s “The Real World” — handily won the Republican primary Tuesday for a U.S. House seat.

And in New York, Michael Grimm defeated his opponent in the Republican primary for a House seat representing Staten Island. And in New Hampshire’s Republican Senate primary, Kelly Ayotte, the state’s attorney general (who is backed by Palin) narrowly won against Tea Party backed Ovide Lamontagne in a multi-candidate race.

And then there are other winning candidates, particularly in the Tea Party, that Palin has endorsed this election season — demonstrating her ability to catapult nobodies into virtual stardom. There’s Joe Miller in Alaska, Rand Paul in Kentucky, and Nikki Haley in South Carolina…

With her decision to step down as Alaska’s leave no caribou behind governor,  Sarah exchanged her hunting book for Facebook and a Fox News commentator gig.  She came back armed with extended wear lipstick to kick some serious RINO butt and get the Republican party back to sowing its conservative oats again.

Kill em’ with success- it works.

Some of Palin’s successes are other’s headaches. The O’Donnell victory in Deleware challenges the Republicans to come to terms with contradictions in their own party.  Sarah is anti-establishment no matter what side of the political spectrum you are on. Yesterday on the O’Reilly Factor, Sarah sat quietly through one of Bill’s mini-lectures.  If you recall the events following Christine O’Donnell’s win,  Karl Rove- also known as  “The Architect”   among the GOP was not too happy about what the Tea Party was building in Delaware.  He made that very clear on the Hannity show Tuesday night when he delivered what probably was one of the more “skeptical”  assessments of O’Donnell.   By mid-morning Wednesday, there were calls out for Rove’s hide.  OReilly being O’Reilly just had to push Sarah on the Rove issue but she quickly dismissed Bill-O’s argument:

Boy she dropped kicked that argument like O-Ren Ishii cut off Boss Tanaka’s head in Kill Bill Volume I

Now if any of you RINO Republicans has anything to say…Now is the efffing time!!!

Yep, Sarah said she will be back and like a good politician she kept her promise to us and ironically John McCain who she also helped in his own Arizona senatorial re- election.

And the mainstream media said Michelle Obama would be the one to watch…

Well possibly so…That is if watching vegetables grow in the White House garden is more your cup of feminist speed…  Afrocity prefers to skip the arugula and take her tea with two lumps of Palinator- you betcha!

Hillary and Barry- An Apathy Story September 10, 2010

During the last six months, I have read all sorts of articles which speculate that our Secretary of State Hillary Clinton will make a run for it against President Barack “Barry” Obama in 2012.

I voted for Hillary in the DNC Illinois primary.  I supported her despite my African American family telling me that I was a traitor to my race.

“Color before gender!”  they told me. “Send money to Obama now.”

I ignored them.

As a former New Yorker, she was my senator and I felt her qualities were impressive.  She was the better man or woman for the job.  However legitimate the claims of African Americans concerning a lack of black representation at the executive and legislative branches of government;  it did not warrant my voting for the empty suit who was my “present” voting senator from Illinois.

Once the Democratic primaries were over and “Barry O.” was “declared” the winner, my support of Hillary remained.  I joined the PUMAs  and made sisterhood with like-minded women who believed that Hillary and womankind were dealt a sexist blow. Unlike more than most if not all PUMAs,  I was conservative in my views. Throwing my support behind John McCain and Sarah Palin was not as difficult for me as it was for some PUMAs and you know me here at my blog as a “conservative PUMA”.

Afrocity is a Republican now- still a feminist and still supporting women who want to venture into politics right or left.  I just may not agree with all of them but the more women in politics, the better it will be for our gender in the future. No woman should be silenced.

But what of Hillary? Was she silenced after her 2008 loss to Obama and betrayal by the DNC?

Would she remain the Senator from New York and regroup for a 2012 run against an arrogant demagogue that is sure to be a one termer like Jimmy Carter?

No.

She would throw her support behind Barack Obama and later join his administration as  Secretary of State.

And then I began to distance myself from the woman I had once campaigned for so adamantly.

The shock of seeing Hillary surrounded by hope and change logos was not an easy Kool aid drink to swallow. I know that she is a forgiving soul. She did it for her husband and she did it once again for Barack Obama.  Perhaps she even did it for the Democratic Party.

But not I.

Obama was/is just a DNC tool.

It was the DNC that was Hillary’s true nemesis and if I were she I would not have helped the DNC one bit. There was an irony in their view that she should help Obama campaign.

Sure we are the party of women- but we will beat you down and call you vile names- even develop hysterical blindness and disown you- but woman you had better get up the next day and fix our damn breakfast. After Hillary and her supporters -including myself- fought valiant battles to break down barriers of sexism and race bating during the primary-  I was disappointed that Hillary woke up in bed with the enemy.

If you recall it was only a few weks after Hillary made her famous orange pants suit speech at the 2008 Democratic National Convention in Denver, that  GOP VP nominee Sarah Palin gave her “pitbull with lipstick” speech at the Republican National Convention in St. Paul, Minnesota.

The same path of sick ironic feminism that led the DNC to gun down Hillary Clinton months earlier had found a new target in the governor from Alaska.  Fresh organic, caribou fed  meat for them to sink their teeth into.  While Hillary did not join in on the frenzied anti- Palin media feast, I was not particularly impressed that she did not expressively  speak out against it either.

Perhaps Hillary was upset that this tape of Palin critiquing her response to the negative media cover quickly surfaced:

At the core of anti-Palin rumors was the divisive meme:  women who are “pro women” should not vote for McCain just because he chose Palin-a woman- because she is 1) pro-life  2) dumb as rock salt and 3) does not really have respect for Hillary- a woman- as demonstrated by documented proof of her calling Hillary a “whiner”.

I do not believe that Sarah Palin was calling Hillary a whiner.  In fact Sarah prefaced her statements in that clip “with all respect” .  Sarah’s position in regard and response to media criticism- and I have mentioned this in a precious post-  is quite different from Hillary Clinton’s.  The former, meets it head on not really mentioning it much. Sarah just rolls it down and keeps on coming.  No tears, or “perceived whines”.  If anything, the clip shows you that Sarah practices what she preaches as she did with giving birth to Trig despite the news that he would have Down’s Syndrome and supporting her daughter’s teenage pregnancy.  She is a pitbull with lipstick.

However different their handling of the patriarchy and media criticism,  I honestly cannot see Sarah campaigning for someone like Barry even if Barry was in elephant’s clothing. Let’s say that Mitt Romney is neck and neck with Palin in the GOP primary and the campaign is name slinging nasty on the Romney camp’s part.  I do not think that Sarah would help the man later.  Screw the GOP! The man does not conform to her values as a good conservative.

When Hillary aided the Obama campaign, I felt that it was an endorsement of his values.  It seemed rather staged and there was no real unity behind it.

Few Democrats for Obama that I knew,  said they would support Hillary had she been the primary’s victor.  And you know what??? I believed them.

If Obama loses…I ain’t voting for that bitch. I don’t care if she is Democrat…I just won’t vote.”

Obama would not have supported her had she won- unless he was made the VP nominee– a courtesy that was not extended to her.  With the spread of Kool Aid zombie fever, I would not have “took one for the team” as they say.  Also, screw the “keep your enemies close”  thing.  Stand up and tell your supporters not to vote for this special interest pandering race baiting charlatan.  Sure, I smiled when she was as announced as Secretary of State.  That was quite a feat for a former First Lady.  But when she sat at the picnic table with Baby Barry.

