Olbermann suspended for Dem contributions

By CNN Political Unit

November 5, 2010

(CNN)Keith Olbermann, MSNBC’s primetime firebrand host, has been suspended indefinitely for violating the ethics policies of his employer earlier this year when he donated to three Democrats seeking federal office, MSNBC announced Friday.

“I became aware of Keith’s political contributions late last night. Mindful of NBC News policy and standards, I have suspended him indefinitely without pay,” MSNBC President Phil Griffin said in a statement.

First reported by Politico and confirmed by Federal Election Commission filings, the primetime television host gave $2,400 – the maximum individual amount allowed – to each of the campaigns of Kentucky Senate candidate Jack Conway, and Arizona Reps. Raul Grijalva and Gabrielle Giffords. (View PDF’s of FEC filings for Conway, Grijalva, and Giffords)

Conway lost his bid to Republican Rand Paul while Grijalva eked out a win over Tea Party-backed candidate Ruth McClung for a fifth term. Grijalva found himself in an increasingly competitive race after he announced his support of a boycott of Arizona businesses in response to the state’s controversial new immigration law and often appeared on Olbermann’s show where he found a sympathetic audience. CNN, meanwhile, has yet to declare a winner in Giffords’ race, but the Democrat currently holds about a 3,000-vote lead with all precincts reporting.

The contributions may have violated an NBC policy that requires employers of the news organization to obtain permission ahead of any political donations or activities that could be deemed as a conflict of interest. CNN institutes a similar policy.

In a statement to Politico before the suspension was announced, Olbermann defended the contributions:

“One week ago, on the night of Thursday October 28 2010, after a discussion with a friend about the state of politics in Arizona, I donated $2,400 each to the re-election campaigns of Democratic Representatives Raul Grijalva and Gabrielle Giffords,” he said in the statement. “I also donated the same amount to the campaign of Democratic Senatorial candidate Jack Conway in Kentucky.

From Olbermann Watch

I was wondering when it would happen.

It was only a matter of time. Bad things come to those who hate.

As someone said to Juan Williams when he was fired from National Public Radio (NPR)  for making a seemingly anti-Muslim remark on the O’Reilly Factor ,  “they must have been looking for an excuse to do so all along.”     The same is most likely true for our dear insane liberal friend Keith Olbermann.  Face it- his ratings are in the tank.  Fox News kicked serious ratings butt with 7 million viewers on Tuesday election night.  MSNBC is the worst when it comes to rapid liberal pundits- Olbermann, Maddow and Chris “Tweety” Mathews.  The latter who treated Michelle Bachman like a sub-standard human being during her victory party.

This last clip even had liberal columnists criticizing MSNBC as stepping over the line of professionalism.

What? You guys are just now noticing that Keith Olbermann has stepped over the line of professionalism?

Shudder!

It is so unfortunate that we could not send all of the Kool Aid zombies to the political time machine – 2010 – so they could see what a wonderful job Obama has done.  Remember what hopes everyone had for Obama?  Hey screw Hillary! He is the chosen one.  Republicans are dead!!! Obama is the KING OF THE WORLD

Keith Olbermann was one of the prime suspects in Hillary Clinton’s character assassination.  All for Obama.  Now that the fools are stuck on Barry’s Island hungry, in debt- the honeymoon was about as long as a three hour tour.

Bye Keith, good riddance. Looks like you will join the 9.6% that are unemployed in America.  Karma is woman that you take into a room and only she comes out.  Perhaps a tweety bird or two will soon follow.  Too bad your don’t have good conservative friends at Fox News like Juan Williams had to pick a brither up when he is down.

Maybe your good friend Barack will give you a bailout. You have so much hopium, I am sure something will come through.

OH, btw. If you are gonna contribute to a Democrat’s campaign make sure it is a good Democrat.  Jack Conway????? Give me a break. Rand Paul cleaned his clock Tuesday night-everyone but Keith Olbermann saw that coming.

Media Come Lately: The Cult of Personality Vs. The Cult of Constitutionality August 24, 2010

During a recent Fox News report, I noticed Juan Williams aka FOX NEWS LIBERAL IN CHIEF  warning the Republicans that the American people have no faith in them despite the tanking support for Democrats.

It should go without saying that the blame merchants that are the DNC, have again stuck their donkey heads in the sand when it comes to knowing what the American people want.

Welcome to the new mainstream media liberal spin on their impending ass kicking in November.   We are going to lose but we will a) let you conservatives know that the American public hates you while being unsure of us and b) try to offer you advice on how to win in November so it can look like you won because you actually listened to us hence we do not look as in the tank for Obama as we really are.

Some liberal commentators avoid the trap by admitting that the Democrats are screwed.  I respect this.  If the GOP was doing things that I disagreed with, I would say so.   According to Dr. Phil, in his bestseller  Life Strategies: Doing What Works, Doing What Matters

Life Law #4

” YOU CANNOT CHANGE WHAT YOU DON’T ACKNOWLEDGE”.

