A Mostly Center-Right Place For Those With Irritable Obama Syndrome and Diversity Fatigue

Women and Politics: Are We Strong to the Finish? February 9, 2010

Although I am a Republican, I am African American and can relate to the significance of the election of Barack Obama. Whether I like it or not, he is the first POTUS of color and as a country we have been forever changed because of it.  I do not agree with his character or policies but as far as the collective memory of this nation, he is here to stay.

I am not a mother and I probably never will be. Sure I fantasize about it, the feedings, the PTA meetings.

Would my failings as an adult and lapses in judgment cause irrevocable damage to the quality of their life?

Is it possible to be a great mom when my own childhood was so dysfunctional?  When I was raised by a single mom who collected a monthly pay check from Uncle Sam? There was no significant male figure in my life, save for a brother living military life  in Europe most of my life.

What about politics?

Someday this child will want to go out and vote or at least I hope they would want to contribute to the political process.

I also wonder if I were a mom, what would I say to he or she about Barack Obama?

Would I take a copy of Dreams of My Father, hold it in front of my child and say “Bad Man…S O C I A L I ST” ?

Would I yell idiot at the television every time Obama’s image pops up? That would be every day.

You may be surprised at this but my answer is no.

For example if my child arrived from school with a homework assignment about Obama. They have to answer five questions about Obama’s impact on our coutry.

For argument’s sake let’s pretend that the text book is full of liberal embellishments: “Obama is a great man”, “Obama saved our country from the brink of financial Armageddon, “Obama is the greatest president since FDR.”  “Racism almost kept Obama out of the White House”…

How would I handle this situation without passing on my own prejudices against the man?   This is the first president of color we are talking about.   As any good archivist/ historian, I would teach my child to do rigorous research on it’s own.  I would say that while I did not agree with Obama’s policies and I did not vote for him, his election was a pivotal moment in history for all Americans but especially for African Americans.   If the child is very young, there is no need to discuss the motivation and behavior behind Barack Obama.

Afrocity mom would bust out the”Great  Black Politicians in  History”  flash cards which hopefully have cardboard representations Colin Powell, Condeleeza Rice,  Michael Steele,  along with Barack Obama, Jesse Jackson and other prominent black Americans.  Let’s save the Obama and Bill Ayers stories  for middle or high school.  Obama was the first black president and I will not steal that moment–the very significance of it, away from my child.   If I wrote Obama off as a simpleton, say as many liberal women  particularly feminists do Sarah Palin, what would I really be teaching my child?  I just marginalized an important historical figure at the expense of my child’s freedom to choose their own heroes.

The "Fernie Swastikas" A Canadian Women's Hockey Team. In 1923 they defeated the Vancouver Amazons. What would you say to your daughter about this picture today?

Every group or identity politic has memorable stories that endure the harshness of forgetfulness.  Stories that we reiterate to each generation over and over again.  I accept that Barack Obama will be one of them.  His legacy will be held to redefinition over the years. Historians will carefully examine his accomplishments and  spin new interpretations  on Barry-O but still he will never go away.

The same can be said for women’s history.  We can be Republicans or Democrats, Independents, Tea Partiers but we still are women.

What if Sarah Palin did win presidential election in 2012?  What would women, liberals in particular say to their daughters?   “Sarah Palin is a CUNT” ? would they hang her and Piper in effigy over the local Planned Parenthood center? Or would they say: “You know what, I do not agree with this woman’s stance on abortion or gay marriage, but her getting elected to the highest office in the nation is a pretty damn big step for all women”?

As it stands now, we have all this unfolding discourse on how qualified Sarah Palin is. She must prove herself. Over and over and over again like a broken record.   No matter how many speeches Sarah gives, she still must prove herself.

I was somewhat upset with Geraldine Ferraro during this FOX NEWS interview with Megyn Kelly.  Again with the Sarah must prove herself.

I wanted to jump into Megyn’s fancy new studio and say “Hey, Gerry…I was a kid when you ran on the DNC ticket and really I think Sarah Palin gave more interview’s and is under far more media scrutiny than you ever were.”

After a year of fumbles and corpse-men, Obamatons are still chanting “All we are saying, is give Obama a chance”

Would they do the same for Sarah?