April 9, 2009- Official White House Photo by Pete Souza

I felt sorry for her and I felt even more sorry for the people that she led to Kool Aid mountain to support him and his failing policies.

PUMA’s- well some of them- stood strong and did not vote for Barry.  Simofish, Regency, Angie, Lana to name a handful.  No way and no freaking how.  Barry O. is bad news.  You can be as liberal as rolled up ground hemp and at the end of the day, Barry is not just bad for Democrats who supported Hillary- Barry is bad for America.  Hillary and her supporters who voted for him are also responsible for the stimulus, TARP, uncontrolled debt and anything else Obama has fumbled.

Yeah, right!

And that is why when I see articles like this one on The American Thinker blog:

September 10, 2010

Hillary Clinton’s Campaign for ’12 Is Underway

By Lee Cary

…Hillary is preparing to run against President Obama for the ’12 Democrat nomination by wielding the two-edged issue of fiscal responsibility and national defense. She’ll align herself with moderate establishment Republicans, like Bob Gates, just as she made nice with John McCain. She’ll be the moderate Democrat in the race, even though she called herself a “modern progressive” during the last campaign. In her unscripted remarks above, she juxtaposed “conservative” with “progressive” rather than with “liberal.” Expect to hear more of that ahead.
Hillary will tout her long-established involvement with the health care issue as offering her the unique ability to convert the hash — she’d never use that word — of ObamaCare into a sirloin of change that Americans will find more palatable, and even embrace. She’ll talk McCain’s Crossing-the-Isle Talk. He might even campaign for her.
Hillary will cite Bill’s fiscal record as president and mention in favorable terms Newt Gingrich and the Republican Congress who once helped bring fiscal responsibility to Washington, D.C. Let’s return to those days of bipartisan cooperation, she’ll say. End the stridency once and for all. Her supporters will shout, “It’s her turn. It’s her turn.”
Her strongest talking point will be that she’s untarnished by what Barry, Nancy, and Harry have done to the country, although she’ll never say that directly. Some wondered at the time why she agreed to become Secretary of State. But had she stayed in the Senate, she’d either be tarnished by the Democrats’ legislative heavy-handedness of the last two years or be at odds with her own party. In either case, she’d be damaged goods by now. If asked why she didn’t speak out earlier, she’s already answered that, saying, “I am by law out of politics.” Raise your hand if you believe that.

When Hillary runs against Obama again, she can’t lose the support of blacks since against Obama, she never had them on her side anyway. But she could offset their failure to vote if Obama isn’t on the ticket by gaining heavy support from Hispanics. Plus, blacks are not going to vote for a Republican in any significant numbers under any circumstance. If wind-blown moderates perceived the GOP nominee as too conservative, Hillary will regain their support by positioning herself as a moderate middle-of-the-roadie.

Pure speculation? Obviously. Ridiculous? Perhaps.

Hillary 2012…I really do NOT care.

No…Really I don’t.  Afrocity will not buy tickets to that beltway show.

2012 is two years away but at the moment there is no ultimate case for me supporting Hillary Clinton should she run against Obama in a primary or as also rumored, Joe “foot in mouth diseased” Biden steps down as VP and she takes his place by Darth Obama’s side.  Neither scenario compels me to do anything except feel manipulated.  At this juncture, in her relationship with Barry and the DNC,  it is hard for me to know who Hillary Clinton really is and I don’t want to waste anymore of my time or votes finding out.

Sarah-cuda, Portrait of A Conservative Lady August 26, 2010

The turn of the political season and the months that follow up until November will pose a number of challenges for our dear Democrats. Times are a-changing for the merchants of hope and change.  Barack Obama has a low approval rating which makes him virtually a cripple when it comes to actually helping his party campaign.  How ironic is that statement he made on the Jay Leno show about the “Special Olympics”  now?

See, you should watch what you say about others. You just may end up in their predicament someday.  Now who is racing to the political finish line in a broken down economic wheelchair?

While many Democrats are fearful of November, there are an equal number of Republican incumbents who are fearful now.  Fearful of losing their own state primaries to Tea Party candidates…Especially Tea Party canidates endorsed by Sarah Palin.  If the Republicans have proven anything in the last week, it is that the Democrats are in trouble and Sarah Palin’s reputation as a conservative powerhouse is firmly established.

Like it or not, Sarah Palin is not going anywhere and no one in their right conservative mind would want her to.  To some degree I am almost happy that Sarah relinquished her position as governor of Alaska.  She did everything she said she would do after resigning.

How rare is that in politics?  She promised to keep the frivolous liberal moonbat anti-Palin  law suits away from the Alaskan people and to be more effective on the stump for the party. Sarah was truthful on both accounts.

Even Charles Krauthammer of Fox News had to recognize that he underestimated Sarah Palin.  The “hammer” is almost never wrong.  Indeed in 2008 when McCain was defeated by Obama, Palin’s critics– her male critics especially– said she was the political joke of the year.  These guys did not take her seriously then. 2010- now look at them – utterly blown away by this conservative power house pitbull, momma grizzly in lipstick and heels.

One could leave it at the conservative Palin naysayers.  Seeing Bill O’Reilly and Krauthammer succumb to Palin power is satisfying on its own merit.

BUT when “Tweety” Chris “Obama sends a tingle up my leg” Matthews of MSNBC covers the “Palin factor” , something is obviously knocking at the door of the consciousness of Obamabots. Mathews admitted that Palin had some serious political mojo going on.  Of course he had to be what we expected of MSNBC- a media sophomoric putz. He  had toturn a mere Palin robo call  into an occasion to racebait.

Wow Chris, so you just have to call Barry “President Obama”  or you are not being respectful enough.

Funny, how many times was George W. Bush just called  “Dub-ya”  or just “BUSH”?

Love the MSM double standard. Mind you, these are these same pundits that refused to call Sarah by her rightful title of”governor” yet she must call King Barry- President Obama.

Thanks to those who hate her, Sarah is quite fortunate in that the scandals and controversy pre-existed the wonderful legend she was to become.

Bristol is now pushing abstinence.  “Trooper Gate” went down like a brink in swimming pool of liberal sharks by accomplishing absolutely NOTHING but a waste of taxpayer dollars. Katy Couric is still pathetic…Tina Fey still putting her bony flat butt on the cover of any magazine that will have her.

Yep, taking a look in Sarah’s  dead bug covered rear view mirror  proves that the past effects of Palin derangement syndrome never put a some much as a  hink in her armor.  Bugs hit the window shield and they wipe off.

You knock Sarah down, she gets back up.

You push her, she pushes back harder.

And sorry PUMA sisters but I have to say that Sarah gets back on her feet with a lot less scare tissue than Hillary Clinton.

Nothing against Hillary. I love her, I supported her. There were times when I have been worried about her.  There are times when I have been disappointed…Okay really disappointed. Like I did not want her to support Barack Obama disappointed and I did not want her to become Secretary of State disappointed.

Diplomatic moves yes.

Smart moves?  In my opinion, not so much.

Again there are times when I am worried about Hillary.

But never Sarah.