Regardless of your opinion of Dr. Phil,  the Texan is right.   The Democrats should look themselves in the face and say “We suck. The people do not like our policies. They want moderation. We need to change.”

But instead they look in the mirror and see greatness. They see poor Americans who do know what they need so the Democrats know what is best for these aimless citizens.  Green propaganda is shoved down our throats. We are over-stimulated and under paid.

Unchallenged by the media and his supporters, Obama and his liberal marinated Congress continue to drive the Democratic Party into a ditch that gets deeper and deeper by the month.  The party of free speech and open protest located the Tea Party as the crazy racist in this piece.  What happened to “get in their faces” ?   What happened to “get angry”?  It did not apply to the Tea Party movement.

Photo from the Cincinnati Tea Party

As the anti-tax party moved forward, they were mocked by the mainstream media and President Obama.  The protesters were misguided Americans who were resistant to the “hope” that Obama offered.

In the world according to the media, Democrats are never at fault.

YOU are the problem and the Republicans cannot offer YOU anything better but since YOU may vote for them anyway lets say some stuff to make US feel better about our predicament.

From CNN:

10 things Republicans must do in 10 weeks

By Ed Hornick, CNN

August 24, 2010 9:04 a.m.

Washington (CNN) — With the midterm elections just 10 weeks away, analysts expect big wins for Republicans.

But strategists and analysts say there are some key things the GOP must do to win over the American people and have a chance of taking back control of Congress.

1. Focus on jobs, jobs, jobs

Ron Christie, a Republican strategist who worked for former President George W. Bush, said that Republicans must play up how Democrats have focused too much energy on issues other than jobs.

“I think Republicans are poised to make significant gains in the House, if not outright control, and bolster their significant minority status in the Senate by talking about one thing, and that’s jobs,” he added. “And within the jobs mantra, it’s how they would strengthen the economy.”

Christie said that it’s incumbent upon Republicans to make the case why they should be trusted with the “keys to the car” and why they should be “given the chance to drive the cars of government once again.”

2. Become the party of solutions, not “no”

Democrats have argued throughout policy debates in Congress that Republicans are the “party of no” and the “party of obstruction” — standing firm against important legislation simply to undermine Democrats. Republicans argue they are trying to stop the Democrats’ radical agenda from becoming law.

“One of the biggest challenges for Republicans heading into November is that they need to be the party of ideas,” said Mark Preston, CNN senior political editor. “They just can’t be the party of obstruction … but to also offer solutions to some of the problems that are facing the nation.”

Christie added that in order to win over voters, his party needs to “rebuild the breach of trust” they’ve lost in articulating their vision and ideas to fix kitchen table issues.

3. Don’t stop thinking about tomorrow

Kevin Madden, a GOP strategist, noted it’s important for Republicans to look forward as they campaign.

“Fundamentally, every midterm election is a contest about the future, what you’re going to do, what the next day’s going to look like,” he said on “Fox News Sunday.” “And whether or not the voters want to see a relitigation of the past at a time where they are obviously very angry about the present and not too hopeful about the future is a very big mistake.”

Christie said that health care policy is a case in point:

“Just saying no to health insurance is not the way forward for Republicans in this election,” he said.

4. Offense is the best defense

Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell is the first to admit his party is on the offense this election cycle and is confident his party will prevail in November.

“The American public has taken a look at this administration,” he said on NBC’s “Meet The Press” on Sunday. “They think it’s spending too much, borrowing too much, taking over too much of the private sector and now raising taxes on top of it. … There are 70 some odd days between now and the election. I’m optimistic.”

The Republican Party by most accounts was left for dead in 2009, with no real leader and a party apparatus in disarray, Preston said. But things quickly changed.

House Republicans, he said, were the “first glue to try to pull the party back together and that was their opposition to the stimulus. And from there, they were able to build upon that.”

5. Offer a “Contract with a America” Part II

Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich has been credited with Republicans taking back control of Congress in the 1994 midterm elections. His “Contract with America” — a set of party principles and policy solutions — resonated with voters.

It’s something Republicans should use once again to drive home their message to the electorate, Christie said.

“Republicans need to articulate why they should be given the trust and the responsibility to drive the course of the nation,” he said. “I think if there are five or 10 specific areas that, if given the trust, the Republicans would do and would enact within an amount of time, I think that would be very strong because people could look very clearly and delineate what the Republican message and what the Republicans platform is expressed to be.”

6) Embrace tea party support with caution

While the tea party is not an official political party, it is a visible and vocal movement. It’s concerned about government spending and a growing deficit, which are traditional conservative issues.

McConnell noted on Sunday that the movement has been “extremely helpful” and has “produced a lot of energy in our primaries and I think it’s going to produce victories in November.”

But Preston warned that Republicans should proceed with caution, because the tea party movement “really prides itself on being very independent and not tied to Washington.”

“While Republicans need to embrace them, they can’t try to pull them in into their wings and have them be their soldiers heading into November,” he added.

7. Avoid social issues

In a year when the economy is issue No. 1, observers argue Republicans don’t need to bring up hot-button issues such as same-sex marriage, which normally revs up the base. This year, they say, the base is energized and ready to take back control.