I will close this post with one of my most memorable moments in Afrocity once watched cartoons history.  Precious and is this episode of Popeye the Sailor Man.  Olive Oyl imagines herself as being President of the United States of America.  She fights sexism and partisan politics, she has a male secretary. Please watch and I am sure you will be equally entertained and frightened that this antique film reel still captures the underpinnings of a woman’s struggle in politics today. It will take a helluva lot more than a can of spinach to get a woman in the White House sowing the seeds of legislation and real change instead of organic arugula.

No Compassionate Conservative Tears For John Murtha (1932-2010) February 8, 2010

I cannot tell a lie.  When I heard the news of the death of John Murtha (D-PA) after complications from gall bladder surgery,  I did not have one moment of concern. Quite honestly,  what did come to mind was Murtha’s words describing his own constituents as “rednecks” during the 2008 presidential campaign.

There’s still folks that have a problem voting for someone because they are black. This whole area, years ago, was really redneck.–John Murtha

Comments like the one above are what made me despise the race baiting and sparring between the high brow liberal elites and so called “Joe Six Pack” common folk.   If you initially refused to vote for Barack Obama , John Murtha and the Democrats were going to white guilt you all the way to your local polling station.

My second response to the death of Murtha involves his lack of respect for our troops fighting in the Iraq war.  Listening to Mutha’s  hasty remarks in  May 2006 branding  a squad of Marines who stormed a house in Haditha, Iraq  after a roadside bomb attack  as “cold blooded killers”  it was hard to believe that Murtha, a military veteran himself would utter such things before an official investigation was launched.

Still we mush honor the lives of the dead and I would like to included an interesting except from Vanity Fair magazine December 2006.  A simple Proust questionnaire which shows the Murtha behind the controversial remarks.  As we on the right wonder what will become of his vacant House seat, we can only be amused by such light hearted trivia before the ensuing political hailstorm.

What is your idea of perfect happiness?
Good health.

What is your greatest fear?
I fear for the future of our country because of the direction this administration is taking us in with the debacles in Iraq. We’ve lost our credibility around the world, and our young people are going to have to foot the bill for this war well into the future.

Which historical figure do you most identify with?
Teddy Roosevelt as president: “Speak softly and carry a big stick.” Tip O’Neill as Speaker of the House: “All politics is local.”

Which living person do you most admire?
The wounded troops I visit almost every week in the hospitals. These young veterans inspire me because of their immense courage, their dedication to their country, and the obstacles they overcome every day.

What is the trait you most deplore in yourself?
Impatience.

What is the trait you most deplore in others?
Incompetence.

What is your favorite journey?
I’ve been all over the world during my 32 years in Congress, but my favorite trip is traveling back and forth from Washington to my district, in western Pennsylvania. I enjoy the solitude and peacefulness of the beautiful countryside. The real beauty of the trip comes during the fall months, when the leaves change their hues.

What do you consider the most overrated virtue?
Reticence: the unwillingness to speak out when you feel it’s the right thing to do.

Which living person do you most despise?
I can’t imagine taking the time to actually despise anyone.

Which words or phrases do you most overuse?
I say yes too often.

What is your greatest regret?
I have no regrets. I always look ahead.

When and where were you happiest?
I enjoy every day.

What is your current state of mind?
I love my job.

If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be?
I’m comfortable with who I am. I try to use my God-given resources to the best of my ability every day.

What do you consider your greatest achievement?
Yet to come …

What is your most treasured possession?
I have several: the letters and memorabilia I’ve been given over the years by people I’ve helped, my great-grandfather’s Civil War hat, two golf clubs President Clinton gave me on January 19, 2001—his very last day in office.

What is your most marked characteristic?
Early in my career, I used to sit by myself on the floor of the House to learn policies and procedures. Wilbur Mills, former chairman of the Ways and Means Committee, asked me why I was always by myself and what I was doing. When I told him, he gave me two pieces of advice that I’ve tried to live by and that I’ve become known for: specialize in one area, and always keep your word.

What is the quality you most like in a man?
Courage.

Who are your favorite writers?
Leo Tolstoy, Winston Churchill, and David McCullough.

Who is your favorite hero of fiction?
Winston Churchill. He just couldn’t have been real.

What is it that you most dislike?
Exploitation, mischaracterization, and weakness.

What is your motto?
“Live every day to the fullest.”