Sarah is the child that a mother leaves in the sandbox with three bullies knowing that she will exit that box with at least two right hooks under her belt, some other kid’s  baseball cards and a magnificent sandcastle left behind.

Sarah is the one that makes seemingly crazy decisions and you think “Are you crazy?” .  However, you know that it would work for her and only her.

Sarah is quite a rarity in the political arena.  As a maverick, John McCain is somewhat of a paper tiger.  Sarah Palin on the other hand is the real thing.  She beat her own co-nominee at his own game.  Now she is the person that John McCain goes to for help.

Ordinarily, you would never think that the person -the man on the top of the ticket would have to beg favors from the woman in the #2 spot.  But then again this is Sarah Palin we are talking about.

Who created this star? Where did she come from? After nearly two years of bashing Sarah, the liberal mainstream media wants to know. They blame the GOP, the RNC, John McCain, Satan, even themselves. From what source of evil did this conservative she devil spawn?

From this article in The Nation:

How the Media Created a Monster: Sarah Palin

Greg Mitchell

August 22, 2010

It’s often said these days that Sarah Palin is a “media creation.” That is, the media promote and elevate her as one of America’s most popular and influential leaders, even though her approval ratings remain in the tank, by covering every appearance and statement (whether speech or tweet) as if she is the Junior President from Alaska.

But the “creation” part goes well beyond what’s happened since the 2008 campaign to keep her constantly in the public eye. It’s my view that she was created by the media even before John McCain picked her as his Veep candidate. It fact, it was exactly two years ago this week that a true (if rarely recognized) turning point in the 2008 race for the White House arrived. It came at the Democratic convention in Denver. No, it was not the good vibes about Obama, the ringing speeches by Teddy Kennedy, Michelle Obama, Bill and Hill, or by the candidate himself.

Rather, it was the electronic media’s overblown coverage of the allegedly widespread threat by female Hillary delegates, and other Clinton fans, to bolt Obama in favor of McCain that November.

As you may recall, the dissidents, known as “PUMAs,” got massive face time on TV and, it was claimed by many in the media, represented just the tip of the iceberg. And it was also said (by commentators, not just by the new, pro-Hillary media stars) that women, particularly older ones and suburban/blue-collar types who had voted for Hillary in the primaries, would likely abandon the Democrats in November.

Ok, back up a moment. My cougar ears have perked up.
Is this journalist somewhat, maybe a tiny bit attributing PUMAs  with the birth of conservative superstar Sarah Palin?  Okay she is after all a woman and PUMA does advocate for the involvement of women in top political positions  such as president or vice president.  I also recall fond memories of my PUMA sisters being very supportive of Sarah during those awful California Halloween effigy days and (shudder) the “Sarah Palin is a CUNT” tee shirt epidemic.
Regardless of political party affiliation, all women should be against the party of DICK.
No woman running for political office should ever be treated the way Hillary Clinton and Sarah Palin were in 2008.
By party of DICK, I am not speaking of Richard “Dick” Nixon – not the Republican party- but the cold hard testosterone producing  machine that is the PATRIARCHY.  I am not telling women who are Democrats to vote for Republican women or vice versa.
I am saying that all women should support a woman’s right to run for office without being sexually demeaned by her opponents or the media.  What does it mean when liberal woman stand around a picnic table laughing at the ‘dumb conservative ” woman?  It means that you are condoning the sexist and discriminatory behavior.
It should come then as no shock when soon the high heel will be on the other well manicured political party foot.

Therefore, I agree with the article. PUMA may have been a factor in the Sarah Palin equation. PUMA is the organization that drove this idea home to the minds of women everywhere.   Yes PUMAs are liberals for the most part but they are patriots for embracing a woman whose political values differed so much from their own.  That applies myself- a conservative PUMA and it also applies to Sarah Palin, Kaye Bailey Hutchinson and several other Republican women.

The article continues:

...There was no firm evidence for this, of course, and few pundits, on TV or in print, seemed to notice that the same handful of disgruntled Hillary delegates appeared on all of the shows. No matter. Obama’s possible defeat because of the possible defections was widely predicted.

Why did this end up making any difference, since the mass female defections never happened?

Because John McCain and his people bought it, hook, line and sinker. This explains the sudden (though often ill-explained) rise of Sarah Palin to the top of their VP list. The McCainites saw an opening, which really wasn’t there, and went completely overboard. Not only did a female VP suddenly look like a great idea, but she would have extra appeal to the particular type of Hillary primary voters so hyped by the media.

The preposterous media coverage of the (few) unhappy Hillaryites at the Dem convention—which was aimed not at helping Obama but maintaining interest in the affair and the coming campaign—inspired McCain to select as his running mate someone who would virtually destroy his campaign.

Recall that after months of trailing, McCain came out of his convention with a bump that led to at least a tie with Obama in the polls—then he plummeted very quickly as the truth about Palin seeped out. In addition, he had lost his chief calling card: an edge in experience on Obama. A week after the GOP convention ended, polls were already showing that, if anything, women thought less of Palin than did men.  CNN’s survey, for example, gave Obama a 50% to 36% edge over McCain, with only 13% of women saying they were more likely to vote for him because of Palin — and 11% reporting they were now less likely.

And surveys later showed that while she drew crowds she actually drove more people away from the GOP than toward it. In fact, it’s a myth that Palin was broadly “popular.”

Imagine if McCain had picked even a neutral figure such as a Pawlenty or, say, Kay Bailey Hutchison. Yes, Obama still would have won (he ran a fine campaign and the economy collapsed). But if McCain hadn’t picked Palin, it might have been a real nail biter.

Also: Sarah Palin would still be a little-known political figure probably completing her first term as governor and with no boomlet for her as a candidate for president in 2012. And Tina Fey would have missed out on another career boost.

Hmmmm, not so sure that I concur with the last bit which implies that Sarah Palin owes her exposure to John McCain. Nor am I convinced that McCain chose Sarah because he saw unhappy Democrat women during Hillary Clinton’s loss to Obama for the DNC presidential nomination.  Again with the patriarchy. We also see this meme with RNC Chairman Michael Steel. Liberals claim that he was only voted as chairman because he was black and so was Obama.

Liberals…So racially tolerant and empowering of the little people.

Only in  liberal bizarro world would, Sarah Palin, the Alaskan hayseed only be chosen  for the RNC VP spot because she was a woman. Yet somehow is now a monster to those same liberals-  a monster created by the media.

Speaking of media creations, what about Barry Obama?  You know, the President who looks in the mirror and teleprompter too much.  You want to tell me that he is not a monster created by the media?

A woman can’t just be talented- some guy has to be responsible for it.   Sarah could have ran with McCain and been as engaging as driftwood.  Only Sarah, made that election what it was.   Also laughable is the author’s conclusion that the controversy surrounding Sarah, kept the election from being a “real nail biter”.   Ha!!! McCain would have been easily defeated by Obama with more votes had Sarah not been on the RNC ticket.  Even Ann Coulter, a notorious conservative and RINO hater, admitted that she voted for Sarah Palin and not John McCain.   There are also a bunch of conservatives that pinched their noses and voted for Sarah because unlike McCain, she was a real conservative- the only one on the ticket.

Take my advice liberals.  Don’t affirm to lies you do not believe in.  Sarah is all conservative woman and she fits the universal definition of politically unstoppable.  You tried once, twice, thrice.