R. Clarke Cooper, executive director of the Log Cabin Republicans, a gay and lesbian group, said that Republicans should be “consistently maintaining a general drumbeat of messaging on core conservative principles of individual liberty, individual responsibility, free-market economy, tax reform, strong national defense and a confident foreign policy” rather than weighing in on same-sex marriage.

8. Appeal to independents

Independents are widely credited for helping Barack Obama win office in 2008. But a lot has changed since then. Polls show that independents have drifted away from the president and his party.

Courting independents, then, is vital.

“The Republicans know that independents were an absolutely critical partner to Obama in the presidential election in 2008,” said Jacqueline Salit, president of independentvoting.org, a national strategy and organizing center for independents. “So there’s a lot of energy going into trying to peel independents away and turn them back to center-right.”

9. Channel Bill Clinton (yes, Bill Clinton)

Perhaps surprisingly, Christie said Republicans should channel former President Bill Clinton’s optimism and love of country when on the campaign trail.

“President Clinton was very much a strong supporter of this country. He loved this country. He clearly connected with the constituents that elected him,” he said. “You contrast that with a president who seems self-pitying; who seems to loathe political opposition; who seems to be in a position that ‘I’m somehow above the fray and that these are my policies, take ‘em or leave ‘em.’ “

10. Turn the Bush blame game around

Obama has recently begun to blast Bush and his administration for causing the country’s current economic conditions. Republicans jumped on that criticism, saying it shows a party that is afraid to run on its legislative record.

While polls show that Bush is still unpopular with most Americans, Republicans may be able use the Bush blame game against Democrats.

“I think rather than Republicans playing defense or speaking about President Bush or President Bush’s record, they need to say that Democrats aren’t willing to talk about moving forward. And we are,” Christie said. “And the longer that they dwell on the past, it shows that they are not up to the task of leading us forward in these difficult times.”

At risk of sounding like a panderer I will admit that there may be some truth to the “voters do not trust Republicans either”  theory.   However as I have stated in other posts, when it comes to food on the table, people don’t care if the food comes from the jackass or the elephant as long as there is food.

Juan Williams can blame Bush all he likes.  He can even call the Republicans racist.  If the Democrats continue to practice the persistence of stupidity and spending, they will lose.  As the liberal voice of Fox News, you would think Juan would get a clue when he can no longer come up with plausible rebuttals to the arguments and insights of his conservative colleagues.

It was sad to see Juan argue that blaming Bush is a reasonable campaign strategy for Democrats in November 2010.   Any fifth grader can see that it is not working.  Is confronting the real problem in your party really that terrifying? Can anyone fully articulate why the Democrats do not own the current situation or at least why working solutions are not being executed?

Hmmm tea or Kool-aid?

How about a tall glass of  truth?

More and more voters  are becoming “independent”  at the ballot box.   While the skeptic in me will always believe that you are more so inclined towards one party or the other, I believe that party loyalty will fly out the window if the party in majority is not competent of doing its job.

We saw this with the number of Democrats who voted for Ronald Reagan many elections ago.  This trend was also witnessed during the 2008 elections when some Republicans actually voted for Obama over McCain ala Colin Powell.

Also, beware of the “protest voter”.   Here the mindset is “I am voting for the other party which is against you because I love what you once were and hope to see you return”  and/or “stop taking my support for granted”.

2008 was the year of the candidate.

Faces, names, rhetoric- the cult of personality. But not so fast this time Democrats.

2010 will be the year of the voter.

Feelings, anger, American values , protest- the cult of constitutionality.

We want our country back.

We want to restore our economy.

We want to feel safe from terrorism.

We want energy independence.

We want our government to look like a body of sane individuals and not like a space ship full of spend psycho aliens landed.

We want America.

We the people got the memo long before the mainstream media.

So take your Monday morning quarterback advice and shove it.

We are taking our country back one voter at a time.

Black Tea and Sympathy: Will Olbermann Attend Dallas Tea Party??? February 24, 2010

It does not come as any surprise to me that the prestige of MSNBC is wearing thin among sane non-Kool Aid drinking Americans.

Nevertheless, we must challenge the residual ignorance that blankets the remaining 650,000 viewers MSNBC receives per day.

Kudos to the  Dallas Tea Party Organization for challenging  Keith Olberman and MSNBC to look at the lack of diversity in their own media outlet.

This repudiation of Olbermann’s statements has been a long time coming.  I have had it with the mainstream media pretending that people of color in the Tea Parties do not exist.  The same assumption is made concerning the Republican Party as a whole.  African Americans that choose conservatism are marginalized to salt and pepper on an iceberg sized steak.  We are characterized as mere tokens used as black up.

Will Olberman show?  Of course not.  He may risk some violence from all of the angry gun toting racist like Dallas Latina conservative, Katrina Pierson or Alfonzo Rachel (aka ZoNation)- an African American Republican.

Even the above examples do not account for all of the diversity within the Republican Party.

There are women, physically challenged persons, Asians, Jews,  gays and lesbians all in the Republican Party.