Fly On The TARP Wall February 8, 2010

I wanted to alert my readers to a great excerpt printed in the Wall Street Journal from Henry Paulson’s new book entitled  On the Brink: Inside the Race to Stop the Collapse of the Global Financial System .

Paulson, is the former United States Treasury Secretary  and at one time was the CEO of Goldman Sachs.  The book excerpt in the WSJ concerns the now infamous McCain 2008 presidential campaign suspension meeting which lead to TARP.    The event made for  one of the most memorable and intense campaign debacles in modern history.  John McCain and Barack Obama were about to meet for their first presidential debate and then the economic crisis hit the fan.   McCain appeared flustered and suffering from knee jerk-itis  while Obama was calm, cool and unaffected ( We would later find that this is Obama’s normal demeanor with everything from paper cuts to oh say overly endowed Muslim Nigerian citizens with snakes on airplanes—pretty much everything).

The dick measuring contest centered around who could handle the financial meltdown the quickest while appearing the most presidential.

From this excerpt in the Wall Street Journal

FEBRUARY 6, 2010

When Mr. McCain Came to Washington

Inside the White House meeting where Obama called McCain’s bluff: ‘I could see Obama chuckling’

By HENRY M. PAULSON JR.

…When the hearing recessed, I went into [Democratic Massachusetts Rep.] Barney Frank’s office and called [White House Chief of Staff] Josh Bolten to tell him in no uncertain terms that I thought it was dangerous for McCain to return. Josh said the White House was equally frustrated. McCain wanted a meeting at the White House, and the president felt he had no choice but to accommodate him.

I called Obama right away. He said that he would try to be as constructive as possible but that the Democrats were doing their part and I had better keep in touch with McCain. The president was scheduled to give a major speech that evening making the case for TARP, but news of McCain’s decision to suspend his campaign dominated the rest of the afternoon.

We’d devised TARP to save the financial system. Now it had become all about politics—presidential politics. I wondered what McCain could have been thinking. Calling a meeting like this when we didn’t have a deal was playing with dynamite.

At 2:25 the following afternoon. I spoke with John McCain, who had just returned to Washington. The call did nothing to ease my mind. “We have to protect the American taxpayers,” he told me, pointing out that nothing would get done in Congress without the House Republicans. They didn’t like our proposal and I needed to listen more carefully to them, he said.

“John, our system is on the edge,” I told him. “WaMu barely got bailed out today. Several other institutions are on the brink. If we don’t get something done soon, this economy is going to collapse.”

I was so concerned that McCain would do or say something rash that I resorted to a veiled threat: “I’m not a politician, but if you or anyone else does something that causesthis system to collapse, it is not going to just be on me. I am going to go and say what I think to the American people.”

I will let you  be the judge, all I can say is:

Sunday Soliloquy: One Missed Pill February 7, 2010

Quick of eye are the vultures circling neophyte conservative Afrocity.

Like someone who suffers from panic disorder, there are some days that I do not feel adequately Xanaxed-up.

Obviously, being a a conservative creates an apothecary of concerns for a former Democrat.

I get attacked from both sides.

It is my own fault, I jumped in feet first and sometimes I fall on my soft head.  No one has ever coached me in the details of being a conservative.

If you walked into my apartment, overall impressions of my kitchen table, the cupboard, the contents of my chest of drawers would show you that virtually nothing has changed about me since 2008 except my political affiliation.  Well okay…okay- I will confess to purchasing a burlap RNC 1976 convention tote bag at an antiques store in Iowa.  It was a great find and I could not resist.  Other than that, I promise you that I do not own not one political tee shirt, not one white hood, not one “Don’t Tread On Me”  thong and bra set.

Still the same Afrocity. The blacker the conservative, the sweeter the controversy

I am the same. I just vote differently now.

Still Pro-choice.

Still Afrocity.

Still African American.

Sill a woman.

Still, I receive reproachable letters and comments:

Ms. [Afrocity] Brown, You’re a conservative Republican. Not sure how you can call yourself a PUMA. By definition, PUMA stands for disaffected Democrats.

…You [Afrocity]are no republican or conservative of mine. your just a ghetto girl wanna be. Those who accept you in our party are just as bad as those who voted for obama… you are not needed. You black piece of shit, stay far away from our party till you learn you some…

It seems foolish to get upset over such comments.

I must accept that despite what I do or say, I will emerge the as the villian on both sides of the political divide.  I am an aspirin. Devour one half one day, save the next for later.