Even when liberals stalk her, she just keeps being the same likable Sarah.

Now if that were me, I would have that creepy stalker drinking jet fuel before he could say Air Alaska but Sarah handled him easily while remaining calm.

Keeping it real.

And after encountering someone as phony as Barack Obama- keeping it real is enough for me and obviously many voters.  I don’t care if she reads Highlights for kids everyday and he reads the Economist.  If it ain’t real, if it’s one dimensional if someone’s wife has to say that you “deigned” to go into politics – you are not fit to be my president.

Go Sarah.  I always had faith in you.

Women and Politics: Are We Strong to the Finish? February 9, 2010

Although I am a Republican, I am African American and can relate to the significance of the election of Barack Obama. Whether I like it or not, he is the first POTUS of color and as a country we have been forever changed because of it.  I do not agree with his character or policies but as far as the collective memory of this nation, he is here to stay.

I am not a mother and I probably never will be. Sure I fantasize about it, the feedings, the PTA meetings.

Would my failings as an adult and lapses in judgment cause irrevocable damage to the quality of their life?

Is it possible to be a great mom when my own childhood was so dysfunctional?  When I was raised by a single mom who collected a monthly pay check from Uncle Sam? There was no significant male figure in my life, save for a brother living military life  in Europe most of my life.

What about politics?

Someday this child will want to go out and vote or at least I hope they would want to contribute to the political process.

I also wonder if I were a mom, what would I say to he or she about Barack Obama?

Would I take a copy of Dreams of My Father, hold it in front of my child and say “Bad Man…S O C I A L I ST” ?

Would I yell idiot at the television every time Obama’s image pops up? That would be every day.

You may be surprised at this but my answer is no.

For example if my child arrived from school with a homework assignment about Obama. They have to answer five questions about Obama’s impact on our coutry.

For argument’s sake let’s pretend that the text book is full of liberal embellishments: “Obama is a great man”, “Obama saved our country from the brink of financial Armageddon, “Obama is the greatest president since FDR.”  “Racism almost kept Obama out of the White House”…

How would I handle this situation without passing on my own prejudices against the man?   This is the first president of color we are talking about.   As any good archivist/ historian, I would teach my child to do rigorous research on it’s own.  I would say that while I did not agree with Obama’s policies and I did not vote for him, his election was a pivotal moment in history for all Americans but especially for African Americans.   If the child is very young, there is no need to discuss the motivation and behavior behind Barack Obama.

Afrocity mom would bust out the”Great  Black Politicians in  History”  flash cards which hopefully have cardboard representations Colin Powell, Condeleeza Rice,  Michael Steele,  along with Barack Obama, Jesse Jackson and other prominent black Americans.  Let’s save the Obama and Bill Ayers stories  for middle or high school.  Obama was the first black president and I will not steal that moment–the very significance of it, away from my child.   If I wrote Obama off as a simpleton, say as many liberal women  particularly feminists do Sarah Palin, what would I really be teaching my child?  I just marginalized an important historical figure at the expense of my child’s freedom to choose their own heroes.

The "Fernie Swastikas" A Canadian Women's Hockey Team. In 1923 they defeated the Vancouver Amazons. What would you say to your daughter about this picture today?

Every group or identity politic has memorable stories that endure the harshness of forgetfulness.  Stories that we reiterate to each generation over and over again.  I accept that Barack Obama will be one of them.  His legacy will be held to redefinition over the years. Historians will carefully examine his accomplishments and  spin new interpretations  on Barry-O but still he will never go away.

The same can be said for women’s history.  We can be Republicans or Democrats, Independents, Tea Partiers but we still are women.

What if Sarah Palin did win presidential election in 2012?  What would women, liberals in particular say to their daughters?   “Sarah Palin is a CUNT” ? would they hang her and Piper in effigy over the local Planned Parenthood center? Or would they say: “You know what, I do not agree with this woman’s stance on abortion or gay marriage, but her getting elected to the highest office in the nation is a pretty damn big step for all women”?

As it stands now, we have all this unfolding discourse on how qualified Sarah Palin is. She must prove herself. Over and over and over again like a broken record.   No matter how many speeches Sarah gives, she still must prove herself.

I was somewhat upset with Geraldine Ferraro during this FOX NEWS interview with Megyn Kelly.  Again with the Sarah must prove herself.

I wanted to jump into Megyn’s fancy new studio and say “Hey, Gerry…I was a kid when you ran on the DNC ticket and really I think Sarah Palin gave more interview’s and is under far more media scrutiny than you ever were.”

After a year of fumbles and corpse-men, Obamatons are still chanting “All we are saying, is give Obama a chance”

Would they do the same for Sarah?

I will close this post with one of my most memorable moments in Afrocity once watched cartoons history.  Precious and is this episode of Popeye the Sailor Man.  Olive Oyl imagines herself as being President of the United States of America.  She fights sexism and partisan politics, she has a male secretary. Please watch and I am sure you will be equally entertained and frightened that this antique film reel still captures the underpinnings of a woman’s struggle in politics today. It will take a helluva lot more than a can of spinach to get a woman in the White House sowing the seeds of legislation and real change instead of organic arugula.

Political Holiday Wish List: That Feminists Would Know What A Feminist Looks Like December 10, 2009

Vintage Cover of MS. Magazine

Growing up during the 1970′s persuaded me to swallow the huge bitter slow time released pill of feminism. Housewife bad. Career woman good. Armed with birth control pills and college degrees as women, we marched in step the women’s liberation movement. By the time I was a teenager, something shifted. A good woman could now balance everything– work and family.  Drive a Land Rover to her corporate job in New York City while making Juicy Juice popsicles for her artificially inseminated triplets.  Magazines such as Working Mother went into circulation. Nannies, the Today sponge,  Wonder Bras, Monica Lewinsky, Hillary Clinton, Sarah Palin…Yes Sarah Palin.

How does feminism solve a problem like Sarah Palin???  A conservative, gun toting candidate for the 2008 vice presidency. She is pro-life, Alaskan governor, five kids, former beauty queen. Has a gorgeous husband who loves her. Mother of a special needs child… What is there not for feminists to like. By all accounts, Sarah Palin is a remarkable woman, living the feminist dream.

Or so one would think…

Sarah’s view of her duties as a politician is surprisingly free of snobbery. Moreover she has the rare ability to actually blend in with her constituents in a way that makes you feel she understands your needs because she has been there.

So why did feminism throw Sarah under the bus for Barack Obama? Because she is conservative that is why.

Remember this is the same movement that took sides with Bill Clinton during the Monica Lewinsky.

Ultimately what is most important to feminists is supporting a leftist agenda and not the true rights of women.

How can women be treated as equals among men when the very movement that claims to support us does not see Republican and conservative women as equals among women?

In the end, we all lose as women.

What is it saying about tolerance and acceptance when the only commemorative postage stamps of great women are liberals? Are we not free to think for ourselves without ridicule from those who share the same genital parts? If Afrocity can be African America and conservative, she can also be a woman and conservative. Right?  If this is true will someone please tell me why I have been given the pink slip from each group. I have been stripped of my gender membership as well as my racial membership cards.

Is This What Feminism Looks Like? This Christmas there will be no visit to Afrocity from the Feminist Santa. Fine!!!

I will not put any tampon shaped cookies and birth control pills by the fireplace for Feminist Santa on Christmas Eve.