Any person who attempts to prove this to the mainstream media- is quickly shut down, marginalized, invalidated, and branded as “stoopid”.

Republican National Committee Chairman, Michael Steel is constantly belittled as someone who “should thank Barack Obama for his job”.    Liberals believe had it not been for Obama paving the way in the struggle for the brutha, Michael Steel would not have a career, let alone have been selected as RNC chairman.  MSNBC never reported that Steele was not the only African American on the RNC ballot. They never mentioned that Steele was once the Lieutenant Governor of Maryland, a FOX NEWS contributor,  a former GOP senatorial candidate,  and quite active in the Republican Party  BEFORE OBAMA WAS ELECTED PRESIDENT.

To assume that Michael Steele was only elected as RNC chair because he was black is sort of racist isn’t it?  How would MSNBC like it if we said that Rachel Maddow was the token lesbian?

MSNBC will never interview this man:

MSNBC will never send reporters to cover this event:

The Dallas Tea Party Organization is awaiting your reply Mr. Olbermann.  Or will you make the entire Tea Party, The Worse Person of the Week simply for extending you an invitation?  I am betting that somehow Mr. Olbermann will find the underpinnings of racism within the video. It will be akin to the snuff film of the decade. Yeah, that’s it Katrina Pierson was forced to be in the video because her family was being held hostage somewhere in an Atlanta peach orchard by Rush Limbaugh.

Keith Olberman: An Obamabot Cartoon Flip Flop Book February 17, 2010

It is not easy to reconcile with many of the things said about and done to Hillary Clinton and Sarah Palin during the 2008 presidential campaign season. Especially when for the latter, the verbal assault continues on her as well as her children.

It is interesting that I never, never liked the Family Guy long before Sarah Palin came on the political scene. Friends would chide me all of the time about missing “that great show” that was “..even better than Beevis and Butthead and South Park“.   Truthfully as a matter of personal taste, I am just not that into dysfunctional family animation.  The Simpsons is rarely watched in my home and the same goes for South Park.  While dysfunctional family animation shows are to be credited with memorable characters like Homer Simpson, “Man Bear Pig” and are canonized in popular culture, my own life was overrun by a “duh-oh” mother and an absent father.  Young Afrocity could have channeled the frustrated Lisa Simpson., young gifted and black among the mom with a GED. No thanks,  I don’t need  see my life replayed on television in claymation, animation, or otherwise.  I am sure the same goes for Sarah Palin.

The liberation of Hillary Clinton from the sharp tongued Obamabots came only after her decision to campaign for Barry.  Do as we say and the liberal attacks will go away.  Remember this little anti-Hillary gem  from MSNBC’s Keith Olbermann?

Olbermann was one of those Hillary haters that emphasized racism on the part of the Clintons at every turn. Hillary should be taken to a room “where only he comes out”.

Now fast forward to 2010 and Olbermann has somehow inherited Hillary love from the purple gods of Kool-Aid mountain, especially when it comes to invalidating Sarah Palin.

Oh, no you don’t Keith ol’ buddy, ol’ pal.  Can I say that this clip was the most contrived and homespun bullshit piece of journalism I have ever seen in my life.  How dare he infer that Hillary Clinton nuanced anything about Sarah Palin being a flash in the political pan with her response to the rather ….stupid question asked of her?  Furthermore, Keith Olberman failed to air Hillary’s full response to the young man. A response that was delivered with the precision grace and class that we all expect from a Secretary of State.

Shame on you Mr. Unfair and Unbalanced Keith Olbermann. You will never spin Hillary Clinton’s words into vitriol for Sarah Palin.

Conservative Ladies Night On Fox News!!! January 13, 2010

From I Own the World

Uh-oh it is that time. Occulata palingenia haterus moonbats are at it again. Sarah Palin made her debut as a Fox commentator on the O’Reilly Factor last night and fresh off the presses are Palin haters with remarkable mutation stories of her performance. From this article by Baltimore Sun critic David Zurawik:

January 12, 2010

Sarah Palin’s Fox debut: Prime-time propaganda

Sarah Palin and Bill O’Reilly — the only question is how high the ratings will go.

What a pair and what an awful politicization of TV news.

O’Reilly, the highest rated host on cable news TV, introduced the newest star in the Fox News galaxy Tuesday night as a “news analyst.” If what Palin did in her debut is news analysis, I’m the governor of Alaska and I can see Russia from my backyard.

Zurawik’s  “Russia from my backyard” statement pretty much tells you where he is going with his critique.  Down the long and winding mudslinging  road of outdated and rehashed Tina Fey SNL Sarah Palin parody skits.  Wow, how creative and appealing to your readers. What an awful politicization of journalism, huh?Watch your readers slobber with Palin hating delight?  What the article suggests is more of the same liberal bashing and fine tooth combing of Palin.  She will never have a chance with these guys.  The article showcases the not so clever and unoriginal words of a so called TV and pop culture critic for the Baltimore Sun who writes about the “craziness of TV” though the crazy lens of liberal mainstream media.