What is in a villian’ s cupboard?

Campbells Chicken n’ Dumplings soup, Kraft Mac n’ Cheese, vitamins, microwave popcorn,  spices, sugar, polenta… What’s in my chest of drawers?  I would answer it depends.  I own a credenza filled with CD’s, old grad school papers, and ashes… Three small canisters.  One with my Dalmatian Paloma she died in 2005, the other with my Dalmatian Picasso who died in 2009 and the last canister contains my mother’s ashes.  You can literally unearth my past by looking in my credenza.  Now that this post has been punctuated by morbidity, one can presume where I am going with this but you may be surprised.

My mother was once a living breathing human being.  Not only did she matter to me but she was actually matter.

Is it true when they say that matter can be neither created nor destroyed?  I certainly think so!

Death becomes her.

Mother is not destroyed, she is slimmer than ever at 7 pounds, 8 ounces.

She is contently sitting inside my credenza.

Quiet, serene a silent whisper of ashes, powder.  Like a pill. A finely pressed pill ground by mortar and pestle. Whole at one moment, with shape and form. Crushed and dissipated the next.

When I die, I too want to be cremated.  Because I am a conservative will my ashes be Republican red?  My mother’s are certainly not blue.   On one occasion, I felt foolish for opening the canister and looking at mother’s remains.  All gray and in a box with a few chips of bone hear and there.

All of her in a box bearing a label with her name on it.   The woman in the box allowed me to exist.   Suddenly, I saw her at thirty years of age, in 1968 standing in front of a refrigerator on her tippy toes…her birth control pills were kept there on top.  As she reached for the pills, she dropped them on the floor, the container opened and the last pills rolled under the refrigerator.  According to mother that is how Afrocity came to be.  One missed pill, a canceled abortion appointment, and 9 months later.  And since matter could neither be created or destroyed then why would the powers that be allow it now?

I will not let anyone destroy me or my message.

Moonbat Mailbag: Afrocity Incites Hate Among the Apolitical February 4, 2010

This is really good. I love the mail I get from people who claim not to be involved with politics. They are neither Democrat or Republican yet as the conversation goes on splashes of pro-Obama/anti-conservative sentiment become obviously ever so apparent.   Since the Scott Brown (R-MA) win in Massachusetts, even the apolitical  moonbats have been a tad bit ape shit.

Let me set the mood here.

Afrocity places her iPhone 3gs  on ” Freebird“   by Lynyrd Skynyrd

Name withheld:

Dear Afrocity,

I first want to say I love how you have strong views and convictions. I honestly believe “if you don’t stand for something you fall for anything”. Im not attacking your views because Im sure you have heard it all ” Obama leadership is good for all african americans kids growing up to see” along with many other famous quotes from other convincing democrats. I totally understand if you don’t like Obama’s policies and the moves he is making, Im not a democrat nor am I a republican.

But what I ask myself is why let conservatives say lies about the president on your page? Why have friends on your facebook that belong to obvious white supremest groups which I don’t feel the need to be detailed because I’m sure you are aware. Why support a man such as Rush limbaugh when he says things like we need separated buses for black and white students? I try to answer these questions in my head…… Is it because of self hate? no, You are very confident of who you are.

From my point of view…Its not self hate. Maybe your one of those people that like to get hated on and be against whats popular? hmmm, that could be it. But I do know that if history was to start over again and, they wouldn’t look at you any different for being on there side. They would judge you for your skin and not because of your intellect just like MANYY not all judge Obama. You dont have to agree with me, you don’t have to respond, I just wanted you to know that your own people love you regardless. Your a beautiful black women but I want you to be careful because your words inspire people to do hateful things. Hateful ways usually turn into hateful actions. You believe what you believe and that is fine but for someone that is not a republican or democrat I’m just asking you to be careful about what thoughts, ideas, you put in there heads because they can get carried away. There is a reason behind everything by the way….

Okay, so I hang with White Supremacists and I monger hate against…Barack Obama. Which the author of the letter is totally not for Obama’s policies yet he cares to get me to see Obama’s point because….the logic is just so clear.

There are those who are Kool Aid drinkers for Obama but for some reason they are in denial. So they see a person like me and I bother them because here is Afrocity drinking moonshine and listening to Bill O’Reilly, having Tupperware parties with her friends in white hoods.