Upon being abandoned by my race and gender, I do occasionally read what I am supposedly missing. Just yesterday, I happened upon this review by Ms. magazine of the newest Twilight film New Moon:

New Moon, Same Old Sexist Story

By Carmen D. Siering and Katherine Spillar

Sure, the film New Moon is breaking box office records, and both tween girls and their moms are swooning over pale-faced vampire Edward and hunky werewolf Jacob, who both vie for the attention of our ostensible hero, Bella. Isn’t it romantic?

Well…. with just a moment of critical analysis, feminists can’t be too happy about how the latest episode in the Twilight series, adapted from Stephanie Meyer’s popular books, represents a young woman and her place in the modern world. In fact, the New film is really just more of the same, only worse.

Where director Catherine Hardwicke, who helmed the first Twilight film, subtly tweaked the characters of Bella (Kristen Stewart) and Edward (Robert Pattinson), creating a somewhat more equal relationship between them, New Moon director Chris Weitz seems content to let things stand as Meyer wrote them. Edward reverts to his overbearing ways, dictating the direction of the relationship—in this case, ending it—and Bella quite literally lies down and takes it.

In fact, just moments after Edward leaves her, Bella stumbles in the woods and refuses to get up, lying in the muck until a strong, bare-chested man carries her out. Later, we see her sitting in her room, staring out the window, as the months roll by. When she isn’t sitting and staring, she is in bed having nightmares. Very empowering.

Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, then Sarah Heath, holding the 1980-1981 Wasilla High School Girl's Cross Country Running championship trophy in Wasilla, Alaska.

Ms. give me a break. How do you expect for anyone to take you seriously about the lack of female empowerment in the Twilight series when your writers cannot accept a that a conservative woman running for the office of Vice President of the United States could possibly be empowering to young women everywhere?

Sounds like you are the ones who do not know what a feminist looks like.

Are You There God? It’s Me Afrocity: Being A Pro-Choice Republican Without Illusions August 31, 2009

my choiceMore than any other device, the image is the surest way to transcend all barriers.  Achieving a certain notoriety for fascinating the voyeuristic side in all of us, the image is not exclusively  male or female because the common vantage point is that we all have eyes.

When I look at pro-life and pro choice “propaganda”, a term I resisted granted truthfully, that is what it is propaganda or something that persuades and appeals to emotions, I see that the abortion debate is handled in such a way that there is really no middle ground. The accusations are inescapable. Either you believe in murdering babies or you don’t. You are either for women’s rights or you’re not.

In a video interview I taped earlier this month, I described how my political location is life was racially constructed. How does this apply translate to my opinion on abortion? Is it racially constructed as well?

The sexual education between my mother and I was for the most part one without words. Pregnancy was the worse thing that could happen to a black girl. Books open, legs shut was the mantra. Abstinence is the best policy. Did she tell me what sex actually was? No.

It was not until I watched soft porn with my sound asleep uncle that I realized that babies are not made by a woman and a man “lying close together in bed”.

My uncle had the Spectrum cable channel- which was one of the first along with HBO and Showtime. He did not pay for it but somehow we received the signal in his bedroom.  In my need for a masculine figure of authority in my life, I would watch movies in his room as I did my homework. His drunken raucous laughter was somehow calming. Unlike his sister/my mother, he drank heavily and was not always sad. I accepted his Hiram Walker and Sons manufactured mirth over my mother’s growing despondency. Uncle and I would begin by watching action movies or comedies. Being a night owl by nature, I would stay up well past my uncle’s bedtime.

When the adult movies began at 1am, did Afrocity turn off the TV set?

Not on your life. I stayed and watched. Curiosity killed the young PUMA cat.

The abortion dress is said to be the most ripped off image on the internet.

The abortion dress is said to be the most ripped off image on the internet.

At 13 years of age, I  was perceptive enough to determine that these movies were created by men for men. In many films, the women were initially raped but later appear as if they actually enjoyed the attack. Others engaged in lesbian behavior yet there were no representations of men sleeping with men while women watched for pleasure and enjoyment. Then there were the insatiable nymphomaniacs. The woman who can’t seem to get enough.

Through my delicate pre-teen lens  I was the the willing voyeur, watching these forbidden movies which embodied masculine principals of patriarchy and submission. Women were not in a position of power in most of the films, save for several films featuring porn star Marilyn Chambers. Even so, it seemed that Marilyn  thought she was in complete control although I am not sure if walking home with a limp is considered power no matter how much you enjoyed it.

Abortion and rape figured prominently in several films I watched but here again, it was the male who determined whether or not the woman would be “allowed” to end the life of her unborn child.

It was “her fault” that she got pregnant and she would need “his money” to fix it.

To solidify this argument, one film featured a woman who was a naughty housewife. She was of course a nymphomaniac that her husband, while charming could not satiate. She attends a blindfolded only orgy and has sex with a kosher dill pickle, three women and several men. Later when she discovers that her sexual escapade has rendered her pregnant, she cannot afford the abortion with her monthly allowance from dear sweet protective hubby.

To make matters worse hubby was wounded in Vietnam and cannot father a child. As the movie progresses, the feminine antagonist is screwed both literally and figuratively. Her power karma dwindles as she has to prostitute herself for money in order to pay for the abortion.  At the sobering conclusion of the film, our wing clipped heroine is robbed of her abortion kitty by her final customer. But all is not lost. A member of the dominant gender,an abortionist  enters her life and gives her an abortion in return for a sexual encounter.

The erosion of this female character’s strength was what remained with me the most. It was not the gratuitous penis shots, or kinky sex (though that was a pretty big cumber pickle), what stayed with me was her total lack of control.

Roe v. Wade gave us the right to choose but this pornographic film stripped that right away by placing the financing of the abortion, back in the hands of the patriarchy.  Perhaps this was the day I became  pro-choice but I also became pro-women’s empowerment.  Pregnancy is exclusively female along with menstruation. Women should have the right to control what happens to their bodies. I will never change that opinion despite being a Republican.

Not being a mother, I am of course more familiar with the latter bodily function- menstruation.  Now this is the part where I may risk some readers but here goes…

Such imagery only angers and widens the gap between pro-life and pro-choice.

Such imagery only angers and widens the gap between pro-life and pro-choice.

Sunday mine began, as it has since I was 13.  I am also taking antibiotics for a sinus infection which in turn caused me to develop a yeast infection.  Strolling down the Walgreen ailse basket in hand, my mouth drops open at the price of sanitary napkins. $7.99 for a 28 count package of Stayfree maxipads without wings.

The tension between my monthly flow and my cash flow has always been an issue.

I asked myself a rather trivial question. During my lifetime, how much have I spent on feminine products? If I only knew.

While growing up, I never ever saw my mother buy feminine products. We had no money.

You could not buy them with foodstamps.

My guess is that she used discarded old towels we had.

I assume this because she attempted to coax me into a similar practice when we were without money. Our discourse exchange on the matter was burdened by the 31 year gap in our ages. With my first period, I insisted to be taken to the store for pads. Thanks to sexual education in school, I knew they existed. Tampon usage was shunned by most in my class including the teachers. The awful myth circulating was that any girl who uses a tampon is automatically NOT a virgin and will perish a horrendous death of toxic shock syndrome.