The readers of the Baltimore Sun should be blessed that  Zurawik’s genius “Ph.D. in American Studies from the University of Maryland, College Park, and an M.A. in specialized reporting (on popular culture) from the University of Wisconsin” deigned to take on the lowly subject of Sarah Palin.

After all Sarah Palin is an insignificant political is a nobody… right?

Zurawik is such the bigger person, not former governor of Alaska with the powers of persuasion to rally hundreds of thousands, raise five children including one who is special needs, and land a contract with the nation’s most highly rated cable news channel.  I will spare you Zurawik’s blow by blow account of Palin’s conversation with O’Reilly and let you see and hear the exchange as it appeared on Fox News:

Zurawik continues:

“In the language of television, that exchange was a perfect interview pas de deux, with Palin sounding intelligent and reasonable with all the “perhaps-es” and the “quites,” while O’Reilly deftly introduced the outrageous notion that Pelosi is “crazy” — and somehow made it seem like it is a widely held belief.

What a cart and pony show. O’Reilly is a TV master, Palin’s a TV player, and together they are going to bring orgiastic TV delight to right-wing viewers. I think I actually heard Nielsen People Meters exploding on TV sets in the more affluent suburbs of Baltimore last night when these two really got going.

I will spare you the scenario of O’Reilly teeing up old sad sack Harry Reid so that Palin could talk about her lifelong commitment to “diversity” and how indefensible she found Reid’s comments about the color of Obama’s skin.”

Really Mr. Zurawik?  You will “spare us that”? Gee why? Could it be because Harry Reid’s comments were indefensible? Oh I forgot Harry Reid is a Democrat, so lets just hold our hope n’ change noses in the air while that big smelly liberal hypocrisy fart bomb dissipates into see no liberal evil, hear no liberal evil la la land.

Nah, he ain't racist. He's my liberal brutha.

“I will also spare you the show-trial-like give-and-take play acting they did with O’Reilly quoting or replaying bad things that were said about Palin on “60 Minutes” so that she could call them “b.s.” or label them one-by-one a “lie” and then try to rewrite what she said — just as she did in her book “Going Rogue.”

I must briefly mention, however, the way O’Reilly helped her promote a Tea Party event at which she will be the featured speaker — and the way he tried to defend her receiving payment for the appearance. I must because I really hate it when O’Reilly uses TV this way to promote partisan events.

I will also share what she had to say about Obama’s sinking poll numbers: “Of course, they’re sinking.  It was just a matter of time before more of that reflection of the people’s uncomfortableness that they feel towards this administration is manifesting in these poll numbers,” she said. “… There is an obvious disconnect between President Obama and the White House, what they are doing to our economy and what they are doing in terms of not allowing Americans to feel as safe as we had felt…”

I forgot how Palin speaks in a grammar and syntax unlike anyone else on this planet, but you get the idea. And I’ll tell you what: In a protected TV environment like the one Fox and O’Reilly skillfully provided for her Tuesday night, I think she could be a red-hot ratings winner. And the country and our political conversation are going to be the poorer for it.

I can only imagine what kind of power these two might come to wield in the elections of 2010. This is not news analysis. This is TV as political propaganda.”

Ah, beware of the conservative sirens of Fox News. Flashing their shiny hair and pro-life smiles. Gunning for your liberal ways.  How dare FOX make you watch them.  How dare they! You are just minding your own business reading Mother Jones magazine, sitting on your organic milk crates stolen from the Trader Joe’s,  munching on dehydrated apricots and hemp granola, just minding your own business when something compels you to turn on FOX News and watch Sarah Palin. Oh, God pray to Saint Olbermann and Matthews.

I can only imagine what kind of power these two might come to wield in the elections of 2010″

Now that is hilarious. Sarah Palin obviously makes Zurawik have nightmares.

Concerning her appearance on O’Reilly, it was Sarah Palin’s first outing as a commentator on FOX News. O’Reilly was doing more of an orientation in my view. The same thing he did with John Stossel and Lou Dobbs when they were on his show.   O’Reilly is not the only FOX News venue Palin will appear on, so rest easy, you will have plenty of hate candy to chew on in all sorts of formats while viewing your FOX favorites.

Sarah and Sean.

Sarah and Greta.

Sarah and Chris Wallace.

Sarah with Fox N’ Friends.

Sarah sitting on Charles Krauthammer’s lap…

In fact she will appear on the Glenn Beck Program this afternoon.  Don’t forget to bring your Obama pillow and copy of Strunk and White. You must use that PhD. in American Studies for something besides maintaining tenure at the Baltimore Sun.

And if you Palin haters still have a  size extra small condom wrapper left, you may be interested in Ann Coulter’s slap down of Al Sharpton on Hannity which also aired Tuesday night.  Of course, as the honorable mouthpiece for the entire black community, Rev. Sharpton’s credibility’s rating is in negative digits but someone please archive this interview so we can tell him to shut the hell up the next time he brings up a racist cartoon or white person walking by a black church with a bucket of fried chicken in the near future.