I am totally oblivious that my conservative friends are all racists. I did not know that Palin PAC or Smartgirl Politics was akin to the KKK. Guess I missed my friends with the burning cross avatar, and screen names like “Nigger Killer”.  That went over my head.  My Aunt Jemima do rag must be too tight- cutting off the brain circulation.

Now that it is has been established that I am really the most awful misguided black person in all of North America, I am glad to know that “my people” still love me. (Sniff) That is special because I doubted it there for a second while I was spreading hatred and being judged by my skin color by my own people.

Oh, well what can a medium skinned non negro speaking dialect black conservative do?

Thank Rush Limbaugh that I have readers sending me emails like that, keeping me honest.

Illinois Democrats Fail To Get Out The “Stiff Vote” February 3, 2010

I voted!!!!

Yesterday, I braved the 25 degree temperatures, ice and  snow to vote in the Illinois primary.  The big races were for Barack Obama’s old senate seat, now held by Roland Burris and the governor’s race.

I was pretty clear in my intention to vote for Mark Kirk for the GOP nominee for U.S. Senator.  For governor, I chose Jim Ryan.   Both are considered RINOs and I was thoroughly chastised by my friends on the right for not choosing “true conservatives” like senate candidate Patrick Hughes (R-IL).

RINO fraternizing aside, my reasoning was that I wanted a strong candidate to beat the Democrats come November. When it comes to the U.S. Senate race, Mark Kirk may be a RINO but he has a better chance than Hughes at beating the Obama basketball hoops buddy,  Alexi Giannoulias (D-IL).

For the most part, the actual voting  was pretty uneventful unless you would like to count my not being asked to show proof of identification or the look on the face of the polling officials as they scrambled to unearth a Republican ballot for me.

I went in the booth and made my choices.  Immediately I felt a sense of guilt when I realized that I had not researched some of the other races more closely, if at all.  For instance, Cook County Water Commissioner…WTF?  When I did not know anything about a race, I voted for the woman on the ballot or the name I liked best.  That is sad and I promise never to do that again. I will never be an uniformed voter.  Admittedly, I got caught up in only the big races and forgot about the small ones. Those jobs, judges, commissioners are all important to someone.  I should have taken it more seriously.  Like many on the right, I want Illinois to be another Massachusetts.

This morning I was pleased to see that Mark Kirk had indeed won the GOP nomination. Sean Hannity was not so much but we can reform a RINO more easily than a jackass.  Kirk voted for TARP, so yes, there is a little work to do (drags Kirk to a dark room with a dead fish in hand).

My guy Jim Ryan, lost the governor’s primary race but I am ok with that.  The big news seems to be the battle for the DEM nomination as Gov. Quinn is in a dead heat tie with possibly two other candidates.

From this article in the Chicago Tribune:

Quinn says primary over; votes still being counted this morning

by Monique Garcia

Gov. Pat Quinn this morning called on Democrats to get behind his campaign for governor, but stopped short of calling on rival state Comptroller Dan Hynes to give up while votes are still being counted in their tight primary contest.

Hynes told supporters after midnight that there were still votes to be counted; this morning Cook Countyofficials were to resume tabulating ballots from 24 precincts they didn’t get to after midnight.

“I know where the precincts are and just since midnight of last night our lead has lengthened,” Quinn said to reporters after thanking voters in Chicago this morning. “It was a close election, there’s no doubt about it.”

“But after it’s over, people come together. I haven’t won every election of my life, sometimes I’m on the short end and life goes on. It’s important for people I think to understand the Democratic party has very robust contest in the primary, but the tradition in our party is that the candidates come together after the primary and work together for the candidates in the fall.”

Asked if he was calling on Hynes to concede, Quinn said “I’m not going to tell anybody what to do.

“I just think the results are in, the primary is over, the people heard both candidates and got a chance to vote,” Quinn said. “After that’s over, it’s time to count the votes and move on.”

“The numbers speak for themselves”

My ballot

Sure the numbers will speak for themselves until you keep recounting until you win. Sounds like the Illinois Democrats failed to get out the stiff vote.  I will keep you posted on how this turns out.

Sunday Soliloquy: Chicago and the Etymology of “Bottom Bitch” January 31, 2010

On a bitter cold winter day like today, it may be plausible to offer excuses for not visiting Chicago.  However if there are very important gubernatorial and senate races going on, especially a race in which the best supporters during your presidential campaign are candidates.