Succumbing to her thoroughly modern daughter, mother purchased the old beltless bulky pads for me and did not know how to put them on me. When I ran ou of thoset, I went to the school nurse  pretending my period had caught me off guard. After doing this ten times or so, the nurse caught on and gave me a box of pads once a month.

Abortion-Rights-02

“I have too many and would only throw them out, ” she said.

I was thankful that they had sticky stuff on the bottom and did not have to use safety pins. That nurse fed me the self esteem needed by a maturing young woman. Thank God for school nurses and sex education. The nurse was a woman helping a girl. I could trust her and she knew what it was like to be me. Now what if it were more than just pads that I needed? Should my mother know about it? I thought of the woman in the porn movie. What if I needed an abortion? Take into consideration this article which appeared on Townhall.com by Star Parker, a wonderful conservative that happens to be African American like me:

A time for truth on abortion
by Star Parker

Former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin missed a great opportunity to personally kick off an issue of enormous importance to her state and to the nation.

She was scheduled to appear with me at an Alaska Family Council event in Anchorage to launch Alaska’s Parental Involvement Initiative, which will require parental notification of teenage girls under age 18 before they can get an abortion. But, the schedules of we mortals cannot retard the imperatives of history, so, despite Mrs. Palin’s absence, we’ve gone to war with the army we have.

Currently 35 states have laws that require either parental consent or notification in order for a teenage girl to receive an abortion. Alaska passed one in 1997.

However, after ten years on the books, in 2007 the Alaska Supreme Court, arguing that sharing this information with parents violated the privacy of their teenage daughters, found the law unconstitutional. So now a 13 year old can get an abortion without the knowledge of her parents.

A large percentage of these abortions are paid for with state Medicaid funds, but no one seems to think that parents’ privacy is being violated using their tax funds to pay for these.

Research shows the remedial benefits of parental involvement when a pregnant teenager considers abortion.

And research shows the profound psychological damage caused by teenage abortion. But, perhaps we should be wondering who we are today that we need to gather data to address an issue as intuitively obvious as whether a teenage girl may abort her child without her parents knowing.

Of course there are exceptional considerations, like abusive parents. But the Alaska initiative deals with this, as did a similar initiative in California, which was defeated last November.

No, this is not about being reasonable. It is about ideology. And what we have are opposing worldviews that cannot be reconciled. It’s about choosing one or the other.

Yeast cartoonYes, I am pro-choice and Republican but even I have my limits. Whether in the name of privacy or under the guise of women’s rights, I do not believe that it is fair for pro-choice advocates to exclude parental consent when it comes to a 13 year old girl, not a woman but a girl, having an abortion. A 13 year  parents should be involved in that decision or at the very least be aware that their child is sexually active.

My decision to be pro-choice is based upon a woman’s right to privacy.

Speaking of privacy over twenty years later, I am no longer the girl in the school nurse’s office. Here I am a full grown woman, standing in a Walgreens drugstore aisle with a problem. The yeast infection medication I need is behind a locked Plexiglas cabinet along with pregnancy tests and ovulation detectors.  Great, now my purchase of this embarrassing product entails my announcing to the Walgreens powers that be that I need something to stop croissant production. Of course with my luck, the only person available to open the security case for me is an Asian man of about 30.

“Which item do you want?” he asked timidly. This poor man did not want to help me and the feeling was mutual. But there we were.

I pointed to the yeast infection treatment that was on sale for $9.95 down from $18.95. Seems my timing was not so bad after all- yeast must be in season. I noted that the store clerk did not look me in the eye. With a quick “thanks”, I took my yeast killers and maxi pads to the cashier who was also a male. I placed my feminine items on the counter along with a bag of 5 flavored Life Savers roll candy. The male cashier flirted with me until he saw the guilty products, Life Savers roll candy and Vagistat, I must be a real winner.

“Do you want me to double bag this?” he asked. His face was red. He was wearing lots of liberal flair. An Obama button (ick) along with another pin that read “Green is the new black”.

Why the red face? Being a liberal, he must understand my plight as a woman.Surely he is a feminist and cares about my monthly cell slouthing activites.

Shaking my head, I said “No, why should anymore trees have to die because I have a yeast infection…I will pay by debit card.”

Yes, with one swipe of rectangular plastic, I do have the power.

Thursday Stitch n’ Bitch: I’M TIRED OF BUSH IN MY FACE by Bellamags August 20, 2009

yarn stitchThe following article is authored by Autographed Letter Signed, guest commentator, “Bellamags”. A good friend that I met through Little Green Footballs. Please join me in welcoming her:

I am relatively new to the media driven soap opera called politics.  When Afrocity asked me to be a guest contributor on her blog, I had an idea and began writing.  The political landscape had changed so much in only two days after I began research, my original topic had become obsolete at almost the same rate as every electronics purchase I have made over the past year.

I began to realize that while working 60 fruitless hours a week at my now economically challenged small business the only way I would produce a relevant article in the time frame I have available is if I kept it less current and more “general”.  Sooooooo here it is.

After the 9-11 Islamic terror attack on the World Trade Center, my eyes were opened to the blatant liberal  media bias and was informed that Fox News was the only news station that wasn’t. I couldn’t believe it.  Katie Couric was a liberal?  Who knew?  From that point on, I became a Fox news junkie and watched as much as I could.  One segment in particular peaked my interest.  Fox interviewed two gentleman from the blog article in Littlegreenfootballs after the Dan Rather “memogate” scandal.

Bush 2This memo claimed George W. Bush a liar with regards to his service in the military.  This particular blog proved that the font, Times New Roman, used in the memo was not available in 1973, the date the memo was supposedly written, falsifying the information and proving the memo a fraud.  Littlgreenfootballs now calls this the “throbbing memo” because of the flashing graphic which shows the forged memo superimposed over the “new“ memo typed by the bloggers.  I thought “how cool a couple of regular guys at home on their computers figured this out” and my curiosity about these bloggers grew from there.  I wanted to be a part of this pajama sleuth crew and joined the blog immediately.  I believe this blog is fair and has many contributors of varying political persuasions and orientations.

We have become sort of a family on the blog and many of us lizards (the pet name we have given each other) have become “friends” of sorts.  Understandably, the author of the bog has forbidden the divulgence of personal information over the blog for obvious reasons.  I am sure there are several liberal lunatics of the Michael Moore persuasion sitting at their computers watching, waiting, foaming at the mouth for some scrap of information that will give them the opportunity to pounce on one of us “eeeevil Neo-Con’s”.

My personal opinion on this: “Come and get me @x#$!! and say hello to my little friend”.

Several of us lizards decided to join a social networking site as a “safer” way to get to know one another without using the blog for personal chitchat and other less important issues.

For me, that’s when the real fun started.

Bush cross stitchI was amazed at the number of my family members and long lost friends already on this particular networking site.  Before I knew it, my friend count was way up over one hundred.  This is no magical feat, for I have friends that have friend counts over one thousand.  Some of my liberal family members have friend requested me on this site and I have accepted because I love and miss them and want to have more regular communication with them.  I am sure they had no idea my political persuasion and did not realize the level of passion I have for it.  Most of my status updates and posts on my page are political.  This is precisely the reason I joined the site.  I should have warned them.