And no liberal politicians, it is not okay to only call Rev. Al Sharpton and Rev.  Jesse Jackson the next time a racist flag is pinned on on the tail of a DNC jackass. YOU MUST CALL OR TEXT EVERY BLACK PERSON IN AMERICA.  What if I don’t attend their church? How will you know what I am thinking? How will you know that I have accepted your empty apology?

Afrocity’s Political Holiday Wish List: An Intervention Fairy For MSNBC December 2, 2009

Now that the season of giving is finally upon us,  I am introducing a new series- Afrocity’s Political Holiday Wish List.  With the liberals on the hill running a muck, there is plenty for a newly minted Republican to wish for in terms of America’s political sanity. Of course my wish list will imitate the holiday wish list  I keep in “real time”. About one or two items out of the many that I requested will actually show up under my Christmas tree. However, in allowing myself to have this list I can give myself a sense of true hope for real change. For starters, I could wish for “world mainstream media peace” or at the very least the disappearance of Chris Matthews from all of television. On the campaign trail,  Obama promised to be tough on Afghanistan then dithered and apologized as our president.  Let’s face it, Democrats are lousy at foreign policy. Liberals simply don’t care who is threatening to kiss America’s ass. In fact some even believe that we deserved what we got on September 11th, 2001. When I was a liberal, this was an aspect of the Democrats that troubled me. The final chapter of Carter’s presidency was characterized by the Iranian hostage situation. I was about 9 years old and even I knew that Carter looked like a rubber chicken. Still, Obama reluctantly will send an additional 30,000 men to Afghanistan. In true Obama fashion, he must be dramatic about this by giving what is I am sure just another of the thousand peaking at West Point last night was admittedly a clever move on the part of Obama’s team.  At West Point, there would be no outbursts from anti-war liberals who felt betrayed by Obama. The cadets would be respectful and contemplative.   As Obama was reading from the teleprompter, I watched the reactions of the military brains of tomorrow. I saw black faces, white faces, Asians, and the most wonderful of all…I saw female faces. After Obama was done speaking, I saw looks of joy on the faces of youths as they stumbled over one another to get a handshake or at the very least an iPhone picture of our Commander in Chief.

Leave it to Chris Mathews to tarnish the evening as he provided his richly detailed opinions of the students at West Point.

Dear God, please send a bolt of lightening across the Upper Westside of Manhattan that will some how find the ass of Chris Matthews. I pray that it will send testicle rattling tingles of journalistic integrity up his leg. Amen.

Saturday Toons: I Just Love Michele…Bachmann That Is November 14, 2009

obama-real-500x625Liberal Jon Stewart lovers are not letting up on their only hope that conservative media (aka Fox News) and the most hated conservative politician besides Sarah Palin, – Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-MN) are immoral scumbags like most of the mainstream media and Democratic politicians he fails to cover.

Several times this week, I have been met with ” Hey Afrocity, did you hear how Jon Stewart busted Sean Hannity and Michelle Bachman?”

If you have not already heard about it, then allow me to fill you in on what the firestorm of controversy is all about.

From this article in the San Francisco Chronicle:

Hannity & Bachmann lie about rally numbers | Hannity apologizes to Jon Stewart

By Yobie Benjamin

November 11, 2009

On his Fox News show, Sean Hannity misleadingly aired video from the 9-12 March on Washington while discussing Rep. Michele Bachmann’s (R-MN) much smaller November 5 anti-health care reform rally to claim that 20,000 – 45,000 plus people showed up to Bachmann’s protest.

Ha!!!  “Reliable sources like MSNBC..” ? Is he kidding?

Olbermann_Dolly

From "I Own The World.com"

I will say again if you have not heard about this then consider yourself lucky to have escaped the desperate gloating of a liberal who clings to the notion that Keith Olberman is actually a good journalist. Afrocity just smiles and acknowledges that it was wrong. The liberal goes skipping down the hallway. Poor thing, it must feel good. Every squirrel needs a nut. The sun must shine on a donkey’s ass sometime.

To be fair, what Sean Hannity and Fox News did was wrong. Do you hear that gloating liberals waiting for bone?  Afrocity agrees with you that it was unethical for Sean to use video footage from another rally in order to mislead the viewers. Personally,  attendance numbers do not matter to me. What does matter is that Rep. Bachmann was doing her part to make sure that Obamacare was not passed.

kill_bill-11

Unlike Keith Olberman who continues to lie and exaggerate on the daily basis,  at least Sean Hannity apologized:

Should I be angry about this? Sorry but I am not.

Will I switch back to MSNBC, CNN…read the Washington Post?  No.

I will continue to watch FOX News. I really do not care about the videotape. I still love Michele Bachmann.  My only criticism of her is that she not care about the number of people who show up to see her. Leave that to the Obama worshiping Kool Aid gang such as Robert Gibbs and David Axelrod. Numbers do not equate substance.  How many people attended Obama rallies during the presidential campaign, yet left just as clueless about his agenda as they were before they attended? Sadly, they did not care about the words flowing from Obama’s mouth. Michele, I am sure your attendees were present because they actually gave a damn about the future of health care in America. They were angry and wanted to be heard.