One would think that President Barack Obama could at least make an appearance in the Windy City rather than cast absentee ballots for his 2008 presidential campaign vote whores. Quinn, Blago, Giannoulias…these guys worked the streets hard for pimp daddy Barry O.

When he became president, many Chicagoans believed it was highly probable that Obama would follow in the steps of his predecessor George W. Bush by  visiting his hometown often.  No such luck.

A year into his presidency, there is little presence of Obama in Chicago beyond faded HOPE posters and his empty home  in the Hyde Park neighborhood guarded by several police cars.

From this article in the Chicago Tribune

It hasn’t exactly been sweet home Chicago in Obama’s first year

By Bob Secter

January 18, 2010

…Chicagoans may fancy themselves an unsentimental, nose-to-the-grindstone lot, but folks in Obama’s adoptive hometown indulged in a wave of parochial euphoria with his election. The huge, election night rally in Grant Park was electric with possibilities, not the least of which was the notion that Chicago would be transformed into the nation’s unofficial second capital and reap a big payoff in both stature and dollars.

Even the typically measured Obama appeared to get carried away when he told the Tribune that he hoped to return home every couple of months and considered the South Side his “Kennebunkport,” an allusion to the Maine family compound of President George H.W. Bush.

In hindsight, there was wishful thinking all around. As the nation marks the anniversary of the first Chicago president’s

  • Obama’s political magic hasn’t kept the state from suffering through a recession like everybody else, and the state and city governments are drowning in red ink.
  • Chicago’s high-profile bid for the 2016 Olympics went down in flames despite Obama’s personal intervention.
  • To some, the scandal-marred transfer of Obama’s U.S. Senate seat to Roland Burris may be the most lopsided Chicago trade since Lou Brock for Ernie Broglio.
  • It’s not that presidents can’t have a palpable impact on their home bases.

Springfield has built a thriving tourist industry around Abraham Lincoln. Tiny Crawford, Texas, got a huge economic shot in the arm whenever President George W. Bush showed up at his Prairie Chapel Ranch for a lengthy stay with an entourage of aides, security personnel, media and onlookers.

Hmmm, sure doesn't look like Chicago to me.

But Chicago is a far cry from Crawford; Plains, Ga., ( Jimmy Carter); or even Little Rock, Ark., ( Bill Clinton). Sizing up what it means for a modern president to hail from an already bustling commercial and cultural center is a more challenging task.

“At the very least, it will become part of the keepsake box of the city, like having Oprah in town or being home to the 1893 World’s Fair,” said Chris Mooney, a political scientist at the University of Illinois’ Springfield campus. “Every big city needs to be noticed now and then. Even if you’re already the prom queen, it’s nice to be complimented.”

Chris Mooney has it wrong. Chicago is not a prom queen at Obama’s ball.   It is a bottom bitch- nothing more, nothing less.

Others are beginning to see that this great city, which brought forth our nation’s first African American president is nothing more than one of Barack Obama’s “bottom bitches”.  Pimped out and left behind.

What is a ” bottom bitch” you may ask?  Why does Afrocity continue to use this seemingly derogatory term?

I can just feel the feminist  blogosphere (no pun intended) tense up.

What is wrong with Afrocity?  She knows that we never say “bitch”.   But this is reality and I did say the “B-word”, particularly the “double B-term” –bottom bitch.

Several years ago I first heard of a bottom bitch while watching the 2005 movie Hustle and Flow featuring actor Terrence Howard as “Djay”.  Djay was a pimp desperately striving to make something of himself by laughing a successful hit wrap song while keeping his hoes in line.  In one memorable scene Djay refers to one of his best hoes as a bottom bitch after she comes through for him during a frustrating moment when she presents him with a lava lamp to brighten his recording space.

Although the Youtube clip leaves out the bottom bitch term, I wanted you to actually see the scene to in order to create context and mood.  Here is Djay’s exact quote:

“That’s a bottom bitch for you. I mean, we got everything we need right here. And all this stuff in this… this little-bitty space, man, it just looks so much bigger now. I’m here trying to squeeze a dollar out of a dime, and I ain’t even got a cent, man.”