My posts regularly reveal stupid moves the senate, congress or the Obama administration have made.  Almost immediately, I will get a comment from one of my liberal relatives such as “Did you keep such a close eye on bush?” or “I’m glad the White House terrorist, aka George Bush is not in office” or “I can understand your anger because of what we had to deal with for the past 8 years”.  The only responses I seem to receive from liberals seem to be jabs about George Bush or pointing out what a “complete failure” his presidency was. They assume my dislike for Obama’s socialistic policies somehow makes me a supporter of Bush.    I get no facts or current issue debate.  I feel like Ebenezer Scrooge caught in a continual loop with the ghost of Christmas past.  Liberals do not debate facts or present ideas that make me think.  They thrive on emotion and feelings.  As a matter of fact sometimes I wonder how I am related to these people.  Cash for Clunkers was a recent issue brought up and the only response from a liberal for why this was a good idea was “I got a new car”.  Well that’s great auntie, but what happens now?  What happens to the clunker?  What happens to the junkyards that would have been able to part our these vehicles but now have to destroy them?  What happens to the people that can’t afford a new car?  What if I LIKE my 1999 GMC truck with only 50,000 miles on it and I need a new door handle?  The local police department has warned those in my area the number one stolen vehicle are now older Dodge Caravans.  Smart criminals.  Parts for these vehicles will be at a premium in a year or two.

singer cardLiberals are selfish.   ME ME ME with no regard for what happens later or the consequences of the policies being enacted.  They get distracted by that new car smell and the shiny wheels.   You see, it’s their right to health care, new cars and LCD televisions.  The constitution gives us the right to pursue these things, not to have them.

ATTENTION ALL LIBERALS:  George Bush was not a conservative.

So quit putting Bush in my face every time I bring up another socialistic democratic policy.

He spent more money and expanded government faster than any previous president.  Since Obama ran his whole campaign as “change” from the failed policies of the Bush administration, should we not “hope” he meant what he said?

Brian M. Riedl, senior policy analyst and Grover Hermann fellow in federal budgetary affairs has summarized:

  • President Bush expanded the federal budget by a historic $700 billion through 2008. President Obama would add another ONE TRILLION.
  • President Bush began a string of expensive financial bailouts. President Obama is accelerating that course.
  • President Bush created a Medicare drug entitlement that will cost an estimated $800 billion in its first decade.  President Obama has proposed a $634 BILLION down payment on a new government health care fund.
  • President Bush increased federal education spending 58 percent faster than inflation.  President Obama would DOUBLE it.
  • President Bush became the first president to spend 3 percent of GDP on federal anti-poverty programs.  President Obama has already increased the spending by 20 PERCENT.
  • President Bush tilted the income tax burden more toward upper-income taxpayers.  President Obama would continue that trend.
  • President Bush presided over a $2.5 trillion increase in the public debt through 2008.  Setting aside 2009 (for which Presidents Bush and Obama share responsibility for an additional $2.6 trillion in public debt), President Obama’s budget would add $4.9 trillion in public debt from the beginning of 2010 through 2016.
  • President Bush’s tax policy was his only conservative policy and saved the taxpayers 2 trillion dollars.

TheJoker

In the 18 months following the 2003 tax cuts, economic growth rates doubled, the stock market surged 32 percent and created almost 7 million jobs in the next two years.  This lead to a prosperous economic time until the housing bubble burst.  I remember driving to work listening to the news and hearing that the fed had raised interest rates.  (Why does the fucking government have control of that anyway?)

I had recently taken advantage of the low rates and purchased a nice house.  I thought to myself “Everything is going to stop, people are going to be to scared to by anything now.  That’s alllllllll folks.” (with the Porky Pig voice in my head, of course).  Obama has proposed raising the tax burden by $1.4 trillion abandoning the one successful Bush fiscal policy.  Combine this with double the spending and we are up shits creek with a hole in the boat, never mind the missing paddle.

Knit jokerObama is George Bush on nitros.  If Bush was a complete failure and “got this country in the financial mess it’s in”  my dear liberals, why should we continue down the same path?

If you are trying to convince me that Obama is going to be a much better president and will do much more for this country, constantly throwing Bush in my face does not turn me on.  I would much rather have a thick, juicy, prime meaty fact in my face please.

Autographed Letter Signed,

BELLAMAGS

Bellamags has been a conservative since 9-11, before then I had no idea the difference between liberal and conservative.  I consider myself center on social issues and hard right on fiscal issues.  The only experience I have is from littlegreenfootballs and my life experiences owning a small business.

Mean Girls and Boys: Vanity Unfair and the Whore-i-fication of Gov. Palin June 30, 2009

Bruce Elliott, whose wife owns the Old Town Ale House, painted this nude portrait of Republican vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin.

Despite Sarah’s recent victory over David Letterman, Palin Derangement Syndrome is still alive and well:

McCain aides trash Palin (anonymously) in Vanity Fair. What else is new…

By Johanna Neuman

Longtime friends and campaign workers for Arizona Sen. John McCain have been talking to Vanity Fair about what Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin‘s candidacy as vice president did for the GOP ticket in 2008.

“A Little Shop of Horrors,” said one unnamed aide.

Perhaps they want to keep the governor — still a hot-button favorite among social conservatives — off the ticket in 2012?

In a just-published piece by Todd Purdum in the August Vanity Fair, McCain aides said they still suffer a kind of survivor’s guilt. (An earlier version of this post misspelled the author’s last name as Purdam.)

“They can’t quite believe that for two frantic months last fall, caught in a Bermuda Triangle of a campaign, they worked their tails off to try to elect as vice president of the United States someone who, by mid-October, they believed for certain was nowhere near ready for the job, and might never be,” Purdam writes.

A former reporter for the New York Times and husband of former Clinton press secretary Dee Dee Myers, Purdam has a few nuggets of news. Reports of tension between Palin and McCain are, well, true.

She maintained “only the barest level of civil discourse” with Tucker Eskew, the operative assigned to be her chief minder, Purdam reports. Mark McKinnon, a longtime McCain admirer and a former Democrat who told insiders he would never work against Barack Obama in the general election, signed on to be Palin’s “whisperer,” the calming influence. And Obama, on learning of Palin’s selection, said Palin would never have time to get up to speed. “I don’t care how talented she is, this is really a leap,” said Obama, telling aides it had taken him four months to learn how to be a national candidate.

But for the most, the piece reads more like juicy political speculation than news. Many of the quotes are from aides who would rather not be named. And it’s hard to read the title — “It Came From Wasilla” — as anything but an insult, at least to anyone who’s a person who came from somewhere.

Palin refused to talk to Vanity Fair for the piece. At work on her own book about her life — to be published jointly by HarperCollins and the Bible-publishing house Zondervan — the self-described pit bull-with-lipstick  from Alaska will get plenty of ink for her rebuttal.

In the meantime, here come the knives.

Palin artI won’t feel sorry for Sarah Palin. She does not need this from me or any woman. We have all been Sarah at sometime in our life.

Peer pressure, enemies and bullies are an awful fact of life. Catty behavior, nasty rumors spoken in high school locker rooms coupled with snickers as one walks to study hall. We have all had to deal with it, the heart breaking pet names: slutty Suzy, Betty Blo me, Sasha the Hut, Pizza face Pete.

In high school, I was quiet but expressed my individuality by wearing outlandish thrift store clothing. When you were as poor as I was being creative was the only way to go. Inspired by Madonna’s “Like a Virgin”  video, I wore big lace fluorescent day glow bows in my hair and mini skirts.