Michele keep doing what you do best. Who cares about the perception? Who cares about the popularity contests?

The Continuing Saga of Fox News Derangement Syndrome November 7, 2009

2-minute-hate-Obama-I do not have much time to write today but I wanted to make sure that everyone has seen this article in yesterday’s Los Angeles Times concerning the Obama administration and FOX News:

Democratic consultant says he got a warning from White House after appearing on Fox News

‘We better not see you on again,’ the strategist says he was told by a White House official. Obama aides have taken an aggressive stance against the network and may be seeking to isolate it.

Democratic consultant says he got a warning from White House after appearing on Fox News

‘We better not see you on again,’ the strategist says he was told by a White House official. Obama aides have taken an aggressive stance against the network and may be seeking to isolate it.

By Peter Nicholas Los Angeles Times Staff Writer
November 6, 2009 | 8:59 a.m.

Reporting from Washington – At least one Democratic political strategist has gotten a blunt warning from the White House to never appear on Fox News Channel, an outlet that presidential aides have depicted as not so much a news-gathering operation as a political opponent bent on damaging the Obama administration.

Political consultants are a staple of cable television talk shows, analyzing current events based on their own experiences working on campaigns or in government.

One Democratic strategist said that shortly after an appearance on Fox, he got a phone call from a White House official telling him not to be a guest on the show again. The call had an intimidating tone, he said.

The message was, ” ‘We better not see you on again,’ ” said the strategist, who spoke on condition of anonymity so as not to run afoul of the White House. An implicit suggestion, he said, was that “clients might stop using you if you continue.”

In urging Democratic consultants to spurn Fox, White House officials might be trying to isolate the network and make it appear more partisan.

A boycott by Democratic strategists could also help drive the White House narrative that Fox is a fundamentally different creature than the other TV news networks. For their part, White House officials appear on Fox News — but sporadically and with “eyes wide open,” as one aide put it.

David Plouffe, the president’s campaign manager and author of a new campaign book, “The Audacity to Win,” was scheduled to appear on Fox’s “On the Record” with Greta Van Susteren Thursday night as he promotes his book. His appearance, preempted by the breaking news of the shootings at Ft. Hood, Texas, has been rescheduled for Monday.

White House Communications Director Anita Dunn said Thursday night that she had checked with colleagues who “deal with TV issues” and they had not told people to avoid Fox. On the contrary, they had urged people to appear on the network, Dunn wrote in an e-mail.

But Patrick Caddell, a Fox News contributor and a former pollster for President Carter, said he has spoken to Democratic consultants who have been told by the White House to avoid appearances on Fox. He declined to give their names…

And here we thought blacklisting was over with after the McCarthy era.

Moonbat Monday: The FOX Hunters October 26, 2009

4035223198_4a730b787c_o

For little more than a year I have been in a wonderful relationship…with FOX News.

Other’s seem to agree as FOX news makes a killing every night in the ratings.  Yes, I love Bill-O, Sean, Shep, Greta, Glenn, Megyn, Charles Krauthhammer, Tammy Bruce, and even Juan.  Am I fair and balanced in my choice of news sources?  Hell no! Frankly, I do not care.

3596619837_b090aab6ceDuring a frustrating August day in 2008, I became increasingly dissatisfied with the media coverage surrounding then presidential candidate Barack Obama, especially on cable networks CNN and MSNBC.

To be fair, my mind was already made up against Obama.   He could not have given me 1 million dollars for my vote.  All that I needed to see of him and his lack of presidential qualities I admired had been locked in since his bid for the Democratic nomination against Hillary Clinton.

However, it seemed clear to me that the good folks of CNN and MSNBC also were firm in their decision about the upcoming election. Campbell Brown -all bull…so biased. Keith Olberman (blech). It was all about Barry. Barry could do no wrong.  GOP VP-nominee Sarah Palin was an idiot. John McCain was a racist and so were his gun toting supporters.

Distanced logic and a commitment to telling the truth seemed to be the last thing on the minds of reporters getting tingles up their legs over THE CHOSEN ONE. That is when I chose FOX.

At first, I delighted in the absence of Obama worship. That is what brought me to FOX.   With time, it was the network’s no frills commentators, tenacity for getting at the heart of the matter and commitment  to balanced reporting that kept me with Fox.  I also appreciate the feminine aspect of the network. Beauty and brains rule, every woman with a law degree, sweet smile and the bite of a pit bull.

Remember this little tiff between Megyn Kelly and Obama Campaign guy Bill Burton?

Okay, so FOX News and Obama seem to have a bit of history. However, now that the 2008 presidential campaign is in the history books and Obama is our president, some feuds never die.

White House: Fox Pushed Team Obama Over the Brink

A senior Obama adviser says White House staffers realized they’d never get a fair shake from Fox

Posted October 23, 2009

The White House’s feud with Fox News has caused an irresistible buzz in Washington, but many are wondering precisely what prompted President Obama and his advisers to go ballistic against the network.