I was actually embarrassed at my reaction to the term.  I was almost touched when Djay uttered those words.  A bottom bitch is someone you can count on the most. Your main bitch.  He or she brings home the goods no matter what you do or say to her.  This is your main hoe who works the streets for you day and night.

Bottom bitches come in all shapes, sizes and botox enhanced forms. In this photo, it is really hard to tell who excatly the bottom bitch is.

For another take on bottom bitches, I  also will let the nice kids of South Park explain that for you. In one episode Butters decides to become a pimp and takes a bottom bitch:

Again,  here we see as with the Hustle and Flow definition,  that a bottom bitch is the Rock of Gibraltar when it comes to your hoes.

However, that does not necessarily translate into a mutually beneficial relationship for the bottom bitch.  Chicago more than any other piece of politically expedient ass in Barack Obama’s life is learning the downside when it comes to being bestowed the coveted presidential bottom bitch title.

Continuing from the Tribune article:

If anything qualifies as Obama-inspired local pork, it could be the administration’s decision to buy the empty Thomson prison in northwestern Illinois as a holding tank for terror suspects now detained at Guantanamo Bay. Obama was likely aware of the prison’s availability because he was a member of the Illinois Senate in 2002 when state officials, in a cost-cutting move, decided not to open the just completed facility.

Wow Obama!!! Thanks for those Gitmo detainees Barry! You sure know how to show the folks back in your home state some love.

In short, Chicago and the State Of Illinois, is still in the state of pre-hope and post-change.

Black on black crime is still a general trend in the city since Obama’s election.  Scandalous cell phone videos of youths beating each other to death and failure to secure the 2016 Olympics, did nothing for the image of Chicago.  Images of Michelle Obama in he red and black Narcisso Rodriguez election night dress are eclipsed by the blood of Derrion Albert’s beating last September.   The premise of Obama’s hope and change message has somehow escaped the boundaries of Chicago.  The process has somehow been retarded by a collective feeling of hopelessness and despair.

Obama has forgotten about his Windy City  bottom bitch as he is  circling the globe making the rounds of with his lesser  geographic hoes.  Feeling up the electoral vote abundant tits and ass of Ohio and Pennsylvania.  Dining in France.  Ipod trading in Great Britain. Bowing to and fro and golfing under the Hawaiian sun.

Chicago got the shaft.

The second President Bush was famous for his long, extended trips to Crawford, but Obama in his first year has been to Scandinavia (two trips to Copenhagen, one to Oslo) as often as Chicago.

Shortly after the inauguration last January, the Obama family returned to their Kenwood home for a long Valentine’s weekend. The family hasn’t been back since, though the president returned to Chicago in June to speak at a medical conference and in July for a political fundraiser. On neither occasion did he stay the night.

To be sure, there is an upside in Chicago to having Obama stay away. Presidential motorcades often create monumental traffic tie-ups. The security cordon around the Obama home for that Valentine’s weekend visit extended for a three-block radius.

Jack Cella, general manager of the Seminary Co-op Bookstores around the University of Chicago campus where Obama once taught law, said that for much of last year, the neighborhood was crawling with reporters from around the world, as well as tourists and curiosity seekers. That activity has slowed in the winter months, and it’s not clear if it will resume with warmer weather.

Not long ago, it was common to see the Obamas wandering the neighborhood, but residents are by no means put out about them now staying away, Cella said.

“We’ve still got as much enthusiasm as ever,” he said. “There is still real admiration and affection for the first family. It would be nice to see him, but people realize he’s got an awful lot to [do].”

Of course he won’t stay the night silly Chicago.  You are a bottom bitch. Was he ever home when he was the senator from Illinois?  No, he played you.   Obama will see you again in 2011, when he needs you and you will still be there waiting for him with open arms and legs raising the dead so they can re-elect him.  Stop checking. There is no text message for you today. May as well go back to dusting those Barry bobble heads and using those CHICAGO 2016 poster to keep the fireplace going until your pager blows up.

Congratulations Chicago. You are now an etymological inspirator of bottom bitches to come.

ZoNation, my favorite conservative comedian and fellow Top 25 Bookerista has released an amazing video on the liberal meltdown over Scott Brown’s Massachusetts win.  He also highlights moments in liberal hypocrisy during the Bush presidency. Please watch and tomorrow I promise you there will be a Sunday Soliloquy.

Enjoy,