My hair was often nappy and a big bush, no thanks to mom I wore cheap green “Wet n’ Wild” 99 cent eyeshadow and red orange lipstick which made me the subject of one of the most awful lunchroom verbal gang bangs in teenage history. I was a freshman and the other bitches were juniors.  Minding my own business, I leafing through a Tiger Beat magazine looking for pictures of 80′s band  Duran Duran’s  lead singer Simon Le Bon (my future husband).  One of the juniors starts yelling “Look at her orange lipstick and green eyeshadow that hoe looks like Tina Turner. Nappy headed hoe like that bow is covering up those nigger naps”

Cruelly, they started singing Tina Turner songs “What’s Love Got to do with it”.

My back was turned to them so I continued to ignore them. This is what my mother told me to do. Oh, I forgot to mention that my friend Michelle, an Italian girl was sitting across from me.

“Afrocity aren’t you going to say something?” She asked. Michelle felt sorry for me. She always did because I was picked on a lot.  I just shrugged my shoulders and continued , or pretended to continue reading my magazine.

“Hey you know who wears green eyeshadow,” one of the girls yelled. “Nancy Reagan. You are ass old fashioned skinny bitch like Nancy Reagan”

By this time the lunchroom monitor, who was laughing right along with them until another teacher came into the room (did I mention that Chicago Public Schools suck?) finally told them to be quiet.  It was too late, my life had been ruined. That lunch room had over 200 kids in it that heard everything. Even after it was over, my boyfriend heard about it in his PE class.

“You really should change your make up and hair,” he said. “It is dated and most other girls have jheri curls now or wear their hair in twists.”

His statement was the final nail in my self esteem. The rest of the day was a wash so I decided to cut class and go home. As I was walking to my locker I could see that someone had stuck a piece of paper in the crevice of the combination lock. Perhaps it was something harmless like a dance invitation but I knew it was bad, and it was.  It was a picture of Tina Turner and someone had colored the tops of her eyes with green crayon, they had also written NANCY REAGAN OLD FASHIONED on it.  My eyes fought back tears but with little success. While I was gathering my things Musa, an Indian boy who was a class above me was walking down the hall. He had always been relatively nice to me and saw that something was wrong. I just shook my head and said “nothing”.

There was a bag of gummy bears in my purse. I offered him some but he shook his head explaining that he was a Muslim and gummy bears had pork in them.

His next statement provided proof that I was the joke of the school: “you are a pretty girl but the make up you wear makes you look like a whore.”

This would be the second time in a week that I was called a whore by a man. The first time was my history teacher who explained to my mother that I was only in school to be popular and my obsession with looking like Madonna was unhealthy. He told my mother that “Madonna was a whore and that is what your daughter is aspiring to be.”

Georges_Seurat_-_Un_dimanche_après-midi_à_l'Île_de_la_Grande_Jatte

A Sunday on La Grande Jatte, by George Seurat at the Art Institute of Chicago

For reasons I cannot remember, I did not go straight home but instead took the “L” to the Art Institute of Chicago. I through by book bag on the floor and looked at my favorite painting  A Sunday on La Grande Jatte, by George Seurat waiting for the right time to leave. Attempting not to appear to be a complete basket case, I took out a notebook to pretend I was sketching. I was really scribbling poetry that said I wanted to kill myself and everyone would miss me like they did Mr. Singer, the deaf mute character in Carson McCuller’s novel  The Heart is a Lonely Hunter. I was like Mr. Singer, misunderstood.

Closing time came and before I went home, I stopped at Walgreens and stole some Loreal make-up, powder, lipstick, and eye shadow kit by stuffing it all up my coat sleeve.

At home, mom was there watching the Sally Jessie show. I said nothing to her and went to the bathroom to try on my make up while using a Vogue magazine with Cindy Crawford on the cover. I was not white. I would never be white but I could steal some of her make up tips.

To be nosy, mother walked into the bathroom without knocking. She saw the new make up and magazine spead on the toilet seat cover.

“Where did you get that stuff?”  she asked picking up the lipstick. It was a pretty ribbon hot pink. Somehow she knew everything I owned and everything I did not own.

“I borrowed it from Michelle,” I lied and she knew it. Michelle never wore make-up.   Mother nodded and just stood there while I was trying to put on eyeliner- something I had never used before.

troll“That looks stupid on you…your eyes are too big and it looks best on white women, makes you look like a tramp on Cicero Ave.”

She made me sick. She was never any help anymore ever since I turned 15. She didn’t work and did not know shit about the world. I wanted her to leave me alone.

“People already say I look like a tramp anyway,” I retorted.

We just starred at each other.

Apart from her advanced age, I could see myself in her face. She was fatter than I- a size 14. I was a zero, her breasts and chin sagged. Her eyes were no longer bright. I did not want to end up like her alone and homely with no man or friends. She was the last person in the world I wanted to become.

I was about to tell her to close the door and leave me alone when she said something that changed my life or at least the way I handled people who hated me.

“You know you should not worry when people are talking about you…You should worry when people are not talking about you. If you were insignificant, or not a threat no one would care about you.”

Feeling compromised because she broke down my defenses, I gathered the stolen goods and went passed her leaving her in the bathroom. Soon she followed with more advice “When you are called names, laugh with them, and keep walking. If someone calls you a whore, say ‘you wish take a look at your mother’”

It was the best advice she had ever given me in a long time.

Sarah Plain haters must have an agenda. If she were not a threat, or insignificant they would not go to these lengths to damage her career.

Don’t listen Sarah keep on trucking. I stole lipstick in order to please my critics and I felt like a pig. You can bend over backwards for these people and they would still demonize and demoralize you and your family meanwhile look at the coverage that is good and embrace it. You don’t see anyone talking about Gov.  Bobby Jindal (R-LA) anymore do ya? After his colossal bomb during the Republican response to Obama’s stimulus address, Jindal faded into presidential nominee neverland.

Palin: I’d come out ahead in run against Obama

By MARY PEMBERTON

June 30, 2009

ANCHORAGE, Alaska (AP) — Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin says she’d come out ahead if she went one-on-one with fellow jogger President Barack Obama in a long run, according to an interview published online Tuesday.

“I betcha I’d have more endurance,” she told Runner’s World magazine.

“My one claim to fame in my own little internal running circle is a sub-four marathon” in Anchorage, she said, referring to her 2005 sprint in the Humpy’s Marathon in which she beat the four-hour mark by 24 seconds. “What I lacked in physical strength or skill, I made up for in determination and endurance,” she said.

The president, who stays fit by starting his day with a workout in the White House gym, is better known for his passion for basketball and has been a frequent golfer in recent weeks. Obama, however, recently acknowledged that he hasn’t completely kicked his smoking habit, telling reporters that he does still “mess up” on his pledge to quit smoking.

Might Obama join the workout war of words? A message seeking comment Tuesday from the White House by The Associated Press wasn’t immediately returned.

Palin, a 45-year-old former beauty queen who became the first woman and youngest person to be elected Alaska’s governor, is featured in the August issue of the magazine for running aficionados. She was dubbed the country’s “hottest” governor when she stole the show as U.S. Sen. John McCain’s presidential running mate in 2008.

As far as 2012 Run SARAH RUN.