Here’s the answer: Team Obama was pushed over the brink by a growing list of what it considered outrageous anti-Obama conduct by Fox that showed no sign of stopping. Obama’s advisers say that they seethed while Fox commentators used their shows to encourage protests against Obama’s healthcare proposals last summer. Team Obama fumed as Fox personalities tried to pressure some controversial Obama advisers to resign. White House officials

say that Fox has continued to stir the pot against Obama in a regular pattern—raising a criticism, having Republican congressional leaders comment on it, and then using those comments to keep the criticism alive.

A break point came when Fox tried to create the impression that angry anti-Obama protesters at congressional town hall meetings last summer signaled that Obama’s healthcare proposals were dying, a story line that other news organization picked up. White House officials say this was untrue, that those proposals were not dying at all.

Another break point came when Fox commentator Chris Wallace called White House officials “crybabies.” A senior Obama adviser tells U.S. News that White House staffers developed “a growing realization” that the president would never get a fair shake from Fox.

White House insiders say that, at some point, White House officials will appear again on Fox, but they will do so expecting an antagonistic atmosphere, as if they were appearing on conservative talk radio. Asked what White House insiders hope to accomplish with the feud, the adviser says, “We are not spending much time here at the White House thinking about Fox” but are focusing instead on the president’s agenda, including health care legislation, the economy, regulatory reform, Afghanistan

, and Iran. “Fox is using this to promote themselves,” the adviser says. “Our hope is simply that responsible journalists will not go chasing after Fox stories” as if these stories were legitimate.

Hmmm, if the Obama administration is so “not worried about FOX news can someone explain why they are trying so hard to lock out the news station that they claim is “not a legitimate news source”?

Again the Obamabots seek to crush and destroy rather than lead by example thus giving the world precious pearls of beer sud wisdom and “teachable moments”

Desperate to stay in the game weasel Democrats who normally shy away from FOX have been cropping up on the network. This morning Florida congress woman Deb Wasserman Schultz popped up on the morning show –cheery and full of liberal bias as always.

Sunday Lanny Davis got his ass handed to him on a platter by Mike Huckabee.

I do not agree with everything Mike Huckabee stands for but I love the way he handles himself with liberals.

I love it. Mike was honest. Yes we are fair and balanced but that does not mean we drink the Kool Aid and it certainly does not mean we hide what we believe in.

Accentuate The Positive. Eliminate the Negative. And Blame The Rest On Bush October 13, 2009

bush_derangement_syndrome-sIt seems the media is loading up your high definition television sets with tales of Obama Derangement Syndrome which of course always leads to a secondary infection of Bush Derangement Syndrome.

Obama wins the Nobel Peace Prize…Anyone who dares to say he did not deserve it is a hater or a racist (surprised?).  Liberals do not discuss why Obama deserved the award only because he was “Not Bush” .

As a result no true vetting of the Nobel Prize nominees were encouraged. Anyone who is not Bush is okay in their book.

It is tempting for conservatives to ask the Obamabots what has dear leader accomplished during his nine months in office.

They will swallow a couple of swigs of Kool Aid…well actutallu they are sucking on ice at this point.  They tell you…”Give the man some time…He  inherited 8 years of catastrophe from George W. Bush….Let the man do his job…”

Further responses to such “negative questions”  will only prove that it pays in minutes of your life as a sane person to shut your mouth while maintaining a look of admiration as Obama speaks words of wisdom and buttery blessings from his teleprompter.  I can say that I did not vote for George W. Bush until I turn into a mermaid and the Obamatrons will never believe me.

Afrocity is now a Republican so of course she voted for George W. Bush.

No lighting a candle at the Obama shrine? No galloping through the streets of urban decay with your fiddle playing BARACK HUSSEIN OBAMA HMMMM, MMMM,MMMM ?  Then it is so obvious that you are a Bush supporter.

From "Eric" at Facebook...Words cannot express the amount of moonbattery displayed in this scene.

From "Eric" at Facebook...Words cannot express the amount of moonbattery displayed in this scene.

“What did YOU do to help Barack Obama?” I am often asked.

I answer , “Voted for McCain”.

As we watched Obama struggle with decisions about health care reform, beer summits, and Afghanistan, any logical person could see that the man is a mere mortal after all, and out of his depth.  It is not about George W. Bush anymore and it will not be in 2 years either. Realizing that is not negative. It is called reality and I said similar things when Bush supporters attempted to blame September 11th, 2001 on Bill Clinton.

Saturday Night Live ( SNL), a show that I girlcott for their contributions to Sarah Palin Derangement Syndrome, actually criticized King Obama for the first time.

What happens next?

The skit is  analyzed by liberal media outlets with a white latex glove looking to get off on a body cavity search.

Was the skit actually factual? They ask.

Since when did Saturday Night Live warrant the attention of Fact Check .org?   More than that, the Obama negative thought police failed to fact check SNL’s skits portraying Sarah Palin as a GOP wind up doll.  I can recall plenty of SNL anti-Bush skits done by comedian Will Ferrell. Where was the CNN scrutiny then?

Very curious indeed.
